I hired a contractor through Houzz based in the reviews given to the contractor. The contractor received 5 stars. Well I had a terrible experience and ultimately had to hire an attorney. Then I tried to post a review on Houzz about the contractor and they would not post it. I edited it 3 times in an effort to get it published and they kept coming up with excuses as to why they wouldn't publish. The end result the contractor still has a 5 star rating and they are far from a 5 star rating in their performance. I will never use Houzzz again as a resource as they are more focused to their referral business then they are to the end user or customer.
I was looking for a landscape designer and many of the designers I found had last reviews from over 4-5 years ago. In addition many of the companies I approached, responded that they are not accepting clients. What is going on?

Stay far away from this company last week I purchased a TV stand starting to furnish a very large house wanted to see how the quality of their merchandise was one just to let everybody know everything comes from China with that being said I never received my order houzz sent my merchandise to a different address they wouldn't own up to it and pick it up and deliver it to me actually they wouldn't do anything they wouldn't refund my money they wouldn't admit anything they knew they sent it to the wrong address I uploaded a picture of my order with the address the only address to send it to they wouldn't help they don't care you can't get anybody on the phone nobody does anything so remember if you order from them and you don't receive your merchandise there's gonna be nothing you can do so let me tell you just in case this does happe
Remember when you charge it on your credit card everybody has what's called buyers insurance call your credit card company and issue a charge back they will then investigate 99.9% of the time they're going to rule in your favor you are the one that owns the card and you are the one that spends money and pays them each month don't let these companies get away with trying to scam anybody the fact that they didn't even send FedEx to go pick up the package and bring it back to me I have all the proof and all the messages I received from and I'm more than happy to share them with everyone so again stay far away from HOUZZ

I recieved a damaged piece of furniture and called to let someone know in order to get a replacement. Houzz does not have anyone answering phones at the moment so my only option was to email. It took 2-3 days to get a response, which stated that they would need more time in order to decide if they would exchange the damaged item. Since I was ordering this for a client, I needed the piece of furniture regardless so I went ahead and ordered a replacement while I was waiting for their answer on the return. After another couple of days, I got an email saying that they would replace the damaged item and they would arrange pick up of the damaged item. I reached out right away and said that I had already ordered a replacement and asked that they just credit me for that one. I never heard back from them on that request and within a few days, I received the replacement I ordered and another one but received no credit. They also have not arranged pick up of the damaged piece. So now I have 3 items... one that is broken and 2 that I have paid for and still no credit for one of them and have not heard another word from anyone.
I understand that everyone is short-staffed but radio-silence for weeks is unacceptable, especially where a $720 credit is involved.

I was ecstatic that I found this beaded crystal fruit on here, which I'd been waiting for years to purchase from homegoods, but it never came back. I was literally screaming when I saw it on here, but the bigger ones were quite expensive.
The subscription model only works for the companies that have been on Houzz for a long time. They will take your money and continue to tell you leads will come if you get more reviews and add projects but they will always favor the older accounts over the newer ones. The salespeople don't give you the full picture, they lock you into long-term agreements and are happy taking your money for nothing in return. I've consistently followed the recommendations and best practices and have nothing to show for it. Stay away. Your marketing dollars are better spent anywhere else.

I ordered the mirror and by tracking was originally supposed to be to me days ago. I have not received it and made numerous attempts to email and no one gets back so I can't rate a product I should have received by now and haven't. I would appreciate a return call or email.

I think it's hysterical that you're asking me to write a review for a product that I haven't received yet. My order status has been order shipped for days. The tracking says the order has not even been received but the label has been created. If I ever get my product I will be surprised not happy at all with your site.

Love shopping the Houzz site! I am able to not only find what I'm looking for but also get great ideas and see what the item(s) look like in a room. The site is easy to use and chock full of ideas and products to suit every price range.
Order was originally scheduled for June 3 between 9:00 and 4:00. Was rescheduled by the carrier to June 4 between 9:00 and 4:00. Nothing was ever delivered. Waited 7 hours! Still has not been delivered!
Will not use them again!

I had checked on my order and found the shipping service lost my order. I responded to Houzz through their website and promptly received an e-mail response. Shortly thereafter I received a telephone call from customer service thanking me for my order and they were in contact with the shipping company. I also received another e-mail confirming our conversation.
From my initial website contact to final e-mail from Houzz customer service, the timeframe was only a few hours. Considering the state of affairs in our world today, this level of service, to me, is unheard of. I've never received such quick response from any order I've placed on line. This is my second order from Houzz and I am very pleased with the quality of service they've provided.

Answer: Good question Maggie. I don't think there is. I think this site is just there to help their vendor and not assist consumers in making informed decisions. I found had a contractor who had defrauded us and changed his business name on Houzz. I posted a review on his profile notifying the public of what he had done to us, and Houzz did not publish the review. I joined Sitejabber to warn the public about Houzz.
Answer: I began as a Pro on Houzz and spent $2000 on Advertising. This was supposedly for a year of top exposure. No one purchased, the couple of calls I received were people wanting to USE my service for ideas. I have since discontinued complimentary initial appointments. These people are the biggest scammers in the world! I'm still one of the Pros just to see if anything bites but I noticed they go into vendors photos and try to find similar product then they sell their products. Great way to sway your client and to steal customers!
Answer: Go straight to the top at Houzz. Ms. Adi Tatarko, CEO, Alon Cohen, Pres. If tha doesn't work, I suggest you file complaint with the Consumer Affairs Division of the California Attorney General's Office.
Answer: The Pros, at least at the beginning, were not in competition with this company (Houzz). They convinced the "Designer" world that the were strictly collecting ideas for the public and to help improve the vendors chances of being hired. Those reviews on the Pros are about the Pros, they come from their clients. About 2-3 years ago, Houzz began selling out from under all the vendors! They are SO low they have gone into the photos of the pros, look for a product they have that might be similar to something they sell and lead them away from the pro. The 1-2 stars you see here are the reviews for "Houzz" and their service but the reviews under a Pro are for that Pro. Don't be fooled... If you want the job done right, call the Pro! Listen to these reviews of Houzz and you won't get burned. Two different animals completely!

The advertising doesn't work, and although they originally started up as a company that would work alongside the vendors, they are now selling out from under most of them, especially the interiors decorators! They are SO low they have actually tagged products inside some of the photos of interior designers and tabbed out similar products to stay the customer away from the Pro and to purchase through them directly!
Answer: Do yourself a huge favor and find it somewhere else. Houzz contracts with third party sellers and their freight companies, they're just a middle man. What a nightmare this has been.
