After I got logged in, I tried to access the page to order hearing aid batteries. I kept getting sent back to the sign in page numerous times. Never did get to the page that I needed.

Make sure you have plenty of time to waste before starting this process. It is not at all user friendly and makes you go round and round in circles and still won't finish the process.
I ran through login.gov through SSA website to create an online SSA account, just because it is the first option in the list. Every thing seems fine until the process of verifying phone number. (This is also true for ID.me)
I had literally wasted so many days in trying Login.gov and finally gave up! ID.me provides an extended video call to efficiently resolve the issue.
Personal thought: the phone number on my record for Login.gov and ID.me had been obsolete for a long time (>15 years). Trying to send any verification code to that number seems funny, if not stupid. I bet I am not the only person having this issue. The methodology of trying to match the phone number in the verification process should be revised in order to make it morevconvenient for genuine people.
It was extremely difficult to navigate. Required several attempts before I was able to get some one to help. Went to SSA for any appointment for help and they said they nolonger can provide help. Ver difficult fory peers older people
Signing up and verifying your identity was easy and simple. Instructions are understandable and the process is fairly quick. If you need this type of service, you won't regret signing up.
They harassed me till I answered a survey and I didn't care for the service. It is necessary only to review Social Security benefits.
Awful, poor software, poor instructions, contradictory in places and times out inappropriately, I youi really need a form in a hurry forget it, they mail them, and won't send them to where you might want them or if that is the only place you can receive mail. Be prepared to pay for the service.

ID me has simplified the process of signing in repeatedly into multiple websites and having to re-enter my secured information repeatedly. It gives you peace of mind in knowing that not only is your information secure, but the users on the other end are verified as well. I can breathe a little easier as I enter new sites because this service is extremely secure.
If everything goes well, it might be a smooth sailing. However any hiccup results in cryptic error messages, which takes hours to figure out and days to correct.
Unfortunately IRS made this the only way of getting into their system, so now we're stuck.
This service just increases your footprint online with uploaded IDs and other info.
Everybody claims their system is secure till it is being hacked. I already have half a dozen free credit monitoring services running compliments of failed "secure" networks.
Went to IRS to access my tax info and this private company forced me to give them my biometric data in order to use the government website.
I'm appalled and disgusted that private companies are being used to access basic government services.

I could not opt out of anything they demanded such as looking into my Credit Files, taking live pictures of my Face, demanding access to other confidential data.
This is how identity theft happens. I had NO choice but to surrender to this invasive process.
The experience felt like being Mugged, and having a Gun placed at your head and being stripped naked by masked Captors. They even demanded access to my Credit Reports.
The entire process is rife with inferential and potential threats to one's Safety and Security in order to be able to obtain your SSA information.

I'm not crazy about using technology, but using ID.me was simple & quick to set up & use and it's safe. I learned about ID.me years ago when my husband registered for his veteran service status in order to get SeaWorld tickets. I felt very comfortable using this service.
I am a corporate owner/CEA and have used ID.ME for my corporate PR and Tax payments for 2 years now; I have NEVER had a problem with getting into my account, NO technical issues or TRY AGAIN LATER. I ask for access, they do their thing and I am in... doing what I need to do.
****NOW I have personal issues & I was given 2 options by my vendor to create my accounts: Because of my history with this company, I chose to use them for personal too... process was a bit more lengthy but I would rather have that for security purposes. Process was seamless and they did what they needed to do for me... and again, I got into my new accounts seamlessly.
NOTE: NEVER a technical issue with getting into my accounts using this company***those issues infuriate me; I would NOT continue with them if there were... I would switch! No need to switch here!
