Verifiy documents that I need for unemployment. It is needed for my benefits to be recognized as well as my name, and address where I live. It was a video call. It was my first time using a video call to ID.Me.
Easy to use and should be more common with other agencies, banks etc. I like how the site can match the picture on your driver's license or passport by first taking a picture of either and then a video of your face. So even if someone has your IDs they won't be successful because they cannot verify themselves in a video. Hope the video recognition used can recognize the difference between a video of your face and you actually doing the video live.
The process took a while. I am glad they do an intensive check because I don't want just anyone having my information. It's just when I went to get said information an error message came up. So essentially I did all of this for nothing.

Tried the video selfie twice with no success. I spent close to 10 mins trying to succeed. I didn't, so I chose the video chat with a live person. It was faster, easier, and more pleasant with a live person thab the selfie. My wait time and human verification took about two minutes, maybe a tiny bit longer. Super fast. And interacting with a human was much more pleasant.

I was trying to log into my account on the IRS website in oder to get documents crucial to a life changing (for the better) process for my family and I. I wasn't able to prove who I was because I no longer had the phone number I used for verification. We all know what to pain these government websites can be. It used to take forever to get yourself reverified, sometimes weeks or even months. ID.me ask me for some basic information about myself, a picture ID and a birth certificate or social. They then simply conducted a video call with me and compared my face to my picture in the ID Card in my hand. The wait time was only a few minutes and thanks to them I was able to get the documents that I needed to accomplish the task I was trying to accomplish. The lady wasn't cheesey fake phone voice cheerful or rude in anyway. She was calm, thorough and professional. She gave me clear, concise instructions and we got it done quickly and easily. Now I don't have any trouble get onto these mind-numbing dotgov's. I only have trouble being on them! Kudos, ID.me!
