Don't bother

** if you happen to see these reviews before actually using id.me, please: don't do it. It's not worth the time, effort, and putting very personal info at risk. **

As far as i'm aware you're not going to get a real person on the line. I know a lot of people are coming to id.me through unemployment assistance organizations right now and i can tell you you're not going to get help from anyone at id.me.
If your unemployment assistance agency has the option to file a new claim through phone, you might as well just keep repeatedly calling that agency's number until you're actually able to get someone on the line. I understand how painful this process is, it took me over a month to get to this point.
Looking at id.me's official twitter, it looks like they'll give you a response if you reply to and/or DM them. I can't say this is any form of a support line however, and i don't know what results people get afterwards. I'm just stating what i'm seeing here

My personal experience with id.me is the same as everyone else here.
They ask for personal information for verification, i hand it over, and they somehow have problems verifying it and ask you to wait to speak to a live agent. I thought the verification issues was just me doing something wrong or maybe i just had to try again, but it tells me each time to speak to a real agent. I have also waited hours to days, and no one has come to help.

Honestly i feel really embarrassed for trusting id.me so blindly, just because it's approved and used by the EDD here. They take very personal information, and then can't verify you... and then what? Do they just keep it? I'd really like to know what they do with these photos and information, because i regret ever using it. If there's a way to opt out and delete your account with id.me, please let me know.

There is zero customer support. I tried to handle an issue over a week ago and it would have been fixed had their cheeky little email of "help will be with you shortly" putting me off for days. Now as I was trying to avoid I am unable to get food for the entire weekend and my 6 year old is sick and we can't go begging for food let alone get medicine. Thanks for totally screwing us. We will also be homeless on Monday as I mentioned on around the beginning of may. Pathetic. At least don't sent that condescending email when you can do your job. I could have made other plans but now you left us in a domestic violence situation where we can't afford live where we were safe.

This place is a nightmare. I have had my ID held up for 8 weeks now and since lost my home, my car, and about to lose my kids if they dont' verify my ID so i can get my checks. No phone number to call. The SUPPORT email is a bot and just says they are working on the issue, not sure they even know what the issue is before they say that. I am just at a loss for all of the issues I have had with this place and cannot believe they are still being paid, to do the terrible performance they are doing at verifying people. It is insane to me.

The worst company

My view on id.me they are the worst company every you tey to get help and there is no one to help or talk only message that never get addressed waiting on id.me me and my family are in a house eith no lights and i been trying to contact somebody since 4/20/2021 and still haven t been contacted

THis is a bad APP

I would like to Know how the states of california and texas unemployment let this ID.Me handle the ID verification, did they check the reviews, I hope they are getting the service for free.

The State of Indiana uses ID.ME to "verify" identities in unemployment claims. I was unable to upload photos of my driver's license even after taking a pictures and following instructions (after it appeared to accept them) and the webcam "selfie" it insisted on did not function. If the state of Indiana's intent is to deprive people of unemployment benefits by throwing up impossible hurdles to get past, ID.ME is perfect! Even after I provided all the documentation of my identity the state requested, they still told me that wasn't good enough, and that I had to use this terrible system that I'm certain people are getting kickbacks from. Way to make honest people feel like criminals, Indiana.

Too slow
May 13, 2021

It's been over 5 weeks now since I submitted all the required identification for review. Still has not even been reviewed. This company has my unemployment account locked up and I can't receive any benefits until they clear my id, so yes I'm pissed! If they don't have enough people to operate this system they need to hire more or concede their contract with federal and state governments.

This app is one big joke you can't even get a real person to talk to you they respond to your email that you wrote them instead of spoon responding to the problem you keep getting we going to fix it but never get fixed get ticket numbers for what is real bad it's real frustrating and it's as if it's just a thing to where you won't be able to get your benefits that's all it is it's just don't stop know no kind of fraud

Supplied them with everything while risking my privacy/confidentiality. They partnered with NJDOL. Waste of time and effort! No support after providing everything from my own internet protocol address, own phone number - scan of my face and recording of it, sending of passport, providing all my private confidential information from my own home computer. They CANNOT verify my identity and there is ZERO support. Horrible, frustrating and futile!

Crappy Service

I have been trying to gain access to the VA system for a month. Their online instructions do not work and you cannot speak to a live person. I receive an emails stating my issue was resolved, Which it was not. I responded to that fact and received another email with the same online instructions "that don't work".
This time the email had a phone number. I called it, but... it refers you back to the online instructions. SMH.

I am a person who within millions of people who are receiving benefits to help them eat and support themselves during the hard times that people are going through right now and this company not being able to prove and put things into place that are supposed to be for ID me and responses to contact support zero help has left me with being evicted no food and I think that they took on a responsibility that they weren't able to handle

I waited 6 hours. Once the video call said it was connecting to a representative, I waited another 30. I thought I was finally going to speak to someone and then the screen loaded and SENT ME BACK TO THE WAITING SCREEN FOR 4 more hours. This is devastating for someone who hasn't gotten paid in 2 months and is sick with covid. How can this be real life. How can this be a real.

This company is worthless. I had issues from the start. Every step of the process was horrid. They kept pushing me back to the website saying follow the prompts. When I finally got a phone help session they could not even walk me through their process. If they cant even make their own system work, how can they expect anyone on the out side to make it work. It has been 2 weeks of me dealing with this now. I have submitted 3 request for help none of have been answered. The only reason i get anyone on the phone, is that i keep calling. Now at my unemployment office I wait for the staff here to see if they cant get this resolved. I recommend to everyone call your government officials and speak out against the use of ID ME as they do nothing but cause problems.

Uploaded all of the required documents, was in the queue for over four hours. Rep decided to "hang up" and put me back in the queue, saying the birth certificate was invalid. Didn't even let me know what needed to be corrected, just threw me at the end of another three hour queue. Apparently I took the pic in landscape, which is a joke because I was going to have to hold up all of the documents in the video chat. Did finally get the validation resolved.

Never respond to emails. I waited 8 hours to get to a video call with someone and she asks me to send email to support. I did the last few weeks, no response no response no response! Only automatic emails no live person to resolve issues! I've been hold up here too long unable to complete my UI application. Someone please do something about this company! I will write to White House! No service! But it hold up people's files!

I am a fan of all security, especially cyber-security. So much that my phone is useless to me due to multitudes of unknown callers daily. I suppose congressmen get paid big bucks while protecting the rights of every yahoo with a dialing apparatus. Back to specifics about id.me. I read about hackers accessing "secure" data and distributing it often. Clever terminology like 'cloud', ocean, and web-farm are just a way of saying your info on another man's computer. Reading this company's self determined accolades might lead you to believe your data is well protected. Maybe it was on day one. After that, it is just bait for nefarious hackers to try to get. All I wanted was to be able to continue ordering my LIFE SAVING prescriptions online. Looks like that ship has sailed. My fear is that in the future I want be able to prove that I am me.

A LIVING HELL!

CA's Employment Development Department hired ID.me to verify unemployed people like me after they (CA EDD,) got hacked back in 12/2020. As instructed I went there to verify, and their website was not working halfway through the process. I told them about this in Jan. And since have received nothing but emails from "Customer Support" saying they are overwhelmed with emails and will get back to me. This has gone on for FOUR months, which means I have had NO INCOME FOR FOUR MONTHS due to them! A living hell! Thinking that maybe they cleaned up their act, I went to their website, and now, you cannot even find a button to verify using documents or for a video verification! Instead, you are overwhelmed with article after article! Getting desperate, I finally sent three verification documents to the CA EDD by registered, certified mail THREE TIMES. Nothing! This company deserves to be put out of business and go straight to hell... which is where those they were supposed to verify will be waiting for them to mete out the justice they so richly deserve!
