When trying to upload a driver's license on a smart phone, do NOT choose 'camera" or " video." Take front & back photos of license or other ID ahead of time to download into your phone camera's picture storage & then select the "media" icon for uploading the ID photos, avoiding ID.me's messaging that it cannot find its own website.

ID me is a great service when compared to searching all the Federal govt sites and choices. But there is still an issue with limited issues/choices offered. I have a fraud issue to report to the IRS. There was no way to choose or suggest a subject not offered on the site. I still ended up going to the internet and searching for required forms to file with the IRS. But for what it offers it is very useful.

Creating an ID.me.account to have my identity verified was so easy. They provided me with a PIN or Code for me to provide it to the Social Security representative that was going to help me.

Spending to much time to get my docs upload right, however after this the rest was not that bad.
I would like to suggest that it could be a government department dedicated just to help people to sign up, educated people well.

How was lucky I had a laptop with a funcional webcam, so I could finish the process. I think what would happen If I couldnt use a laptop.The lady who make the video call was very polite and helpfull.
