HOTWIRE is committing FRAUD AND FALSE ADVERTISEMENT by selling extra car insurance as a bundle add on upon checkout. The insurance is not accepted by the rental car agencies they partner with. It is a useless policy that is being sold.

It will say that you are guaranteed one of the four hotel chains when you are booking on the website. But they must have changed it because I just booked and they gave me a hotel that was not one of the GUARANTEED chains and refused to refund when I pointed this out. A day before arrival at hotel. They sent email. Hotel overbooked. They could 1)rebook to another hotel and pay the difference or 2) refund, I needed an hotel. Email said customer service by text only. Service was horribly slow, took 1.5 hours. They claimed there were no hotel availability in the area and could offer me room in another state, other state? Excuse me but I see plenty of available rooms. Well sir, these are not available in our system, in another words, unless we can find something else to make money off of you, we will not honor our commitment to find you an accommodation and pay the difference as stated. Your are left on your own, they just reimburse and now you need to find something else at last minute cost! Trash service

My hotel got canceled at the middle of the night and got wire could not do anything. No refund yet. For the car cancellation they said call directly

Do not trust this site. I booked a car but I cannot cancel or refund. Price is no bad but all you purchasing no refund. If you like to cancel think you loose money

I was told that when making changes to a group trip after someone didn't pay their part that I could cancel and get the flight credit to myself since I paid. This lead me to pay more money to change my flights because I felt I would get my money back as an ecredit. All lies I did what was told of me and ended up losing my hard earned money. I just wanted to go on a trip no issues and trusted Hotwire to do as they said. Once I was led wrong I was all on my own and out of money. I would not recommend this 3rd party. Just book directly with the Hotel or airlines you desire. Hotwire is not trustworthy.

I booked reservations of hotel in montreal i paid them $860 and my flight canceled i went second they told me hot wire canceled ur reservations And i had to call first day they put my in hold i called after and they said thet system down three days they telling me that at sixth day i called to ask them to refund my money and they told me no refund ur money is gone they stole my money no one book through them pleaSe people they are bunch of thieves they $#*!ed me up

Booked hotel ( knowing the hotel) a few weeks ago Booked on Hotwire.ca and was careful to indicate cdn funds as I know many people who have been scammed by Hotwire and charged in US dollars, still charged US dollars. Called hotel to ask question about facilities no reservation for me even though I had a confirmation number and credit card charged. Called hotwire on hold forever they admitted they had made a mistake. No apology no call back from
Mgr as promised. Took a few days for credit to go thru and I ended up out of pocket 20.00 due to change in cdn/us exchange rate. Hotwire refused to reimburse my out of pocket telling me I was lucky they didn't charge me a penalty, for them fraudently charging my credit card. If I hadn't called to check at hotel I would have driven 7 hrs and arrived late with a baby and toddler and nowhere to stay. A reputable company at the least would have ensured I wasn't out of pocket due to their gross negligence

Beware of Hotwire

I used thr service to a particular car and at SLC airport, it was not available, I have to upgrade a Hertz charg me the regular day price then I told them that in that case I will now go with 2 days and paid to Hertz about $250 instead of a week that I mentionned to hotwire initially and they hold almost $700 from my account. Hotwire just doeasn't want to refund me what ever what saying it was all final sales. Where is my fault if the car wasn't available.

Full of manipulations and lies. You can get better deal by going to the establishment sites directly.

In the last two days I have been to the airport with no actual flight scheduled despite the itenerary sent to me by Hotwire. Also spend 4+ hours in the phone with customer support who barely speak English. They basically sent me an itenerary for the wrong day then tried to blame the airline for changing the flight even though the airline changed nothing they just messed it up in hotwires system. I have always booked through Hotwire just because it easier to do the hotel, car, and flight all together. I will never make this mistake again, if you want to save yourself a coma inducing headache do not use this company it's blantenly obvious they don't care about their customers and are just here to squeeze the last few dollars out of unsuspecting victims until they go out of business.

Rented an "execute suv", assigned me National rental, when saw it was compact car, so i declined and ask to replace it with standard suv, but they wouldnt do it, wasted 2 hours with hotwire support on sms text as they dont have call support, they did declined to refund me for a car i did not wanted and not picked up!

I prepaid a "no cancellations" three night stay (2 rooms) for a mini vacation for myself and my son. I received a confirmation number from hotwire that my chosen hotel, The Tudor Arms - 4 star hotel, was booked and confirmed. When I arrived the hotel had no record of my reservation. I called Hotwire and the assured me they would clear up the confusion. Instead they came back on the line and said the hotel was unavailable ( the hotel said they had rooms available) and the instead put me up in a 3 star hotel that was hospital adjacent that catered to patients who had come in for medical treatment. While that hotel provides a wonderful service for guests who are struggling with often catastrophic medical crisis it is not where you would go to have a fun and carefree vacation. They downgraded me from an elegant historic 4 star hotel to a somber hospital atmosphere 3 star hotel. ABSOLUTELY DISHONEST BAIT AND SWITCH!

Stay away from this website. It is like a lottery, they show you potential hotels you can stay at a cheaper rate than you typically find in other online travel websites. You are supposed to get one in the list but we got a horrible hotel not listed in the options, one star below and with 2.3 star reviews. A second time, they advertise a bed setting that was not offered by the hotel. The hotel did not want to give us the bedroom we paid for on the Hotwire page. Neither the hotel nor Hotwire returned the money, because Hotwire sale is final, non-refundable. This is too much risk for $10 less than regular more reliable online travel websites, just stay away.

Reserved a hotel through hotwire. Went to the hotel and no available rooms. Hotwire says sorry no refunds. This is a fraudulent company. Customer service can barely speak English. It's one of those scam companies located in India. They stole my money. Stay away!

I have 8 proves, How i was scammed with "HOTWIRE" hotel and Car rental booking. 2 time. First time when i booked the side saying millage policy variable by car rental company policy. They don't mentioned " How many Millage. Once you booked. They give you 400 -800 mileage then $. 24 per Km. They don't mentioned " How many mileage until not booked. Second time, HOTWIRE reservation is garbage or useless for car company. I booked i went to pick car. Car company say. They booked too cheap. We can not give you car on that price. They cancel right away. My trip was planned so there was no choice. I had to give more price to direct car rental company. Please do not trust on "HOTWIRE" booking No hotel or Car rental respect this kind of scam base, so called "Booking Platform". Thanks
