Sadly, zero stars was not an option or I wouId have chosen zero. This is a privacy invasive process that puts you at risk with a third party. There are other means to verify people's identity that are not risky(like this process) and invasive which should be used.

Proving your identity is an inherently sensitive and galling process, one ID.me has proven unable to handle. Staring at a "Liveness verification" color pattern just hurts to look at, when it works at all, which seems unlikely if you're using anything but stock Chrome. The website crashes with a CloudFlare error if you try to upload a picture with too high a resolution (not mentioned anywhere) even when the filesize is within parameters. A sign that the State of NJ is making poor IT decisions.
I wasn't aware of this service until I spoke with the IRS about a data breach that a credit agency told me about and had leaked some of my information. In order to protect myself better, I reached out to the IRS to see what steps AI should take and they suggested creating an account on their website. I am glad that I did, because I feel like my information is a little more protected now. Creating the account was very easy, fast, and helpful. You can upload your documents of identity and then you will be verified with a live representative on a video chat. I liked the fact that the representative could see my face and see my documents to make a quick confirmation of my identity. The website also has a plethora of categories to choose from once you create your account. I highly recommend doing this!

Very confusing for people who live outside of US and there isn't a way to communicate by phone with an agent- only email with very brief, incomplete responses.
