It was a hassle to get verified the first time. But, it did assure me that no one was going to steal my identity through ID.me. If you had facial hair in your photo ID and since had it removed (or visa versa) then the facial recognition to it won't be able to verify you. My suggestion is everything needs to be on point and matching including your appearance. When it's established, it is very easy to use.

Overall it was a little annoying that i couldn't get verified on my own even after i provided all the proofs and documents. Once i had a video chat with an agent and again provided all my paperwork to him it went alot smoother. I finally got verified!

What a great idea for verifying identities for websites that contain information that should be secure. I am confident that because ID.me was used to verify my identity before I logged into my personal internal revenue service information online that no one would be able to get into that account unless they were me.
