I tried several times over several months to sign up to no avail. Directions poor. Finally when I gave picture of Back of drivers license it worked.
Overall poor experience for elderly person.
It was simple until I uploaded my drivers license to be verified as a primary ID. I finally figured out how to upload, not that easy for some, and the photo image was rejected. The next step was getting a "trusted referee" on a video call to verify my license. The transition to the video call was not obvious at all. I almost gave up on the whole process. When I got to the point where I thought the call was next, I had to start over again, have another ID image rejected etc., etc. I switched from the computer to my phone and there was finally a path to the video call, which went very well. My ID was verified, but it should have happened a lot sooner.
Took a lot longer than anticipated or advertised. It is of no value. They take all your personal info. Hackers will eventually get in.
ID.me makes it much easier to contact the Veterans Administration and other government sites when I need access. I feel confident in the security and privacy of my information.
I am an 83-year-old senior, and I believe this process is too complicated for many seniors that are not that computer savvy with modern technology. I wonder how many seniors that are out there will not be able to finish the procedure and just give up. Also, I am not comfortable putting private information out into cyberspace that is not a friendly place. Looking at the internet address there is no indication that ID Me is even affiliated with a legitimate government entity.
The video verification is a total wast of time. I'd already did a good job of securing the system. The process is cumbersome, intrusive, and over the top.
Unnecessary complicated. Person highly knowledgeable in IT and in technology in general had a very hard time passing your verification. It took 7 tries, errors, failed attempts, locked account just to finally verify. I can imagine how hard it's going to be for general population, basically impossible. And zero chance to even use your services for elderly. Your company and all your developers need to be fired on a spot for this horrible platform.

Easy with easy to follow instructions. Read all instructions and you will successfully complete the process. Fist time with carefully following instructions resulted in success.

My overall experience was for the most part a good one; however, I feel that either some form of telephone contact should have been available or if that's too expensive, at least some live chat feedback not one size fits all solution because people issues are different.
I had trouble with downloading the drivers license pics. I would download the first pic of the front of the license, then hit one of the buttons below it and it would jump down to the space designated for the pic of the back of the license. Thus happened again when I used the other button below the photo. No amount of manipulation would would achieve the desired effect. It is still not right.
Challenging. The switching back and forth between Social Security and ID was confusing and caused me to have to start over several times. The automatic upload of pictures was not explained at the beginning. I thought I would have to take them and then send to you from my gallery.

Using this website is something we need to do to get the info we need. It is not user friendly. It took me over a week and two trips to the SS office before I could get online. Kept getting error messages that I didn't exist or there were no compatible records for me. Just so I could get into the account I had already created.
