The company's reputation is mixed, with notable strengths in product quality and delivery efficiency, as many customers express satisfaction with their purchases and the overall aesthetic appeal of items. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in handling issues related to delivery options, billing disputes, and product defects. Customers frequently report difficulties in reaching support and receiving timely resolutions, leading to frustration. While some patrons appreciate the extensive product selection and smooth purchasing experience, the inconsistency in service responsiveness and problem resolution highlights areas for improvement in their customer service approach.

I've been a customer of Houzz Pro for 7 months and as a small business owner (who also happens to be a sales operations manager in my 2nd life and works with databases for a living), I desperately wanted this product to work for us. We needed a way to streamline estimates and make them them more efficient for our carpentry business. From the very start, however, I found the platform to be glitchy, and frustrating to use - it's not as intuitive as they promote it to be. The item catalogue is clunky, and unless you track expenses they way they do, you'll end up keying in your own items which, again, is extremely difficult to update. When I reached out to customer service on multiple occasions with questions, feedback, concerns - their responses tended toward resistance over actually being helpful. Very frustrating experience, and this last interaction with their support team has cost them a customer for life. Proceed with caution if you are a small business owner on a tight budget and are looking for a tool to make your life easier. HouzzPro is probably NOT your answer.
I was initially earnestly skeptical and for good reason. The reviews here, there.,.everywhere are cut throat, so I hesitated, Let me be clear, I can't review this service in it's entirety yet as I've not been fully immersed or The experience to this point, so far, is off the charts. What immediately struck me was how natural the split interface felt color coded blue & green. Had a slow start trying to figure how to navigate between personal and professional accounts. I maybe slow sometimes but that was a kill joy. I couldn't exactly find where to login for Pros because with some of the accessible PRO's features available while logged off which shares profile data/information with the personal account made me think 'it's the way'. Houzz has a massive stack of features with a split personality. My thinking at the time was someone forgot to flip the switch, but that didn't sit right. I still had more avenues to explore, then at last...the login. While waiting for my brain to catch up, and not so much time, I watched most of the videos, rendered my house in 3D furnishing it with decadence. Once in the know how it got real quick which happened coincidently just 20 before the onboarding. The original zoom meet with support was a week from today. Hoping someone would cancel, I was put on standby. The following day they scheduled me 5 days later putting that person after hours. They made it happen, good for me. The 1 on 1 Webinar took me from a newbie to proficiently functional +\-1/hr.
Waiting for the paint to dry, with no more to report at this time. Seems premature for Houzz to solicit reviews, however Houzz software as a service is some kind of special. But there's room for improvement. 1) When searching for services, include local area estimates based on market data. 2) The clip feature is limited to Pros...why? Clients will spend more time...Houzz Shopping. 3) Integrate clients purchases/cart in items with clients build plan rendering a 3D model.

Although we asked our renewal to be cancelled in good time before expiry it seems that according to the small print that they call T&C they renew a month in advance without any notification, i. E. checking if the customer is really happy with the service and would like to continue.
It is the 2nd time when this is happening as we got stung back in 2016 but last year a good sales person with a great presentation of how wonderfully Houzz has changed persuaded us. The reality is very different as there is no change.

I tried to open an account with Houzz and in the beginning the guy there was nice but he didn't understand what I need, the most important for him was to take my cc and charge me without to explain what I need to do or how it's work. I tried to schedule an appointment with the stuff but now one calling back.
After a month that no one call me or no one want to help, I tried to delete my account and I got surprise how hard it's. They don't let you do it by yourself and you have to call them for that (first time that I feel like scam).
I was waited on the line over 3 hours, on the same time 2 people hang up on me the phone (one of them because he didn't understand my English).
After 3 hours I got the person to help me to do it but still he said that they can't do it and I need to wait another 48 hours before they can do something, I don't know what and they didn't explain me but they also didn't want to send me a confirmed about my request. If you just start your business Houzz it's not a place for you, they just charge you and no one really will call you back.
Save your money and time and just use different platforms for your business!
Houzz is the worst!

So I just discovered that HOUZZ has no idea how to fully describe an item on their website. And it just cost me $17.09 to find that out! May not seem like a lot of money. But I'm not a fan of just throwing away $20! Ordered a beautifully described planter, and literally in the description, it says "large". I don't know what that word means to you, but to me, it means (especially regarding a plant pot) something larger than a tiny little pot that might fit a 2" little plant in it. SO freaking disappointed it's hard to express! But $20 later, I'm now headed to freaking Fed Ex to send that tiny little thing back to them! (Like I needed another errand to run!)
Won't be ordering anything else from Houzz! Amazon may not have it all, but I'll shop local, and hopefully find something I like. But damn sure not ordering from Houzz again!
Hi,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear that your planter did not work for your intended purposes. This does fall under our Standard Return policy, in which the return shipping fees are withheld from your final refund. Should you need any assistance, please contact us at help.houzz.com.

If you decide that you can't use their service or it is not the right fit for you... they make it impossible to cancel. Hidden contract and terms on signup, and customer service is terrible about helping you cancel. You will get put into a loop of "i'll submit a support ticket for you", "why do you need to cancel", anything to not help you cancel. I used to like browsing Houzz for products and services and purchased a few nice and pricey items from them. They certainly lost my business for life.
The app won't let you do almost anything and their houzz pro website is not responsive. Meaning you can't edit or review proposals on your phone, until you sit at the desk. In 2022….it's quite non-common as responsiveness is one of the top priorities of website
I ordered a $700 area rug from Houzz. They IMMEDIATELY charged my account. At the time of my order, it said my rug would ship in 1 day and be at my house in 3 days. 7 days later, their customer service systems still showed my order as "In Process" and the order was changed to mid-October for delivery. I contacted customer service and they gave me the run around and could not give me a specific date as to when the rug would even ship. When I requested to cancel the order, of course they immediately started with attitude, and of course my money will be refunded in 5-10 days (which should never have even been charged if they didn't have the product to ship) Save your time, money and go elsewhere. Finding a number to contact them at was NOT intuitive and I suspect that is by design. Better merchants out there. Save your time and aggrevation.

Houzz.com's policies and practices are severely lacking. Customer service is a great downfall of theirs.
We ordered a bathroom vanity through Houzz. Vanity was delivered, and because the person doing the install was not yet available, we stored the vanity, unopened, in our garage. When it came time to unbox and bring in the house, we discovered significant damage to the unit. A cross piece from the front was broken, hinges were bent and there was no way to make the item usable. Notably, there was no apparent damage to the exterior of the package.
Attempts to initiate a return were met with immediate rejection and reference to the damaged item/return policy. In full disclosure, the general policy allows thirty days from receipt for return initiation, but only five days for freight shipped items. We contacted Houzz at the twenty-nine day mark. Certainly past the five days, but we thought that for an $800 item with no apparent damage to the package, there would be some leeway on Houzz's part. There has been zero consideration on the company's part, through three levels of customer service contact, and we are left with an $800 box of firewood. A company of this size should really consider working with customers in a more individual way when appropriate, rather than blindly pointing at their policies.
Bottom line, because we had a delay in the work done at our house, we opened a package a few weeks after delivery. We were presented with a fully unusable item and Houzz refuses to assist in any way, being OK with us out $800. We are planning a move in the next year or two, and will have an entire house to furnish…. I can tell you who will not be getting any of our business—Houzz. Com. This company has had the opportunity to take care of a customer and preserve future business, yet has not. We're out $800, and they will be out many $1,000's of future business.

I ordered some chairs from this site and they sent them to the wrong address, even though l had ordered items from them in the previous 8 weeks that had been delivered to the correct address.
When they did not arrive they gave me an address from 10 years ago, that was not even in my profile anymore and said they were sent there. We drove two hours to check on this and they said they did not receive anything. I called the company for a refund and they refused to refund the costs or do anything but offer a 10 % discount. Never will trust this site again.

I love this ice bucket. The anchor on it is perfect and it holds numerous beers and couple of wines.
The company Houzz, along with their Merchant Swiss Madison refused to compensate me for a defective toilet after it was discovered after 4 months of use. I was with their customer team for hours within days for over two weeks. I would caution a purchase from this company with a "buyer beware." I do believe that a toilet costing over $500 should last more than four months, considering toilets last for decades. If a company sells a consumer a defective product they should take accountability and make it right.
Hi,
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are sorry to hear about this. After review, this was reported outside of Houzz policy and is not covered under manufacturer warranty. Additionally, as the item has been installed, it is unable to be returned. However, it does look like we are going to follow up in October once replacement parts are available. I ordered 2 nightstands on June 25,2002. This first one came broken so I cancelled the 2nd one. They sent the 2nd one anyway and told me I had to pay to send the first one back. I spent $90 to return it then returned the 2nd one(that I already cancelled). Its now September 7,2022 and they still will NOT refund my money! Its terrible quality and they scam you and keep your money. I now have to file a lawsuit since I have no nightstand and no money back! This company is the worst!
Hi,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. After review, we are able to process your refund once the dispute period passes. Unfortunately, because of the chargeback filed, the ability to immediately refund your order was revoked. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. Website does not allow me to purchase listed item. Spoke to customer service. They confirmed that there is a problem with the listing. I feel they should have set to follow up to let me know when product listing problem was remedied. I have been checking a few times a day. This problem is discouraging me from puchasing this item, which is not in Houzz' interests

I have never encountered such disgusting difficult unfriendly packaging in my life. Forget about the product - my first encounter with this company through their packaging makes it clear to me they do not care about their customers. I'm sure they have probably never even tried to open their own packages. Box was impossible to open and then made a huge mess and getting the product out was like excavating and then nothing - absolutetly nothing - of the packaging was recyclable. Note even the cardboard being completely contaminated with spray foam. SPRAY FOAM - REALLY?!?!

Answer: Good question Maggie. I don't think there is. I think this site is just there to help their vendor and not assist consumers in making informed decisions. I found had a contractor who had defrauded us and changed his business name on Houzz. I posted a review on his profile notifying the public of what he had done to us, and Houzz did not publish the review. I joined Sitejabber to warn the public about Houzz.
Answer: I began as a Pro on Houzz and spent $2000 on Advertising. This was supposedly for a year of top exposure. No one purchased, the couple of calls I received were people wanting to USE my service for ideas. I have since discontinued complimentary initial appointments. These people are the biggest scammers in the world! I'm still one of the Pros just to see if anything bites but I noticed they go into vendors photos and try to find similar product then they sell their products. Great way to sway your client and to steal customers!
Answer: Go straight to the top at Houzz. Ms. Adi Tatarko, CEO, Alon Cohen, Pres. If tha doesn't work, I suggest you file complaint with the Consumer Affairs Division of the California Attorney General's Office.
Answer: The Pros, at least at the beginning, were not in competition with this company (Houzz). They convinced the "Designer" world that the were strictly collecting ideas for the public and to help improve the vendors chances of being hired. Those reviews on the Pros are about the Pros, they come from their clients. About 2-3 years ago, Houzz began selling out from under all the vendors! They are SO low they have gone into the photos of the pros, look for a product they have that might be similar to something they sell and lead them away from the pro. The 1-2 stars you see here are the reviews for "Houzz" and their service but the reviews under a Pro are for that Pro. Don't be fooled... If you want the job done right, call the Pro! Listen to these reviews of Houzz and you won't get burned. Two different animals completely!
Answer: Steer clear. The advertising doesn't work, and although they originally started up as a company that would work alongside the vendors, they are now selling out from under most of them, especially the interiors decorators! They are SO low they have actually tagged products inside some of the photos of interior designers and tabbed out similar products to stay the customer away from the Pro and to purchase through them directly!
Answer: Do yourself a huge favor and find it somewhere else. Houzz contracts with third party sellers and their freight companies, they're just a middle man. What a nightmare this has been.
