The system for prescribing controlled substances is cumbersome and frustrating. From the point of view of a prescribe r, there ought to be an option in which said prescriber would be permanently authenticated without having to be authenticated anew each time he or she has to write a prescription for a controlled substance. Using "triplicates" in the "old days" was certainly simpler and infinitely more efficient.
