I've used this service when I needed to secure a lease on an apartment rental and for online IRS payments. It's fairly simple and if there is any issue with face recognition,they will send you a link for online video which will complete the process and protect your identity at the same time. Great service and simple to use!

ID.me insists on very clear images and ones that include the entire borders of both the driver's license and passport. Be prepared to have them rejected a few times and don't be shocked when you are not sure exactly why ID.me didn't accept them. You have to keep trying until you see the image of your documents appear in the appropriate regions of the ID.me website. Be patient and keep trying!
