The company's reputation is mixed, with notable strengths in product quality and delivery efficiency, as many customers express satisfaction with their purchases and the overall aesthetic appeal of items. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in handling issues related to delivery options, billing disputes, and product defects. Customers frequently report difficulties in reaching support and receiving timely resolutions, leading to frustration. While some patrons appreciate the extensive product selection and smooth purchasing experience, the inconsistency in service responsiveness and problem resolution highlights areas for improvement in their customer service approach.

Got online on May 9 to purchase a $75 gift card for my mother. Got an error message 3 times before I gave up and ordered elsewhere. On May 26, two and a half weeks later, three charges hit my credit card. I called to resolve and was told gift cards were non refundable. This would be acceptable if I actually purchased and got an instant confirmation, but I didn't. The company's customer service is non existent. A customer calls telling you they received error messages, then you should be making every effort to correct the problem
Sent away for a Plunger... expensive!... then they want top dallor to send it... the total price with mailing was $32.00... They sent wrong one... entirely differant from photo I ordered. Was sent a cheap version... so. I sent it back... had to pay.$12.00... to be deducted from my refund which I got this morning was. ONLY $16.00... I want all of my money back... I feel you scam customers this way... please... Customers... don't shop on this site... they are thieves!...
Didn't get the rug I ordered, waited for a month without ordering from somewhere else. I contacted the seller, Carpet Queen. When I looked up the company it had a one star rating. I am still waiting to get the rug. Houzz doesn't care about its customers and contracts with whoever without researching if they're even a real company. Don't order from Houzz if you want to get what you order.
I ordered a single porch swing a month ago. It still hasn't shipped and I get no response from Houzz.
I'm about to cancel the charge on my card. I wish I could talk to a live person.
Found an needed item online for sale by Houzz. Called 800# (5/22/20) to see if item was in stock. On hold 15 minutes, no representative, couldn't wait further, took chance and placed order. Later emailed Houzz inquiring if item was in stock. Finally got reply item was in stock but would not be shipped until 5/28/20 or 5/29/20. Have to wait 7 days just for the item to be sent out. If you need your item quickly this isn't the place for you.
Thank you for your review. We apologize for the delay. Your item has shipped and will be delivered within your delivery window! Enjoy!
Jim and the JRC staff were very professional through the entire large asphalt project. Jim is very knowledgeable an understands the engineering of asphalt and water drainage. Everything Jim said he would do was done exactly as stated and extremely neat and professional resulting in a great looking job.
I purchased Chinese chinoserie wall stencils. They were not inexpensive, around $140 with shipping. According to product information, they should have been easy to use. I followed directions, two options of applying stencils to wall, and neither worked. Stencils were too heavy to adhere to walk with repositional adhesive spray. Apparently, Houzz doesn't not assist with returns and said Cutting Edge Stencils manufactured the product and would deal with the return. I just received an email saying they would not return my money since I had already tried to use the stencils. This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced. An at home project intended to spruce up my bedroom ended on a sour note. This was an expensive lesson. I will never recommend Houzz or cutting edge stencils up my artist community.
Thanks to Houzz, We are able to find company who help us in kitchen re modeling and bathroom repair...
The worst customer service I've ever experienced. 2 emails over a couple of weeks
Have been ignored. Currently on terminal hold listening to how important my call is.
Merchandise 2 weeks late at this point. Will never buy from again.
Hi John,
We are experiencing higher than normal call volumes and are so sorry for the wait. We are happy that we were able to resolve your concerns.
Stay Safe!
We honestly are trying not to order from Amazon so we started shopping on other sites. Ordered some items from Houzz. Ordered faucets and a sink for our bathroom remodel. We got an email a week later saying it was shipped and to pick a delivery date for the sink. Great! The tracking info never updated for the faucets but we didn't schedule a delivery time for the sink. That time came and went, so we called and got it rescheduled. It took a month to get to us.
It didn't look like the pictures and it came damaged. We sent in pictures to Houzz and then next day got contacted by their vendor so we sent the pictures again. We emailed back and forth and just finally asked for a refund. Waited for another few days and didn't hear anything so had to call again and go through it with another rep before we could get the refund. Of course, now I have to wait for the vendor to call us to pick up the old sink before the refund will be given and we don't have a date on that.
In the mean time, we asked about our faucets multiple times and all we got is "That's weird. Hmm we will have to let you know." Well they took our money 3 weeks ago but we have no faucets and they can't tell us where they are. Uhmm ok? So we just got a refund on that too. So this was first time ordering from Houzz and we had 3 more items we were gonna purchase. We are just gonna look elsewhere.
I ordered a lamp from Houzz & when it came, the harp & finial were missing. I really liked the lamp & only wanted the missing parts. I called & asked for the missing parts rather than having to go through the hassle of returning the lamp. The last contact I had from Houzz was that they had been in contact with the vendor & that the parts would be shipped & I would be contacted when they are shipped. That was almost a week ago, but apparently the vendor hasn't shipped the parts yet. I've been trying for over 2 weeks to get the parts. At this point, I feel I'll either have to return the lamp or find some parts that will work myself. I feel I've been given the runaround for 2 weeks!
Or any information pertaining to my order! I ordered an item on the 4/23/2020. It was suppose to arrive on May 11, according to my confirmation email. My item is still being processed. I reached out to customer service and they emailed me as tho I was the seller, asking ME what the status of the order. I emailed back saying I was the buyer, not the seller! Still no word on my order, or even a possibility of getting a refund.
I rarely complain, let alone write a complaint, but this is getting ridiculous.
I
Used paypal express and it overwrote my shipping information (without notifying me), leading to a large product being shipped to the wrong location. Cannot return it because customer must pay for shipping for returns. Could not contact Houzz to change the delivery location. Horrible customer service. DO NOT BUY FROM HOUZZ.
I ordered equipment I needed for a research project and paid $65 extra for expedited delivery. I placed the order on a Friday afternoon and on Monday afternoon it still had not shipped. After 45 minutes on hold, i gave up and tried chatting. After 30 minutes of "chatting" at a snails pace (it took at least 15 minutes for the chatter to ask for the order number), it ended with a plan to "email the vendor to check on the status of the product". This is terrible service. They should not offer expedited shipping if they cannot deliver, especially considering how much they are charging. I guess this is an example of why amazon dominates online purchasing...
DO NOT BE FOOLED! Houzz Pro is a scam! They're happy to take your money for NO return on investment - it's a bogus service, but as soon as you request to end the subscription before the term they drop off the face of the earth! I've not had a single email reply to all my requests to cancel when my term comes to an end, so I ended up contacting my bank to stop all future payments after my last annual payment. If you're in the same position, do the same. Cancel with your bank (Note that it's always a repeat card payment not a Direct Debit or Standing Order and your bank simply need to cancel the payment) and report them to the financial ombudsman too!
It takes nearly a week for any human to respond, their chat bot is totally worthless. My first order took forever to arrive, fortunately it was well packed, yet I got charged shipping when it was listed on their website as free shipping. After FIVE attempts sending customer service requests, I got a canned 'sorry nothing we can do' response.
My fiance ordered a mirror, and it arrived smashed, worst packaging for a fragile product I have ever seen. I submitted a request for return 4 days ago, NO RESPONSE. I submitted my first of what I am sure will be MANY requests for some human help. The acknowledgement of my return request states that COVID-19 slows things down, well it didn't slow down how fast they charged her credit card, and the shipping was fast, but uselessly protective. All this company does is coalesce and present products for sale, their customer service SUCKS worse than ANY online company I have ever chosen to purchase products.
From the sales visit to installation of my new windows, it was a great experience. Vince, my salesman, spent time going over the product available and answered every question. Not my first rodeo buying windows so I actually purchased on quality of the windows and the way the company does business.
The two installers were polite, answered my questions as well and did a beautiful clean-up during and after the install. I definitely will recommend Morgan Exteriors and will use them again for future work.
No numbers for contacting CS on web site leads me to believe that the rumors are true that Houzz is on its way out, collecting as much personal data to sell and disappearing into the ether...
I have been trying to cancel our agreement with Houzz for some time only to have additional subscriptions and charges added to our account, as well as customer reviews that are not our customers!
This website is JACKED! I ordered an 8 FOOT GARDEN bridge 10 days ago. Houzz sends me an e-mail telling me the seller accidentally posted the wrong price, ( 400.00). I said OK. I REORDER from another vender via HOUZZ again, (same bridge higher price), and it too was CANCELLED! I wake up this morning to find the SAME EMAIL from HOUZZ in my inbox... Guess what? The NEW SELLER cancelled the order because they too listed the bridge at the wrong price! The SELLERS should be held accountable for prices they list in advance... It is NOT my problem they don't know how to list a price correctly in the first place... POOR customer service... Zero customer satisfaction. Now I am 10 days behind even having the bridge order placed, and my project will now be every bit of 3 weeks behind schedule once I get a third bridge ordered and shipped... Thankfully I went on HAYNEEDLE.com, and have ordered the bridge AGAIN... should be arriving by May 11th...
The 30 day return policy is absolutely bogus! Got the wrong plumbing drain part... it was not even close to Houzz's description. I requested return authorization the same day it arrived. Houzz simply ignored my request. Requested again a week later and was ignored again. Got paypal involved and that woke them up enough to get Westbend to send me another item, but it also was not close to the description in either style or dimensions. When Houzz informed paypal that a second shipment was sent, paypal closed the case.
Here I sit with two brass plumbing parts that I could possibly sell on eBay for 10% of the $$ Houzz swindled from me. The people that run Houzz are virtual thieves.
Answer: Good question Maggie. I don't think there is. I think this site is just there to help their vendor and not assist consumers in making informed decisions. I found had a contractor who had defrauded us and changed his business name on Houzz. I posted a review on his profile notifying the public of what he had done to us, and Houzz did not publish the review. I joined Sitejabber to warn the public about Houzz.
Answer: I began as a Pro on Houzz and spent $2000 on Advertising. This was supposedly for a year of top exposure. No one purchased, the couple of calls I received were people wanting to USE my service for ideas. I have since discontinued complimentary initial appointments. These people are the biggest scammers in the world! I'm still one of the Pros just to see if anything bites but I noticed they go into vendors photos and try to find similar product then they sell their products. Great way to sway your client and to steal customers!
Answer: Go straight to the top at Houzz. Ms. Adi Tatarko, CEO, Alon Cohen, Pres. If tha doesn't work, I suggest you file complaint with the Consumer Affairs Division of the California Attorney General's Office.
Answer: The Pros, at least at the beginning, were not in competition with this company (Houzz). They convinced the "Designer" world that the were strictly collecting ideas for the public and to help improve the vendors chances of being hired. Those reviews on the Pros are about the Pros, they come from their clients. About 2-3 years ago, Houzz began selling out from under all the vendors! They are SO low they have gone into the photos of the pros, look for a product they have that might be similar to something they sell and lead them away from the pro. The 1-2 stars you see here are the reviews for "Houzz" and their service but the reviews under a Pro are for that Pro. Don't be fooled... If you want the job done right, call the Pro! Listen to these reviews of Houzz and you won't get burned. Two different animals completely!
Answer: Steer clear. The advertising doesn't work, and although they originally started up as a company that would work alongside the vendors, they are now selling out from under most of them, especially the interiors decorators! They are SO low they have actually tagged products inside some of the photos of interior designers and tabbed out similar products to stay the customer away from the Pro and to purchase through them directly!
Answer: Do yourself a huge favor and find it somewhere else. Houzz contracts with third party sellers and their freight companies, they're just a middle man. What a nightmare this has been.
