DISGUSTING STAY

We have booked a room with hot wire in hotel La Quinta at Wichita Falls TX. The place is very DISGUSTING facility and after staying an hour and transferring from one department to another the last representative hangs up the phone. ITS VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Nightmare listing in Scranton

Booked an Econolodge in Scranton for an absurd $120 for one night. The hotel wreaked of smoke, there was ash on the floor, the sink had hair in it, the wallpaper was peeling off, and it was so filthy we couldn't stay the night. Everyone in my family has asthma, plus it was 3am and we're all young woman, so our priority was finding a safe place to stay for the night. We found another hotel and when I spoke to Hotwire, they refused to refund because I didn't let the hotel know (there was no one at front desk) and I didn't call Hotwire during my stay (as I was trying to find another place to stay in the middle of the night). Customers' health and safety is NOT a priority for them and their listings are misadvertised and frankly will put people in danger.

I travel every couple of months and use different website for my hotel reservations, car rentals and flights and by far hotwire.com is the very worst. Very unethical practices and very inaccurate billing and terrible customer service. They won't ever own up to their mistakes, they are cagey and they will never stop giving you the run around and wasting your time. DO NOT USE HOTWIRE! YOU WILL REGRET IT!

Hidden cost

This hotel charges a resort fee which you pay at the hotel directly. It isn't included in the hotwire total found out after booking more expensive that full price on others site lesson learned.

Surprised I would be charged $500 fee for canceling original flight when re-rebooking new flights they had lots of restrictions. New flight would cost me $2,800 when original flight was $1,800. Unable to use credit. If I re-booked on web site same flight would cost $1,800 looks like I lost $1,000 plus the $500. I will never use again. I will just go straight to the airlines web site.

5 July 2022: I have used Hotwire for some years and in the past couple of months they have just gotten horrible. Mid 2021 I bought tickets to fly overseas December 2021. Between June and Dec 2021 they changed and canceled my flights and stated that I was the one that changed the flights then they lied and said it was the airlines. I spent many hours on the phone going back and forth with these A-holes to resolve issues that they created. They will put you on hold on purposed to piss you off and act like they are doing something. Customer representatives from INDIA are the WORST! Customer service HORRENDOUS they F%^5s will put you on hold for for long periods of time, you will call to resolve a small issue and it will take over an hour talking to incompetent representative that can barely speak in English. Their refund policy should be illegal and reported to the government, we should be able to get our money back or apply the same funds to the reservations.

Today (5 July 22) they took my money just because I was changing my flight to fly two days earlier. Prior to getting assistance to complete the modifications, I was passed through SEVEN representatives who kept saying "I can't help, I will transfer you to another department"..."sorry the system is slow, another department will help you"... then I was placed on hold for an extend period of time. Basically they are not trained well and they are there to steal money from the consumers with their stupid policies.

Bottom Line: Stay away from Hotwire if you want a peace of mind, to keep your money, and not deal with incompetent idiots in a country they don't care about you.

Bad experience

I will never use this company again, the service was bad. I had an emergency and I was not able to change my flight. I purchased protection on my flight and it was no point in paying that extra fee. I will never use them again.

Does not work

I have literally tried to book through hotwire on my computer and through the app, tried 2 different email accounts and 2 different credit cards and everytime we got to check out, add all my information and when i click book it goes "here's your hotel... sorry error" no explanation of the error or anything. I don't understand! Waste of an hour do not try.

Useless

Booked with hotwire, econolodge harleeville, SC. The room was a disaster, cannabis stench in room curtains falling down, damp coming thru ceiling, toilet seat broken arrived approx 5pm left at 5.15pm and can only get a 1 night refund not the 2 which was originally booked, told because we stayed for 1 hour, I wouldn't spend more than 1 minute in that $#*! hole! No more hotwire or Expedia for me

Two rentals isdue

I was charged for 2 rentals on same day. Only authorized one. I mentioned system glitch. Something thwt happens all the time but all guy could tell me was about there refund policy. He wouldnt even look any further into issue

Bait and switch

We thought we were getting a brand name hotel for a good price. Then it gave us another hotel. No refund. We paid $83.00 more than the listed rate, for a run down motel with peeling wallpaper, sinks without stoppers, broken dresser, patched ceiling in bathroom, no soap for shower etc. First class rip off. Will never use Hotwire again! Lesson learned!

After booking with hot wire my flight was canceled but their site showed that my flight was ontime. With no other flights available I was reboooked for a different day. I called customer support and they just transfered me until eventually hanging up on me. Their text feature does not work either. I tried to change my hotel and car rental directly but could not because it was made through hotwire. Customer support is the worst. I would suggest never using this service and make your reservations directly through the airline, hotel and car rental.

Absolutely horrible, my car rental resulted in a total, epic, failure.

When I arrived at alamo rental, they immediately said, we have no cars, haven't had cars for hours, I don't know why they have you a reservation.

Now I'm stranded, at the airport, with no car.

I called Alamo, they were closed, unless it was a roadside emergency.

I called hotwire customer support, I was told ' well you can cancel the reservation.

Of course, now as to what is considered normal, I'm challengesd by some one who understands English, but doesn't necessarily comprehend English, or have a non telemarketing English speaking manner, frustrateds me further, and tries to help, and books me a hot rate reservation, warns me I might get Alamo, and of course I did, so another 30 minutes wasted, bad reservation to start with, frustrating customer service, to end up with nothing and being stranded at the air port, with nothing.

Absolutely terrible experience and service and I'm still stranded at the air port, and the other car agencies are slammed and don't have standard SUVs, at this time, which I needed to transport other people and items.

Just Book Yourself

My nerves are shot from trying to get refunds for hotels that turned out to be in dangerous areas! It doesn't help that the company has to keep its places secret! I just wanted to book a place down at the beach for five nights, but even the places that had placed hotels in Surfside Beach or Murrells Inlet, SC always landed me in Myrtle Beach. The thing is I don't want to get killed or wind up staying at a. First time I tried using this, I wound up wasting $650 on a room of a dump. I tried to get a refund, but they only gave back $580 in CREDIT.

I might as well have set the wad on fire. I'm not doing business with these people again.

Take my advice: if you want to find a place to stay, do the job yourself.

I used to book with hotwire all the time, this is the second time I've been burned. They gave me a listings of what my hotel might be, Omni, InterContinental, etc... I got a Double Tree. For 132.00. Looking on their website, I could have gotten it for 116.00. Where's the deal, Hotwire? I'm done w/ your service, you've burned me for the last time. Jerks.

Should Have Just Paid Full Price

Honestly I've tried Hotwire twice in the past and it was fine, however when you need to get customer service involved it's game over. My friend booked us reservations in Vegas at the Tropicana, her flight was arriving 4 hours prior to mine. She tried messaging them for 3 DAYS in a row to try allow me to check in to the reservation to only receive delayed responses and fake promises that support "emailed" Tropicana. Clearly nothing happened because I had to sit in the hotel lobby for hours since they never added me to the reservation. Very lazy support team, I would have easily bought full price for the hotel if I knew it would be this much of a headache. Peace of mind has a price too!

My mom was rushed to the emergency and I cannot make my trip
Even after purchasing their cancellation insurance., I cannot get a refund ($500)
Unless I provide a Dr note and a copy of my mothers covid test.
Really?!
Does any emergency room Dr have the time to write a letter to Hotwire?
Also- what does a covid test have to do with anything?
Also- we cannot even go to the holspital due to covid restrictions.
NEVER EVER use Hotwire- but if you do- do not fall for thier scam of the cancellation insurance company ALLIANZ GLOBAL ASSISTANCE

Hi
I rented a car but i picked wrong airport and i canceled the reservation in 10 minutes. I tried to contact them but they didn't answer. I canceled the reservation on hertz app and insurance company but still didn't get my money back. I called customer service and one person told me to bring the proof i canceled the reservation and they are going to refund me. I sent all the proof and still didn't get my money. I called again after 3 weeks and they told me i'm not qualified for refund.
Never happened to me, only with hotwire can.
Not sure if the people there are working at the call center they know what to do or just prefer to get some money from people with no service.
