I am one that will not give my personal information to anyone over the phone requesting it. IDme made me feel very comfortable as the process was thoroughly explained from preparing documents needed, to the uploading of these documents to the video confirmation! My mind was totally at ease with this process and I didn't suffer the "what after" effects such as, did I get scammed, etc!

On the upload photo part it had a prompt to "take photo" but it would not let me do that. I had to open another screen take a photo, add it to my photos then go back to the ID.me screen and select it from my photos. I don't know if this was an Android issue or not since my co-worker was able to use the "take photo" from her Apple yet I was not with my Android phone.

If you have an Android phone that doesn't have height type photo capabilities the selfie part of the process will not work. Don't panic though. Just keep trying until the AI gives you new instructions on how to complete the ID process. Also, take photos of your ID documents and crop them for landscape viewing before you start. The AI does not take a photo but uploads them from your gallery on your phone. Cumbersome, but doable. Other than those two issues it went OK and I got my ID verified.
Making miracles happen. I couldn't get through to Social Security because I wasn't logged in the ID me. We kept saying I'll text you a new code so you can change your password so then I was able to go back in and finish the account would love to speak with someone about this face-to-face or phone to phone *******144
You better not let anyone else in my account I already had someone pretending to be me so that is why I started over so you better keep I my stuff safe

Propper identification of people is so important on the internet. It is comforting that our federal government uses a detailed process to insure proper identification
Needed to update password and access SSA through ID.me. The process was easy to do and easy to follow instructions. Nice to have 1 access for multiple agencies!
