The site is difficult to use, and there is no support available. Roy the chatbot was just annoying and provided no help or value; it was a waste of time.
The process included sending me a link so I could photograph my documents, and that did not work at all. My request for support was answered with a boilerplate reply, which was not helpful. My support request was finally answered about 20 hours later! That is not acceptable. I understand the concept of "letting a question 'age'," but that was ridiculous. To work around the block I encountered, I photo'd my own documents, uploaded them to Google Drive to edit them, and then downloaded them to my laptop so I could upload them to ID.me. That was very inefficient. I think I will put this review on TrustPilot also.
I needed my tax info from last year in order to efile my tax returns for this year and getting access through ID.me was complicated enough that it definitely feels secure but clear in it's instructions.
My ID.me guy helped me through the process. We lost connectivity which took some time.

From start to finish, this was effortless. I read almost all of the ID.me help page, which helped me prepare everything before going online. The entire process took maybe 15 minutes. When I finished I was told I would get a notification for a video verification. That happened a few minutes later! The video representative was extremely friendly and efficient. Shortly after the video was done, I got an email stating that I was all set to sign in to My Soc Sec. I did. I was dead easy.
