Do not use unless you must! I all most had a nervous breakdown trying to jump through the hoops.
All was good until we opened the sight sent to me after interview was done! This sight always came on as IRS. If this is correct screen, please contact me by phone or Email! I am desperate to restore my SS benefits!
ID.me was super easy to use & walked me step by step through the identification process in just a few minutes. I was able to get the information I needed from the comfort of my home
The process of setting up and using ID.me was relatively easy. The process took about twenty minutes to set it up using my iPhone to upload photos of driver's license and a photo of myself. Also text messages moved the process along. Once setup was completed it was easy to use ID.me to access the IRS.gov to start my tax return. I'll be using it to access my state tax return also.

I am giving 1 star only because giving 0 stars is not an option. I went through ALL the hoops to setup my account in order to access the IRS website services. ID.me account setup was cumbersome, but not impossible. With all of the documents and information that was required, I felt secure about the process. Then, when I went back to the IRS's website to retrieve my sensitive tax information, the IRS gave me someone else's tax documents. I looked at the top of the page and noticed the logged in User is NOT ME. I click on the profile. It has my email (that I used to setup my ID.me account) and my phone number. But the name and address are not mine. The tax information I have access to on the IRS's website is not my tax information. If I can see someone else's information, who can see mine?

It was not difficult to file my taxes for 2022 through your system however it was and still is because I can't do it. Get a copy of it for my records.
