The company's reputation is mixed, with notable strengths in product quality and delivery efficiency, as many customers express satisfaction with their purchases and the overall aesthetic appeal of items. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in handling issues related to delivery options, billing disputes, and product defects. Customers frequently report difficulties in reaching support and receiving timely resolutions, leading to frustration. While some patrons appreciate the extensive product selection and smooth purchasing experience, the inconsistency in service responsiveness and problem resolution highlights areas for improvement in their customer service approach.

Ordered a front door that cost, with tax cost, $2,980.31. It came missing 3 hinges, the front top brick molding, and the top inside casing. I informed Houzz and because they were informed 2 weeks past the 30 day return policy they said I would have to pay for the missing parts, an additional $425 + tax =$460. The door is stained mahogany but it is not actual mahogany. Thankfully, Homepot came through and cost for missing parts under $100.
We are a mid size residential and commercial glass shop. We specialize in high end work. Shower doors, mirrors, window repairs etc. We are located in a fairly small market. Not tiny, but not a major city either. This market is very "tech savvy", located conveniently right between Silicone Valley and Seattle, there is a terrific percentage of the population working from home, thus they are online a lot.
About 5 months ago, our company made the decision to move our marketing to Houzz from HomeAdvisor because of the seemingly large percentage of poor leads we were getting from HA. We paid in full for the year, with promises that they had "a large number of high end homeowners looking for professionals like us" and would start connecting us with them as soon as our payment cleared and we completed our profile. We uploaded numerous photos, wrote descriptions of the work we do, followed all their advise. Even gave them names of past customers for them to gather reviews...
Well as of today, we have not had one single lead from Houzz. Not one.
We have asked for compensation, perhaps a refund, or even partial refund, because it is obvious we were lied to. Houzz has no homeowner/clients looking for our services in this region. If I could give negative or no stars, I would. $1600 spent for ZERO RESULTS!
Contractors, DO NOT SIGN UP WITH HOUZZ
Hi,

I ordered a faucet from Houzz and they were not the ones sending it. It was a company called AffordableVariety.com. They have a terrible policy that you cannot return or get a refund for a defective product if you don't tell them within 3 days of getting it. I purchased my faucet over the holidays and didn't even get a plumber over until mid January. It worked 6 weeks. Neither Houzz nor this fly by night company AffordableVariety will stand behind it. I am just out the money. I saved the condescending and rude email from Affordable for the BBB who has a number of complaints on Houzz as well.

Promptly received two pillows and found them to be a bit off on color once in our home and while the return was approved, we had to pay the shipping... not cool with all of the options to order from that don't charge for shipping.
Hi,

Ordered a very expensive set of outdoor Bluetooth speakers to enjoy on my deck. The first warm day I unpacked the speakers and started to listen to them. One of the speakers was very distorted and the other sounded fine. I contacted customer service and was told that I had purchased 45 days ago and that I needed to send pictures of defective product? I explained that I had just opened and they were defective out of the box. I sent the picture they wanted. Now I get an email saying that they want a video.
I have a feeling that I am screwed. The speakers are packed up for return so I guess now I will unpack and send the video.
Wish me luck.
Hi Mike,
We are sorry to hear that your speaker is experiencing issues. We currently have an open support case where we are working with the manufacturer to determine if this is covered under warranty. Our team will continue to keep you updated as soon as we are able.

Anthony tiled our Bathroom and Kitchen recently and we couldn't be happier with the results. He helped us with design advice and colors. We are always getting compliments on his work. We won't hesitate to use Anthony again very professional and clean!
I decided to try Houzz Pro for our business. I wasn't nervous about giving my credit card info at the time I signed up because there supposedly is a 30 day free, no risk trial. Boy was I wrong! After 5 days, it was determined that it was not a good fit for our company so I called to cancel. I was told they could not cancel it and had already charged my account for the entire year. Then I left a negative feedback on their system and was contacted by another person. He led me to believe that he could handle the credit card charge reversal. All he did was pick my brain on how Houzz Pro could be improved and then offered me a $100 credit. He also said there was no way to return the monies.
I then went to my credit card account and found they had charged me again for the entire amount. It has been nothing buy a hassle and now I'm out almost $2800 for my "Free Trial". BEWARE!

Trying to reach customer service by phone is impossible. Or nearly. They want to you text them... and when you engage in texting no one gives you their name. I had to ask if I was dealing with a robot or a real human. I was shipped the wrong item... well actually the right item but the wrong size... I had to take photos of the item. Which I did with a real yardstick. And, they argued with me that the size was correct, if I measured from the seams. When one orders seat cushions that are 20" x 21" we expect them to be that size... not 19" x 19 1/2" and then told to measure from the seams. These people are the worst I have ever encountered in online retailing. And, then to add insult to injury, they wanted ME to pay $16 to return the wrong sized cushions.!

I signed up for Houzz pro because I wanted to make some 3D floor plans and just a few quick designs based on drawings that I had already made. For those that have an actual business, this review probably won't apply to you(completely). However, I got Houzz, and I made my 3D floor plans perfectly but the 3D rooms are limited to only houzz products which is kind of ridiculous because you aren't able to make plans that actually look good when you are limited to those furniture options. Outside of that, I am writing this review because of the cancelation process. It is $60 a month to use Houzz pro. In my original email with my free trial details, there was a link that said click here to edit subscription details. 20 days into my trial comes around, I press the link and it says "this page does not exist". So I called the customer support line 4 times, and they did not answer even though it was during business hours. I wrote 3 messages to their customer support email. I heard nothing back. Once I finally did have a response they told me they would look into canceling my subscription and then hung up. On their website, there is no place to press cancel my free trial or remove payment details. The free trial end date comes around, and even though I deleted my profile and called customer support I was billed $60.3 more phone calls, no refund, and two weeks later my account is finally canceled. Ridiculous.
We bought 2 vanity cabinets for a new bathroom and one being remodeled at about $1500 a piece. When they arrived we had them stored in our shed as the contractors were behind on our remodel. Contractors being behind schedule in the current housing market is the norm. Our bad, We did not check the items shipped, I am a small female and these boxes were cumbersome and very heavy. When we were ready to use them, mirrors were cracked and chipped. Some of the shelving was smashed beyond recognition. But we were past their window for returns. Our contractor encouraged us to ask for replacement parts. He said all of these companies know that contractors are running behind and he had good fortune getting replacement parts. Not the case for us. They charged us nearly as much for replacement parts as they would a new cabinets. We order a lot online. Occasionally something has a minor ding or chip, but never to this degree. After much arguing, and because I didn't want to spend another $3000 to go to another company, we had to buy replacement parts. They get one star only because I was forced to give at least one star. The packing and shipping was disgracefully poor. Customer service was even worse. Shameful business. They were not willing to negotiate in any degree. Not even with shipping costs. We will never purchase anything from them again. Ever!

Victoria listens. I feel my thoughts and suggestions are heard. She offers wonderful continuity and energy to our professional relationship. I appreciate her diligent follow-through and insights. Thank you!
I'm truly sad that I purchased from houzz and received defective and broken item and they didn't care to replace at all. I had proof of all boxing and items. Since I was one day out of 5 day policy. I work as a nurse and only had time to open on weekend. I paid for an item that damaged due to no fault of mine that I can't use. Worst part was the service I received

I have $1,800 wasted on 7 bar stools that are falling apart. I contact houzz with pictures they requested, return was about 90 days later, but after looking at the pictures they said I'm past the 30 day return policy. They why ask for pictures? We knew I was 90 days out. Furniture should last years without issue, especial at this price. Don't buy from this site!
Thank you for sharing your experience. We appreciate your feedback as it will help us continue to improve our processes every day.
Compony overload with the low quality products. Support is even worst. I bought the bed, parts are missing, the quality is very bed, trying to return, but its so complicated.

After paying thousands of dollars to Houzz since it was established, I feel it no longer works to provide quality leads. For whatever reason, Houzz has tried to become the end-all, be-all, and do-all for its members and no longer provides qualified referrals. I have had referrals from Houzz in the past 3 years. All of them except one have been "duds" for two reasons: (1) They don't align with my business model of a professional kitchen-bath and addition designer; (2) They don't reply even when I express interest in their project through several written messages and phone calls. This means that I've paid over $6,000 to earn $3,500 from the one client. I've expressed my dissatisfaction to Houzz many times, in feedback forms and surveys like this. There's been no reply from Houzz except to remind me of the contract I signed. It feels like Houzz is more interested in their income than helping me with my income!
I recently was sold on the business tools for my construction company. The pushy salesman called me over a period of 3 months until I finally gave in and signed up. The lead services etc. are nothing like what I was told I was getting. It's essentially a platform where you can show pictures of your work. The monthly premium is so much higher than their competitors yet they offer nothing more. Now that I'm signed up I can't even get a phone call or email back. The worst customer service I've seen in a while. I DO NOT recommend
I never ment to sign up with houzz but do to adds popping up on screen in front of a estimating program I thought I was signing up for. They were able to get me to sign with them as well as access to my personal debit account. I immediately told them I sign up for the wrong thing and to delete it and refund my money. They immediately contacted me and asked me to try for a month free and if I did not like it then I could end it. I did not use once that month and called to end but could not get through on any of the 5 customer service numbers found on there site, due to they had a "company meeting" per what there voicemail said that did not accept msgs. Since then they have repeatedly tried billing me over and over till I had cancelled my card. I have repeatedly emailed them to cancel and delete with no outcome. I finally got thru on there phone lines after I spent 20 mins on hold and 30 mins on the phone with their customer service and still they did not cancel, but instead told me I was now in contract. I've never used there service and from the looks of it there have only sent one lead of work I'd never be interested in or do any how. This company is a scam and I want nothing to do with them. I will continue to write reviews untill they stop harassing me.

I ordered from Houzz as a guest. Today I received an email that said the package was being delivered today, on Sunday and a week early! Great news. The email contained a link to Track My Package, which I clicked on. The Houzz site it took me to said to enter my phone number to track my package. After much hesitation, I entered my phone number and was taken to a page that asked me to to create a Houzz account. At this point, I was really looking for that delivery update, so I created an account. When I was done, Houzz took me to a page "Tell us a little bit about yourself", which I did. Dumb? When done, Houzz said I would get text updates on my order, which I learned to mean Future orders, because despite trying everything I could think of, there was no way to get the delivery update on my current order. To say Houzz suckered me with their lack of integrity ploy would be spot on. Really bad behavior from what I believed to be a very reputable company.
I placed an order for a kitchen cabinet first week of January. As per Houzz tracking system it still shows "Ready to Ship" and here on the 28th of January it finally arrived. The shipping company provided tracking information and still delivered a week later than scheduled. I contacted Houzz to find out where the order was and never received any response. The shipping company provided some guidance, but I was never notified about delays or progress or status of the shipment. Shipping company's website and their customer service were the only bits I could count on

Placed an order with Houzz and was immediately charged for the product. No problem so far. But then Houzz discovered that their supplier did not have the product available. This raises a couple of questions about their service. 1. Why was the item marked "Not currently available"? Most reputable web sites do this. 2. Why was the charge made before Houzz could determine that the item was indeed available for shipping? I think I'll pass up this site on future orders.
Answer: Good question Maggie. I don't think there is. I think this site is just there to help their vendor and not assist consumers in making informed decisions. I found had a contractor who had defrauded us and changed his business name on Houzz. I posted a review on his profile notifying the public of what he had done to us, and Houzz did not publish the review. I joined Sitejabber to warn the public about Houzz.
Answer: I began as a Pro on Houzz and spent $2000 on Advertising. This was supposedly for a year of top exposure. No one purchased, the couple of calls I received were people wanting to USE my service for ideas. I have since discontinued complimentary initial appointments. These people are the biggest scammers in the world! I'm still one of the Pros just to see if anything bites but I noticed they go into vendors photos and try to find similar product then they sell their products. Great way to sway your client and to steal customers!
Answer: Go straight to the top at Houzz. Ms. Adi Tatarko, CEO, Alon Cohen, Pres. If tha doesn't work, I suggest you file complaint with the Consumer Affairs Division of the California Attorney General's Office.
Answer: The Pros, at least at the beginning, were not in competition with this company (Houzz). They convinced the "Designer" world that the were strictly collecting ideas for the public and to help improve the vendors chances of being hired. Those reviews on the Pros are about the Pros, they come from their clients. About 2-3 years ago, Houzz began selling out from under all the vendors! They are SO low they have gone into the photos of the pros, look for a product they have that might be similar to something they sell and lead them away from the pro. The 1-2 stars you see here are the reviews for "Houzz" and their service but the reviews under a Pro are for that Pro. Don't be fooled... If you want the job done right, call the Pro! Listen to these reviews of Houzz and you won't get burned. Two different animals completely!
Answer: Steer clear. The advertising doesn't work, and although they originally started up as a company that would work alongside the vendors, they are now selling out from under most of them, especially the interiors decorators! They are SO low they have actually tagged products inside some of the photos of interior designers and tabbed out similar products to stay the customer away from the Pro and to purchase through them directly!
Answer: Do yourself a huge favor and find it somewhere else. Houzz contracts with third party sellers and their freight companies, they're just a middle man. What a nightmare this has been.
