System works fine. I had a little trouble uploading my ID but once I figured it out but it wasn't the problem with the system, it was my problem for not carefully reading the instructions.
At first I had a difficult time getting document verified but once went to the video call it was smooth and was a quick process
I signed up for this because the government claimed it was the best and most secure way to contact them. Every time I've tried the system it failed to recognize me, so I gave up until it was the only way to contact the IRS to get my refund going. My password failed. My 12 digit ID code they gave me failed. Using my Google account that had previously been linked to the system failed. Uploading pictures of my IDs failed (no reason given). Finally after a brief wait, they hooked me up with a video chat, so a live operator could verify my documents. I changed my password, but have zero confidence it will work next time I try to use the system.
Agent is very professional and gave instructions how to go to website and fill up the application for property tax relief. I was able to finish my property tax relief forms.
Don't use if you don't have a smart phone. ID.me is useless if you don't. NO! Same crap as trying to confirm my cell phone number.

I've been using ID. Me for many years. It's very widely used. Most government agencies require you to use it. I've found a few civilian agencies ask if you have it they would prefer you to use it.
