Everything was quick and secure but one needs to have a bit of technical skills to get through all the steps.
I had to to convert my Driver License PDF files to. Jpegs and the area to receive a text message to a German cell phone number did not work. So I had to use my US cell phone number to get the verification process finished. Thank goodness my Mom (91) was there to verify my phone!:-)

Over all, it wasn't too bad, considering I was able to verify my identity from home. I don't feel too comfortable about how much information I had to give them, and for some reason it was quite difficult for my identity to be verified.

If you're trying to sign in and you end up with ERROR D0200, you might have to sign in using a 3rd-party site like Google, FB, or Twitter -- the "contact us" route didn't really get me anywhere.
Once signed in, though, ID.me was easy to use and I got things done. Time will tell how secure it was or wasn't.

Using the ID me was probably as simple and fast as responding to an email. There are easy to follow instructions clearly laid out. I am at ease knowing its secure as you upload your photo ID then scan your face so someone cannot pretend to bed you to use it.
