I really enjoyed using the app until I decided to try their cash back extension. Around Thanksgiving time, I noticed two bonuses on my Ibotta for $10 and $5 back after spending $50 online via their app, extension, whatever. Had to get something at Ulta, so I downloaded the extension and was supposed to get 3% cash back as well. About two weeks later, noticed the bonuses and cash back never came through. No biggie, I could just e-mail them right? Not only would it take them at least a couple days to reply, but it felt like I was going through a never-ending loop. One person even wrongfully thought I was trying get in-store bonus from an online receipt. Had me send them the e-receipt like 3 times even though they could have just scroll back to see it? Almost a month after (no joke) placing the order, they explained in a snobby attitude that the bonuses cannot be combined with coupons (which is fine, my mistake). Then said as a "one time courtesy", they have given me the 3% cash back. Hmm.you mean the cash that I was supposed to receive anyway? Saw it on here that many people are actually having the same problem. Lesson learned. I will continue using the app but would NEVER make another online purchase through them again.
I've been using this app for about a month now and I've earned about $21. I am now wanting to take some of that money out of the account and I'm unable to do so because it's attached to an old email address. I've contacted customer service by email as well as phone and been unable to get anybody to help me update this email, I also have a referral for $10 that I haven't seen that was to my sister-in-law. Not that it matters because I'm not able to access the money anyway. I was wanting to support this company since it was a Colorado-based company. However, I'm finding that they don't even offer their local clients any customer support
I've had an account with ibotta for years, and yes, you can get money back for things you were going to buy anyway. Somehow this is still a ripoff. You have to watch your account closely to make sure that you're credited each and every time. Over and over, I would see a status go from "pending" to just disappearing. Most of the time, I've been able to get the credit after emailing back and forth for a month. My time is also worth money, and I shouldn't have to do so much extra work on my part for ibotta to credit what they said they would. Most recently, I made a large purchase with Ulta for the ibotta rebate. They said they'd receive my order, and my account would be credited 7 days after purchase. I waited 8 days, then emailed them as it seemed once again, I would have to fight for my credit. They had me wait longer while they investigated, then more than two weeks later, they told me that Ulta said my purchase was ineligible. They had no reason why, just suggestions about common things that might cause intelligibility, none of which applied to me. And this isn't the first time they've done this to me. If their third party doesn't pay them, that is their problem. My agreement was with ibotta. Their agreement with Ulta is their problem. The bigger problems are easy to spot, but if you look closely when you submit grocery receipts, they're constantly "accidentally" missing credits. This company is blatantly lying and not fulfilling what they promise.
I have bought A LOT of items on Ibotta. It is fun to try new products. I check the bar code in the store EVERY time to make sure I am buying the item getting money back. It is then easy to take a picture of your receipt and the message "you earned $20.36" (or whatever) comes back. THE REASON FOR 2 STARS IS THAT YOU RARELY GET THAT MONEY. You will then receive a lower amount and if you are not on top of every receipt, you will get ripped off. I then have to file an error, take pictures of the item and the bar code and resubmit EVEN THOUGH IT WAS RIGHT WHEN SUBMITTED. I do not know why the amounts earned are lowered except that there is fraud in Ibotta. So if you are willing to do the followup EVERY TIME, then you can use it and get what you are owed. But you have to be willing to put in the work. I often wonder if the companies paying for Ibotta know how we are ripped off. One more thing to add - when they "forget" to give you the money and make you go through hoops to prove you bought it, they also DO NOT GIVE YOU CREDIT FOR THE ITEM AGAINST ANY BONUS $. Bonus money is when you buy 15 things, you can earn another $5. But when Ibotta screws up, you get double screwed. I really think I should start contacting the companies using Ibotta to let them know it is suspect
The app does exactly what it says it does! Receipts=money(: It's like an emergency savings account. I just let mine continue to ad up until I'm either really low on funds or an unexpected expense comes up. I love it!
Ibotta used to be great. They promptly gave you cash back, and customer service was top-notch. I've had seven issues with them not crediting me for offers and bonuses in the past month. To make it worse, some of the issues I've had have gone on for nearly two weeks. I have one that has been going on for 10 days. Customer service does not look into the history of a matter and requests the same information over and over and over... Something has changed in their company. A number of complaints on the BBB and elsewhere attest to this.
Estoy aprendiendo a usar la aplicación, con lo poco que he usado la aplicación ya obtuve mi primera ganancia que muy pronto usare.Gracias a esta maravillosa aplicación.
Ibotta is my favorite app.love the fact you can cashout your earnings and there is always something on my shopping list that's on ibotta
Like most apps, the more you use it, the more you discover what's available. While there aren't as many offers that appeal to me for specific grocery items (although I have found several even at Walmart) the cash back just from shopping at stores really adds up.
Also the digital gift cards are RACKING it up for me. New specials pop up all the time, like 5% cash back at REI, but I saw some with 15%. YAY. It was worth a couple extra clicks to get cash something that I needed anyway.
The other biggie has been Viator. I usually book tours with various apps when on vacation, but now I use them exclusively and have earned over a hundred bucks on fun tours that we had planned to do anyway.
I certainly won't get rich using ibotta, but since I enjoy online shopping and bargain hunting, it's totally worth it.
If you ever get a new phone they will close your account and keep your money. This place is a scam!
They didn't credit me for my saved offers. Had to keep emailing as they have no contact #. It's been over a week and I still can't get my funds cashed out. Fetch is easier.
I like this app because it has a wide range of vital stuck to shop for Answer my stuff that not all sites
I have just joined, been very exciting to see the money grow. There was a few challenges but have figured it out.
I've been doing Ibotta for 3 months and just this month they have been leaving out cash back I've earned. So I contacted ibotta care and to which they reversed all my credit putting my account in the negative. Half the products you try on this site suck! It's not worth the time and money you spend.
This is really the easiest deal app to use and it's super simple to rack up money with deals and bonuses. Just keep your goals in mind - only buy things you want to use unless you plan on going in deep to stockpile and resale. Redeeming the cash back is also the fastest and easiest I've found. It's almost immediate.
I love this app! As a mother of 3 I'm always looking for ways to save. This has been a great discovery!
I like ibotta and saved over 30.00 (I am not able to take it out yet because it said I had to wait 48 hours), but it's difficult to navigate. I used it for the first time a day ago, it didn't get all my savings from the receipt and I had to manually add some. I'm not even sure how I did it. It can be very confusing. They really need to upgrade this app so it's more user friendly.
I have used Ibotta for almost two years and I have had only one issue with not receiving cash back on an online order. When I opened a ticket they were very prompt in response and they corrected my cash back and even found items that I missed myself. I average $80+ a month using the app! If you do it right, you can earn some great extra pocket money by doing what you already do anyway! It's awesome!
Really love the app! They make getting cash back easy and their customer service is prompt whenever I have an issue with a product I purchased that I didn't get a credit for. I highly recommend!
This app is not worth your time, I had $320 in there and they deactivated my account. Said it was under audit Then they close it. So I lost the $320 and they get to keep the money and still get the money from the manufacturer. What awful app. So just be weary of this app.
Answer: Absolutely so true! I earned up just over $100 and when I went to cash out they said I was fraudulent YET I HAVE EVERY RECEIPT and all submissions were valid. It took me months to get to this amount. Hmmmmm Class action anyone?
Answer: Because they deny certain purchases due to cost! It's become a scam!
Answer: I tried to withdraw money for the first time and it said my account was locked because of multiple attempts which was not true.! I sent 5 requests for help in a week and they finally responded by deactivating my account and keeping the 360.00 that took me months to accumulate. They claim I tampered with a date on a receipt and I just crossed off the account number. So they can keep my money that is mine. How can I get my money back?
Answer: Sorry Jenna bit it seems like you're kinda late for that rebate a few years actually. I'm pretty sure that ibotta have 100% absolutely forgot about you and by not I'm sure you forgot about too. :)
Answer: Go to your $amount and cash out and it will say bank or gift card.
Answer: Why don't any product receipts add extra bonus for us?
Answer: You have to email the morons that run their customer support at least 3 times before you'll get the proper amount credited to your account.
