Using 2-factor authentication (2FA), it ensures that you are properly authenticated, as you attempt to access the systems, you are authenticated as having the correct credentials for access to a given system, and your request(s) to access the apps/data are also authenticated. Signing up for ID.me was a breeze, very easy & simple. Once I finished the last step it connected me immediately to my SS account which had been locked out my reach for months due to an error with my login credentials.
Once you're registered, it is amazing how much personal data is available just from my VA records. Tomorrow, I will explore further. I have an issue brewing with IRS and SSA. The reduction of SSA benefits via the IRS tax year 2023 computations is my problem. Hopefully, ID.me will aid me in this dilemma.
