Was told 2-3 days took 2 wks.? No pin or anything to hep me get my taxes done IRS can do the same thing. The link provided didn't direct me to my pin but a non useful irs link that was confusing and not to my account. I now working with the irs to get my pin as this didn't work one inch for me at any level complete waist of time service should be defunded and considered a waist of tax payers money. Nothing was accomplished using this service I personally believe it has hindered the process and the I'll make getting my taxes even longer. If you gotta use this service I feel bad for you as it's pointless and useless amd doesn't provide the pin that's required. I will complain to my Governors office the irs and the presidents office to remove this waist of tax dollars service as it didn't do anything I have spent 3 hrs in the phone with the irs still no pin..
Fast and easy was not on the call long pleasant experience
I was attempting to log in to retrieve my Identity Protection PIN number to finish filing my taxes. Most of the process was quite easy and the steps to complete them were simple and intuitive.
However, once I reached the phone number portion of the verification process I had issues and was stuck there unable to complete the task. I tried my own personal phone number (registered in MY name) and it was not accepted. Struggled for days trying both options of verification (self-guided and video call) and neither one would work. Finally I had the idea to use my Mother's cell phone number (registered in HER name) and was finally able to complete the verification? Very strange and confusing.

ID.me is an easy site to use and navigate. I have used it for several verification sites with no problems. I recently tried to log into a web site I have used in the past only to be directed to a new login verification site. Their preferred login site could not verify my identity. ID.me was the second choice and since I had an ID.me account I had no problems with being verified for access. The US Government is using ID.me for ID verification. If the government is trusting ID.me that is saying it is a good site to use.

Id.me is very stressful system. Plus no phone number to call for assistance. Still have issues with sign in to the two government system ASAP and PMS. Id.me has not responded to my e-mail
