I took step by step and doing so my info was clear to my knowledge what was needed at input

See my survey response; It was an uneasy and unfriendly first experience; I felt immediately as if I might have been scammed by an un-personable and un-identified representative without any connection to IRS. It was a very uneasy feeling that the call ended so abruptly with no time to utter a single word.

I was directed to it because I was informed it was the only way to take care of some business I needed to fix. The process was fussy and it took four attempts to have the correct answers. At which point I was redirected to a login portal which I was already credentialed for.
So have my credit report, my SSN, Address; family data, and I know not what else, in a data base I have no way to be certain is secure.
I also have no guarantee they are not using that data to sell, or otherwise profit from.
This process wanted a picture of my ID, a selfie, and other info and it sounded like it was going to be a pain, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it was easy, worked flawlessly, and I was done sooner than I expected. Kudos.
Seemed lengthy at first, but results were fine. Took me where I needed to go.
I was surprised how easy and streamlined the process was. Not like other government requests. Felt modern and was very easy to complete in about 15 minutes. Based on this experience I'd shop here again ;)

Wasn't sure or confident that I did it right. The instructions asked me to go backwards in my browser which I did wrong on my phone so I started the whole process over on my laptop.
I thought the IRS couldn't make anything more painful, but this ID.me experience surpassed the IRS, even. It took hours uploading documents, attempting to take the videos, only in the end after numerous failed attempts, to end up speaking with an agent and having to do a video call after pulling my hair out, following the online instructions to a "T". Save yourself a lot of frustration and do the video call up front. Very UNHAPPY ID/me user.
