I needed a room with double beds since I was traveling with a friend. I tried booking a room with Hotel Tonight, and it went straight to payment. I thought maybe I could choose the bed/room setup after, but nope! They said the hotel would decide for me, and they didn't have any double beds. I called immediately to request a hotel change or refund, but they didn't care. There goes $350 down the drain! Yay! Customer service is atrocious. Surprised they even have one if they don't bother listening to their customers...
Hotel Tonight has an incredibly poor search engine, unless it is designed that way intentionally in order to ripoff users. I searched for a hotel in Estes Park, CO, and a property called The Gateway Inn in Grand Lake, CO, showed up. It looked like a nice property at a decent rate, so I booked it.
When I entered it into my Waze GPS app, I found out that it was located TWO HOURS AWAY from Estes Park. Not wanting to drive FOUR HOURS round trip out of my way, I called Hotel Tonight to cancel, due to the mistake in THEIR search engine. To include properties TWO HOURS AWAY in a local search is absolutely ABSURD.
Hotel Tonight was absolutely no help at all-they couldn't care less that I was stuck-so I drove to the hotel, only to find that the WALK IN rate was $43 LESS than what I was being charged by Hotel Tonight. When I called Hotel Tonight to get their low price guarantee, I was told that on same day bookings, there is a two hour window in which to exercise the guarantee and that window had closed. When I explained that it had closed because they routed me two hours through a mountainous national park (Rocky Mountain NP), and had no cell service with which to call them, once again Hotel Tonight couldn't care less. Tough luck, you're stuck.
NEVER AGAIN, HOTEL TONIGHT. You are a ripoff company with the worst customer service I've ever seen. From now on it's Hotel NOT Tonight.
A simple mistake can cost with hotel tonight. First of all the lady Amy Bohutinsky must of had a bad day and took her emotions out on the customers. I was told to book another night at a higher rate and than they maybe give a credit. At which I would be out of pocket over double the price instead of switching the dates. The hotel already said they wouldnt charge Hotel Tonight any fees for switching but hotel tonight wanted to be greedy and charge me twice.
The website told us either you go and sink or we keep the money. Honeymoon
We booked 3 nights through this website thinking that it was a good deal but these people turned to be the worst I have ever seen in my life. Myrtle beach had a flash flood warning and really bad and dangerous conditions and we HAD to cancel our trip for our honeymoon. Called the hotel and they agreed to cancel without any fees and they asked me to call hotel tonight and cancel.
Did call. They agree to cancel but they wont give us the money back. They say its a credit and we either go and stay the night in a dangerous situation and risk our life or we can keep the money with them and they wont refun it.
I asked to talk to a supervisor. He did not apologize for the hell that they put me and my wife through... called me with my first name like he knows me. Pronounced my name wrong even after I correct him. The guy sound like hes from India or Asia, he kept repeating that they did me a favor and canceled my reservation and if I want I can just go to the hotel and get done with it. Wont show any sympathy, wont even say sorry and then I told him this is the US of America and you cant just take my money for something that you didnt do or a service that you didnt provide he said well this is not America. I tried and tried and tried to explain that I wanted to use the money somewhere else since we lost our chance to go to the beach and that we needed our money back and he literally said you either go or you can use the money only with us.
Will never ever book with this website again. Will for sure file an official complaint.
I booked a room in Lake Placid, NY through Hotel Tonight on Tuesday, July 3,2018 for that same evening. Hours later, an unexpected and significant thunderstorm prohibited our small plane from taking off. I contacted Hotel Tonight regarding a refund, however, they could not issue same per their policy.
I agreed to the non-cancellation policy at the time of booking. I did not, however, waive any and all potential consumer rights as a result of extreme weather. I even rebooked a room in the same hotel on the following Saturday. I reached out to Hotel Tonight to see if some or all of my prior payment could be applied to my later, but otherwise identical booking, however, they have yet to respond to me.
You are better off booking with a hotel directly. Although your initial rate may be higher (the company insists it can only secure rates through its rigid cancellation policy- one which does not account for extreme circumstances), most hotels will work with customers to determine a reasonable resolution should unforeseen circumstances arise.
Very disappointing.
I booked a two night stay through the Hotel Tonight App. I get to the hotel. The Booking ID was not valid. They never reserved the hotel. I get on customer service chat. They tell me they are issuing a hotel tonight credit to my account which I didn't want, I just wanted a refund.
No credit appeared. I click support and I get locked out from the. App.
I finally get someone on the phone. Lady barely speaks English, can't help me and tells me to send an email.
They charged my card never booked the hotel and blocked my account access. Unbelievable Terrible fraudulent site. DO NOT USE
A very shady website. Dont use it! They have higher rates an all their bookings are non refundable for a reason! And extra taxes are listed on the profile page of the hotel not in the final booking page.
This app is a complete ripoff! Do not use it or even think about making a reservation! The customer service is a comple waste of time!
While booking a hotel room, their website crashed and url reloaded several times. By the time my room was confirmed, the rate had increased. I immediately called HotelTonight to make the correction, and they refused! Even while on the phone with them, their url/phone service crashed and I had to call them back three times. Even the supervisors were unprofessional. I informed them that I would not accept the higher rate and cancelled the booking. They have notified my credit card company that the booking was not refundable and refuse to issue a credit. I highly recommend that you DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
I used their app to book a room. When checking in to the hotel, the clerk didn't recognize that I'd used their booking service. When my reservation was located, hoteltonight's rate was higher than what the hotel would have charged with taxes and fees that were significantly higher than what the hotels'. I would have been better off booking directly than using the ht app. Lesson learned.
False advertising of available rooms. Website wouldnt allow me to choose double beds. It stated selected by hotel. I called hotel and was told the vendor HotelTonight booked 2 rooms on two different nights of queen beds only. I call HotelTonight and spoke to 3 people (Leo, Victor *******, Alberto) that were very rude, sarcastic, and unprofessional. They told me I would have to recreate the booking to show proof I wasnt able to select double beds, that people just wanted double beds to allow extra people in the room without paying, and that if I cancel reservation they would charge me a penalty fee because they only have to advertise that room can accommodate two people. Their sites states credit if you find a hotel that meets your accommodations however that is false too.
I do not consider anything a real business that has zero customer service. While the app does warn you about booking, the truth is, any real business would let you reverse something (even if their TOS says you can't) if you contact them within 5 minutes of booking. But while I was not able to move my reservation and basically lost 180$, i was able to find out that their bookings show up as Expedia so really they are just a different reseller and with their fees etc. you are better off just going to Expedia. So I've now deleted the app and will tell anyone who will listen NEVER to use them.
It's been a couple times I get charged twice (once from them, once from the hotel) and I have to work all the way out to my credit card customer care to have their transaction disputed. And their Customer Care is a mess.
Buyer beware! I should have done my research before booking! If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
I booked a room for a work meeting and the person we were meeting about resigned! So, meeting cancelled. The next morning after booking, I unsuccessfully went online to cancel and ended up calling customer service - very unhelpful. Basically I was told that when I booked a room, it was non refundable. The app does not say it's non refundable until you are finalizing the booking and it is not noticeable. I call 3 or 4 days before I needed to be there, which is ample time to cancel a reservation -- I was told, no refund. SO I paid for a room that was not used and Hotels tonight made a huge commission!
DO NOT USE this app...

On 24 march, I booked through HT app a Hampton Inn. When we arrived, i was told it was a smoking room. I asked the clerk how bad it smelled, and she said "really bad." I knew that would kill my husband, but the hotel was sold out and nothing else was available. We found another room - on our own - and upon checking into it, I called HT to advise that, in my opinion, certain things were NOT deal breakers - i. E., double vs. king beds; pool, etc., but that a smoking room needed to be clearly divulged on its site. The HT rep was helpful and said someone would get back. To shorten a long story, ultimately I heard back from HT - almost 2 weeks later - that they would not credit the room stay. Lesson learned -- never, EVER book through a third-party.
I do not suggest using HotelTonight! The hotel we used through them was a complete $#*! hole! I emailed them asking for a refund because after paying over $100 for a couple hours of sleep I could not bring myself to stay there. Left and drove the 4 hours home. Emailed them asking to please take into consideration the place was a $#*! hole although they stat that "they do a ton of work behind the scenes to vet their hotels" is complete bull$#*! and they would not refund me. So they do not care about the purchaser. I Highly recommend to NOT use this app!
They are a disaster, and have terrible customer service. Besides the hidden fees, they do not vouch for their customer after a bad experience. Instead they say it's not their fault, and avoid calling us back. They are argumentative, and do not care one but about their customers experience. Avoid at all costs
You would think that if a company posted/maintained a prominently displayed promotional code their website that it would be honored and adequately outlined. However, in the fine print the company sets a dollar threshold that I just missed on my reservation. This was unapparent from the aforementioned page and of course all sales are final. To make matters worse customer service was not of any assistance. Why would I continue using this platform?
After booking through HotelTonight, was double billed on my credit card. One rate was lower than the other. The lower rate was through the hotel directly. HotelTonight ended up taking the lower rate off my bill, but charged me the higher rate. They did not honor their 'low price guarantee' and made up some excuse about how they can't compete with the hotel directly. Isn't that the premise of the HotelTonight app? Available leftover rooms at a deep discount?
Use the app to FIND the hotel. Then CALL THE HOTEL DIRECTLY. Save yourself some real money.
I am supposedly a Level 11 Concierge customer. But Hoteltonight cares little about clients, almost always is less than forthcoming, and almost never is helpful with the problems they create. I will not use them again. The prices seem great till the last screen hits with a bunch of hidden not-included costs. The booking says two beds but the fineprint says you are not guaranteed it. So we prepaid 3 nights at #DoubletreeHilton on 40th Street in NY because it had 2 beds. When we arrived we were told that was not a guarantee and we had 1 bed. I had the choice of paying for a second room or forfeiting $700. I wasted an hour on the phone with HotelTonight who did nothing. Book your rooms directly with no hidden costs, prepayment and fine print and avoid HotelTonight
Answer: Hotel Tonight will find a way to rip you off, you can count on that.
Answer: Total scam. False advertising. Room and hotel nothing as it was posted.
