I had requested cancellation of my hotel reservation within an hour of booking. I was told that if hotel issues cancellation and refund then I will get the entire refund without any fees charged. Later they told me they were not able to reach hotel so that cancelled the reservation and issued me account credit and 60$ fees charged. Hotels usually cancels reservation and issues refund without any fees until 24hrs or check in and this scum hotwire company are saying no cancellation or refund policy. This will be my 1st and last booking via hotwire
We booked a hotel for 4 days, paid 500 dollars. Show up, they say we cancelled. Hotwire said they overbooked, but had already taken our money. Offered us a downgraded hotel then said we needed to pay almost 100 dollars for difference. After driving for 6 hours and being on the phone for almost a whole hour (ridiculous, first guy literally just transfered us to main menu to wait in que again after telling us he was getting someone more qualified to help), so we just took it. Never had a worse travelling experience.
I rented a car twice through them. When I got to the rental agency they told me HOTWIRE are only a referral company. They only locate rentals for what they charge you. I was out the money I paid them just so they can tell me where to go get a car. I could have done that by my self or through the actual rental agency. $#*!en crooks. They make it seem that what they charge you is all you will have to pay for the rental. LIARS!
I booked a reservation for $180 CAD/night or $140US/night. I booked in Canadian dollars ($180) and when I looked at my visa hotwire put it through in US funds so I was charged $310 per night instead of $180 (plus tax fees). I called and was given the trained response 'there is nothing we can do and we can't refund in a different currency'. I sent them screen capture from their web site showing the room in Canadian dollars at the $180/night rate and the US rate at $140/night and they would just dance around the issue using the same 3 or 4 responses. 'was there an issue with the web site during booking', did you set the currency to Canadian funds (yes)' and so on.
I booked a flight with Jet Blue to South America through Hotwire, the flight got 3 hours delay going to SA and Jet Blue didn't want to help me because I didn't purchase the tickets directly with them. They told me I have to call Hotwire to fix this. When I call Hotwire, they said they couldn't help me neither. They left me on the line for an hour. I missed my connection and lost 1 day. Terrible experience.
Rented a car through hotwire for $200, great right? Picked up the car to be told that company doesn't accept my insurance. Cost another $125, NO disclosure on hotwire, felt like a huge bait and switch! With the toll fees the car cost was almost $500 in total! Never again! Avoid NU rental in Miami too!
Terrible customer service. Refused to refund me my money on car rental. There Hotwire special states compact or larger. I found a larger vehicle for cheaper and they refused to honor there low price guarantee because it was an SUV. I would give less then a star if I could because I was on the phone for over an hour

My humble request to everyone to avoid this hotwire.com website, they are cheating with customers.
I'm writing of this to aware everyone. I was book 1 hotel via hotwire.com website, at the time of booking I chose different hotel with 3+ star rating, and I got confirmation in different hotel, and that was hotel below 2 star rating.
I called them immediately to fix this issue, they were denied and not resolve the problem. No cancelation, no refund.
Note: please take care everyone, while you booking any hotel, chose any other option or better to book via directly on hotel website.
Be aware that you will need to pay a security deposit of an undisclosed amount that is not provided in the confirmation email. Note as well that this amount will not be returned to you for up to 7 days.
If you are told how much that amount is or at least given an estimate that would not be an issue. Cloak and dagger.
Work out better communication or processes between the aggregation company and the supplier for the end user.
It's quite frustrating if you aren't expecting to pay the amount they request.
I went to make my booking and a message came up "good news ur rate has decreased". I was happy since it was gonna save me $60. Turns out it was not a decrease at all they were just charging me in USD when I wanted to pay in CAD. Since credit cards have a different exchange rates, I was actually charged more that what i would have been charged in CAD and more that was listed on the website. Not at all a decrease like was advertised. I am on the list to get a refund that will take 7-10 weeks. What a joke! Never use Hotwire!
I just spent 2 hours trying to talk to some one about a reservation that I booked and posted for. I kept getting passed off to different departments! I've booked several times with no problem. Evidently, it's a problem if you want to get some details! What a joke!
I purchased a plane ticket to travel to Las Vegas for New Years through Hotwire. I ended up getting covid the day of the trip and try to call and cancel for a later date. It took them 3 hours being on hold and going through numerous representatives that needs training. Finally they gave me a credit to use for future ticket for a year. Its been 4 months and I'm ready to redeem the ticket but Hotwire is telling me my ticket is suspended and they have to reach out to Delta airline to see why. I was on hold for 2 hours and the phone gets disconnected. Call back and starting all over again of what's going on, I'm put on hold for another 4 hours and is being transfer to delta. Delta rep comes on and say they can't do anything and I dont have any credit with them, only thru Hotwire. Now hotwire won't do anything even i have proof that hotwire sent confirmation saying I have a credit. They say I have to deal with Delta airline when I didn't purchase thru delta. I purchase thru hotwire. They have my money and is giving me the runaround. I just need to use my credit that I pay for. Its that simple.

The hotwire deal where they show you 3 hotels, and you book a room but you don't get to see which hotel you stay at of the 3, until you' have paid a non-refundable booking price, is basically a bait and switch. There are 2 decent hotels, sort of, and one BAD one. You will get the bad one, every time. Don't gamble on getting a good hotel room. Plus, they don't warn you about added fees. The small deposit turns out to be a 100 dollar deposit, at a hotel which I find out, is notorious for finding excuses to keep your deposit. "Pet Friendly" means an additional charge per night per pet, which will be an additional 120 dollar fee. This for a hotel room in a sketchy hotel, no pool, no amenities, nothing. I haven't even checked in, and I know this is gonna be a bad experience. They offered a "solution" when I expressed worries about this crack den of a hotel I ended up with. I can get a partial refund in the form of a credit to use with Hotwire, but... I won't be using hotwire again. Ever. So I"m stuck wiht a room I may not be able to stay in, because I won't be paying a deposit to stay in a place where the deposit for amenities I might use is ridiculous because there are No amenities to use. Oh and they call it a hotel, but it's a run-down motel, which from the reviews, doesn't match the pictures provided, and the non-smoking rooms are nicotine stained, with burn holes in the bedding, and you're lucky if yoru bedding isn't blood-stained or worse. I will share a review after I have seen the room and have dealt with the staff which according to reviews is rude on their best day. If it's the nightmare It's gearing up to be, I will be seeing what I can do about filing a fraud complaint. If it's a pleasant surprise, I'll share that as well. But, I doubt it will be the latter. Hotwire, if no one ever gets the good hotels you have in the three rooms you bait customers with, then that is fraud, and THAT, is illegal.
I had a problem with my reservation because the terms and conditions of hotwire were different than those of the hotel i reserved. Luckily, i found out before our arrival and contacted hotwire costumer service via chat. Gabriela was amazing and super helpful and got us a complete refund. Although I would never use the website again, I can assure the costumer service was amazing.
I understand policies with Hot Rates but they have not consideration for honest mistakes. Do not use this website. The rates will attract you but the customer service is the worst. I spoke with 4 reps to help me with a car rental booking I made at the wrong airport as I was new to the city but all they said was what the policy said. So book at your own risk.
If they had a zero for rating, this is what I would have given Hotwire for how they handled my issue. I asked for a car rental under $100 and they presented my option to purchase. On Feb 2,2021, I purchased a car rental from Hotwire online for $96.62. When I went to pick up the car, the merchant told me that I cannot take the car out of state. I had to go through so much trouble to rent another car that day to continue with my travel. When I called Hotwire, they said they have a policy and I should have read it, but the issue is that I was never given that policy before purchasing my car rental. If it was presented after the purchase, Hotwire is not a kind of a company to reimburse or give credit. I have disputed this transaction 4 times with my Mastercard and each time Hot Wire talked about their policy in place, but never admitted that it was not presented to me at the time of purchase. I will never buy any product from the Hotwire or Expedia that owns Hot Wire.

With them to travel to California Post Coronavirus Pandemic. I asked for my money and they would not give it back. Then, they gave me a "credit" that no one would help me redeem. As a result they ended canceling my car rental! I hope your mom uses your service! You are a pathetic company. Never using your services again.

If I could give a 0 rating I would. I'm very disappointed for the hotel I got. It is really frustrating you can't pick the hotel you want to stay until after you pay!. I stayed at the Ramada by Wyndham Boise Hotel. To start with my room smelled like chlorine. Like if I had a swimming pool in my room. When I got to my room, none of the lights worked and the TV didn't work. The only light that worked was in the bathroom. I called the front desk and they said they could send someone to my room in the morning after 11:00am. Ummmm guess what time my check out was? 11:00 am! Ahhh. And the bathroom tub had black stains on the corners. Mold maybe? And let's not talk about the sketchy/weird people in the parking lot.

Answer: No. I didn't see Richards Hotel on the list. Having said that I've never been to Richard's Hotel it could be great. They just don't show it as one of them. Be kind to yourself read the reviews and stay away
