I have spent two days trying to submit my ID needed to file for Unemployment insurance in New York. I already have a claim open and ID with NYDOL but they keep referring me over to ID.Me though once you get to ID.Me and set up your account information with them, the link to supply your documentation (photo ID etc.) is NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. Ask for help and you get a AI named "Roy" who will direct you back to NYDOL where the loop stars all over again. I've sent in two tickets for assistance and they have gone unanswered. I haven't filed for UI in over ten years and the old system seemed to have worked fine. Who's great idea what this?
Addendum; I just got a message from a different department saying I now have a support ticket number. Lets see how long this new Möbius strip goes on.
It has been very frustrating for someone in my age group to use this tech stuff that I am not comfortable with. I have difficulty reading things on a computer screen or monitor even with making adjustments to the color or the size of the font. I accidently suspended ID.me account a week ago that close to Q4 941-2023 and annual form 940 deadline. Tried submitted many emails to them (they even don't provide visual agent and phone support) have heard nothing.

The ID.me site relies too much on its buggy software to carry the verification processes forward. I encountered a number of problems, starting with the MFA methods. In Bolivia where I live, national phones cannot be reached with messages such an the authentication code. Other methods do not work either. I tried to download one of the key programs and Google told me it was not available in my country. I was able to do a work-around by getting the code sent to my daughter's US phone. Otherwise, I would have stayed completely stuck. In the middle of thee process, I found o few dead ends where I couldn't go back and straighten something out. At the end when I had to get my documents verified electronically, before the video call, it misread one of my documents. At that point I should have been able to access a human being, but getting the scan to read it correctly was a requirement to talk to a human being. Fortunately, THIS TIME, a repeat scan was correct, and I finally got through to my video call. In summary, the software of ID.me is not trustworthy enough to be relied upon as a gatekeeper that can block the process.

Please make sure to have all of your documents when you sit down for the verification process. You also need to have good lighting so there are no shadows on your documents. Once you send your documents you will receive a telephone call from an agent which is just another part of the process. Please have patience and you will receive wonderful care from the agent that will be calling you
