Houzz Reviews Summary

The company's reputation is mixed, with notable strengths in product quality and delivery efficiency, as many customers express satisfaction with their purchases and the overall aesthetic appeal of items. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in handling issues related to delivery options, billing disputes, and product defects. Customers frequently report difficulties in reaching support and receiving timely resolutions, leading to frustration. While some patrons appreciate the extensive product selection and smooth purchasing experience, the inconsistency in service responsiveness and problem resolution highlights areas for improvement in their customer service approach.

We had a fantastic experience working with Northern Construction Tile (Hector and Marco). They helped us sort through the many porcelain slabs available to choose the best one for our kitchen remodel. They quoted us a very compatible price for the product, delivery and installment of our new kitchen counter tops. They delivered on time and did a fantastic job installing it. The crew was clean, polite, punctual and precise. We are 100% happy with the outcome.

I ordered 2 bathroom faucets 6 weeks ago. One worked fine, the other dripped. I made 2 complaints before anything was done. Then, the thing that was done was to send me parts for the faucet. How many places send you defective merchandise and then tell you to fix it yourself? There was no paperwork stating why these parts were sent and no instructions on how to install. Just some parts that came in the mail with no explanation. I tried to install them and the drip became worse. I complained again and got an email saying essentially "Sorry" and we'll get to it when we can. That was almost a month ago. Since then I have replied to the email repeatedly and filled out 3 more online complaints. I have heard absolutely nothing. Meanwhile, I can't use my bathroom sink and the defective faucet is cluttering my house. This is the worst place to do business I have ever dealt with. I wish I could give negative stars. STAY AWAY from this company if you wish to control your blood pressure.

I ordered a pair of chairs April 3. They were delivered April 10. So far, so good, right? Then I opened the boxes, and one of the chairs was completely wonky in the front. I immediately contacted Customer Service. They asked for photos, which I provided. That was 13 days ago. I have written several more emails, and they asked for photos of the box, which I also provided.

I don't feel at all hopeful that they will pick up the defective chair, and provide a replacement. DO NOT do business with Houzz. Their customer service is non- existent, and I'm kicking myself for not doing my due diligence on this company before spending my money there.

I posted a review on how to clean the fridge coils with a leaf blower instead of using a coil brush. When I typed on their website... the text dissapperars and I saw a blank post.
I got a response from a Chris who thanked me for signing up.
This is what I sent to him... word for word... and this is the response I got from him!

"Your site stole the post I was trying to upload. The text dissappeared when typing and even my user name did not show on the post. Which is blank. Immediately a post showed under a different name using my idea.
I am pissed off
I hope you get sued and FAIL!"

They are HORRIBLE and lack customer service. Once they ship an order, they wash their hands Nd will not help you trace it. They claim that it has been delivered, when shipment has not. They will not contact carrier that they chose on the shipment. They are not worth the aggravation when there are many companies are driven to keep their customers happy. I would give them A ZERO rating.

Houzz Pro
June 12, 2020

Forget the rigged contract, and their shady auto-renew policy. The product is defective and a pure money pit where they take you money, claim you will have an account manager that will work with you. DID NOT HAPPEN. You will get leads from your geographic region targeted. DID NOT HAPPEN. In fact the two crappy leads I got from this Flim/Flam organization in a 12 month period was for moving jobs. I have a retail furniture store not a moving company - they could not even control the types of leads I got. Once they take the small businesses money that go dark, offer no support and no results. This is one of the biggest ripoffs I have ever come across in 13 years of business.

Snake oil salesman to small businesses. Ripoff artists. Terrible support. And a terrible contact designed to ripoff the business on a continual basis. Nobody should every take their marketing call, give them a dime or support their website in any way shape or form. How else can one express how borderline conman-like this outfit operates. Advise all business to stay clear of this terrible organization.

We've always like what we've seen on this site. Didn't know if we wanted to spend as much as we did with this company but they had a return policy that looked good. Until we received our $800 bathroom cabinet. We open ONE box and that's it. To see that it's not the right color we really wanted. Now we try to return it, just to find out that now we have to pay $288 to return it. Also they're going to refund our return MINUS the delivery charge back to them. So I'm not even getting my full money back to order something else from them. Not good!
So unexceptionable! This Was the first and last time we ever order from this company. I'm seeing why this company his only getting 2-2.5 star ratings.
We don't write many complaints, but we wanted to let people know about this cheesy policy that they don't disclose.

I'm a small business owner and paying Houzz a monthly fee for advertising.
Since we lost our income now, we asked Houzz to hold our billing until after this crisis is over and we can get back to people homes and work.
Their respond was only one month free or 4 months penalty if we canceled now.
I don't think that a big company like Houzz should take advantage of small businesses these days.
I will not continue using them in the future and will not Recommend them to our clients anymore.

Dishonest company
June 12, 2020

Houzz is one of the worse companies I've ever dealt with. I purchased 5 Nuevo bar stools from the company but I received a cheap knockoff from China. I informed Houzz of the misleading advisement and they've done noting to resolve the issue. At this point they won't even respond. To make matters worse the vendor is still advertising the bar stools on their sight as a Nuevo product. I'll never purchase anything from Houzz.

Have you dealt with a mortgage before? If the answer is yes, then you fully understand just how stressful the mortgage process is. Continue reading this article and you can find the present mortgage market.

Get pre-approval so you can figure out what your payments will cost you. Comparison shop to get an idea of your eligibility amount in order to figure out what you can afford. Once you have you decided on the amount of monthly payments, it will be easy to figure out your monthly payment.

Prior to applying for a mortgage, try checking into your own credit report to make sure everything is correct. The past year has seen a tightening of restrictions on lending, so improve your credit rating so that you have the best chance to get qualified for the best loan products.

You have to have a long term work history to be granted a mortgage. A majority of lenders need at least 2 steady years of solid work history in order to approve a mortgage loan. Switching jobs often may cause your loan being denied. You never quit your job during the loan application process.

Your application can be rejected because of any changes to your finances. Make sure your job is secure when you have stable employment before applying for your mortgage.

Make sure you find out if a property has decreased in value before trying to apply for another mortgage. Even if your home is well-maintained, the bank might determine the value of your home in function of the real estate market, and that may hurt getting approved for the mortgage.

Make sure that you collect all your financial paperwork on hand before meeting with a home lender. The lender is going to need income proof, banking statements, and every other financial asset you have in document form. Being organized and having paperwork ready will speed up the application process.

Make extra monthly payments whenever possible. Additional payments will be applied to the principal of your loan.

Do not let a denial keep you from searching for a mortgage. One lender does not doom your prospects. Keep shopping and looking for more options. You might find a co-signer can help you get the mortgage.

The interest rate will end up spending on your mortgage payments. Know about the rates and how increases or decreases affect your monthly payment. You might end up spending more than you can afford if you don't pay attention.

Balloon mortgages are among the easiest loans to get approved. This loan has a shorter term, and you have to get the amount owed refinanced when the loan has expired. This is risky due to possible increases in rates can change or your financial health.

Before buying a house, it is important to understand what you need to know to secure a mortgage. You can't waste your time searching one out or dealing with a bad mortgage. Instead, you want a mortgage that is going to fit your budget, and you want a company that is going to take care of you.

April 19, 2020

Purchased 2 towels. Easy. Not. Didn't know come from separate places and be so complicated. Web stocker sent wrong item. Easy to return. No! Not like on page at all. Low quality. Very thin and gave me wrong item. They wanted photos, paper work, code, when they made the error. Took month to finally get a retun frow towels. Worse most complicated web ever made. Don't buy from them. It wont happen and you'll be disappointed. Only reason give 2 stars finally after month getting return.

Always a problem! Items are back-ordered with no warning, no phone contact for sellers, they don't respond to emails and God help you if you need to make a return. Houzz takes 3 days to respond to emails and while you can call them you'd better get the name & extension of the person you are dealing with as you will likely need to follow up several times. Returns are a nightmare and they have exorbitant returns fees which are not fully disclosed. I have ordered from them several times and this will be my last for sure.

I wrote a review on a contractor that took our money, caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to our home and kept us strung-a-long for almost 8 months. At that time, we had to hire another contactor to repair and finish the former contractors' work. It cost us almost our entire savings. It was a horrible experience. And, we are still trying to recover.
Well, in order to help others' to not go through the same ordeal, my husband and I posted reviews on several web-sites. The contractor continues to try to have it removed. Well, for the most part, he has been unsuccessful but not on HOUZZ! Houzz was quick to remove my review. By doing this(and by possibly removing my husbands'), it gives this contractor a perfect review. WHAT? Now, how is HOUZZ able to explain that to the next family that loses their "savings"?

I am providing the review to let everyone know what HOUZZ pulled:
Please do your due diligence when hiring this company. My husband and I hired GCH Construction Group, represented by Josh V. back in April 2019, to make attic space into a media room. Josh V., the owner and operator of GCH Construction Group, stated that the total job would take around 3 weeks. Well, by August, they were nowhere near done and rarely were even making an appearance. In fact, Josh V. disappeared all-together.
When he returned, a month later, we gave him the opportunity to complete the work. Afterall, GCH Construction Group (Josh V.) was already paid. Well, that proved to be yet another mistake. Their work was so sub-par that we had to hire another contractor to repair and finish our room. GCH Construction Group damaged our AC, left "hot" wires on the ceiling of the room, tore-up the duct work, ran copper tubing along the roof, made several of the walls uneven, used the wrong paint colors, ruined the new stairs, did textured walls (although the contract said level 5), mis-measured so the room was VERY uneven, and so many more costly mistakes.

It is now March, and we are still suffering from the turmoil that GCH Construction Group, represented by Josh V., inflicted on our lives. Thanks to his (their) incompetence, we have wiped out our savings and are trying to recover. Don't put yourself in our situation. When in doubt, please, do your due diligence. The information is out there, just do a little digging to make an informed decision.

My wife Kathy and I hired Crystal to help us with the interior design of the house we were building in the Canterwood community in Gig Harbor Washington. Crystal presented us with design concepts and ideas that brought together and completed the entire house just as we had hoped for. Her knowledge of the latest materials and interior design was more than impressive. Throughout our construction Crystal was there to help us with everything from interior color, tile, stone and carpet. She is a complete professional and truly understands how to work with homeowners. For those who are planning or are in the process of building or remodeling the task can be fun, expensive and humbling all at the same time. You will want someone you trust and can work with. We highly recommend Crystal Delgado and her Company Signature Design and Cabinetry.

Houzz seller sent me the wrong product which is extremely similar visually but 1/3rd the cost. I tried for a month to sort out the issue as the product part numbers and makers are completely different. Neither the seller or houzz will call or write me back after several attempts. This is fraud.

Buyer Beware
March 30, 2020

Purchased a $1300 dollar vanity and paid extra for room of choice delivery. Was supposed to be delivered last Thursday. Took day off. Finally talked to delivery company and they didn't have anyone to deliver it. Rescheduled for Saturday. Never showed up. Called Houzz. Their stance is that once it leaves their hands it is not their issue any more. Have asked for a full refund and haven't gotten anywhere yet. Don't say you were not warned. Will never purchase anything from this company again.

I ordered a rug came defective and have been fighting them ever since! I have spent so much time on the phone getting no where! They finally gave me labels for returning the rug but it's been weeks and they won't return my money! It is very stressful time consuming and ridiculous that a company can get away with stealing money! Shut them down!

Bathroom vanity looked nothing like what was purchased and then the wood legs split when we did simple installation into wall. No one will call me back from the company, totally obstructive customer service, can't get a supervisor or anyone. What a scam.
