Stay away

Had an issue with the hotel. HT kept playing hot potatoe with the hotel. Incredible wait times. Bull$#*! answers. Stick with other agencies.

Tried to book a hotel - the hotel turned out to not be open when I needed to check in - hotel tonight was rude on the phone didn't answer my e-mails. So I disputed - they told my bank it was valid. I called the hotel and the manager there investigated - turns out they refunded the money to hotel tonight but hotel tonight kept it all for themselves. They still won't give me my money back - because it's in dispute (they said if I'd just waited they would have refunded me - when exactly was that going to happen?). Liars and thieves. Stay away

9. % of my nearly 30 hotels have been perfect. The ONE awful hotel HT fixed immediately. Hotel wouldnt refund, even 'tho I had to leave in the middle of the night. HT was great.

I used HotelTonight to book a room in the Detroit area when the airport shutdown due to ice storm. I managed to get into a room, but HotelTonight booked me for the following night (I got the last room), and then 2 weeks later someone used my "membership" AND MY CREDIT CARD for 2 nights at a very expensive hotel somewhere else. I didn't find out until my credit card bill came. I called HotelTonight customer service and was shortly talking with a nice customer service agent, who took my info and said she would have to pass my complaint on to others. They got back within an hour, rejecting my claim, so as far as they are concerned, I'm out well over $500 for a 2 night stay at a nice hotel in some unknown (to me) location that they wouldn't share with me. The only people who could possibly have my membership/account number and my credit card number are people who work for HotelTonight. Do not use this scam! The sound oh, so nice, but they will use your identification and credit card and not take responsibility for it. I've never had an issue with any other hotel or agency, and I have traveled extensively across 2 continents for work for decades.

I tried HotelTonight for the first time. HotelTonight showed a room rate that was over $625/night (I cannot remember the exact amount, but I think it was about $687/night with a line through that amount, and underneath, a reduced rate of around $330/night). Had I taken the time to check the reviews of this particular hotel before booking it through HotelTonight, I would have seen that by far, most reviews of the hotel were 1-2 stars with mostly complaints and negative comments. As soon as I booked the room through HotelTonight, it occurred to me to call the hotel directly and asked about the room rate for that evening. I was quoted around $262. Based on the price listed and the information provided about the hotel, I will not trust HotelTonight again. The hotel was obviously struggling. It had few patrons, the room was modest and the exercise room was filthy, yet the pictures and other information provided by HotelTonight made this hotel appear much nicer than it was. Via email, the hotel asked for a review, so I provided a fair review, noting that the front desk staff was pleasant; that the views were wonderful, but that the room was modest and the exercise room was dirty. Today, I realized that the hotel and HotelTonight both charged me for the room--total amount charged for one room for one night was over $500. The hotel agreed to refund the price of the room ($254.82).

I was not allowed to check in at the hotel and the hotel manager asked me to contact HT and the hotel does not mind to refund at all, but the issue is that Hotel Tonight was not willing to contact the hotel what so ever, i called many times, I reached to whom he claims to be the manager (Mr. Daniel), he was replying like a robot, repeating the same sentence over and over again, finally i contacted the hotel my self and they easily compensated me. Waaaaay below the standards of Dubai agencies.

Very poor customer service and they took my money! My stepdaughter passed away and I was traveling to Florida. I spoke to a gentleman a few days prior and was advised that I must upgrade. I called after to speaking to a representative and I requested a supervisor. A woman was the ONLY supervisor, Megan who refused to refund $600. I asked for another supervisor and was told that she is the only one to talk to. I was given an email for upper management, but reported that they will not talk to anyone. I want my money returned. I am reporting this company and even attempted to post this on Amazon, who promotes this company. It has been a year and I am reminded once again this time of year of the scam they continue to do to people.

They steal money!

Their website freezes after you put your credit card information. Then they take your money even though you don't get a booking! They stole $175 from us and I've tried EVERYTHING to get money back, no luck. They don't care about people! Scammers!

I've been using Hotel Tonight as a booking site for a couple of years. This last trip was a disaster. We paid nearly 15% (14.93 % to be exact) VER the hotel's rate rack rate for one night. In addition, the hotel was truly sub-par (ad I'm being extremely generous here).
So, if you want to grossly overpay to stay in a mediocre property this is the site for you.

Bait & Switch

Bait and switch. Charged my card, then cancelled my reservation and wouldn't honor the original price. The new reservation would've been $500 more than I originally paid and was charged. They offered me $15 credit for my troubles, ha!

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. I booked a room through them. When I showed up to the hotel it was nothing that was represented in the photos. Dirty, filth, paint chips everywhere, rust, etc. I was paying $140 for the room so unacceptable & not as represented. I left immediately & stayed at another hotel. I called hotel tonight letting them know my experience & they refused a refund saying I booked a non refundable room. They lied numerous times saying they spoke with the hotel, etc when the hotel says they never heard from them. I've used hotel tonight many times & this is how they treat their guests. Go through another company that will make it right!

Stay Away!

I have booked through many websites who let you cancel your reservation. Not only does Hotel Tonight not let you cancel but I called within 5 minutes when I realized I made a mistake and they would not budge. I was on hold for greater than 30 minutes only to be told that is their policy and nothing can be done. The worst is that they don't even offer the best prices. I checked other websites and not only are they cheaper but they let you cancel within the 48 hour window of your reservation date. Deleting this app! Would give negative star if I could...

Awful experience!

With my first (and only) booking with HotelTonight, hotel had no record of my reservation. The front desk supervisor and I were given multiple numbers to call to get help. We had to call Expedia and their Affiliated Network numbers. After forty minutes, and repeated disconnections, we gave up. I booked at a higher rate with the hotel directly. I called Hoteltonight the next day for a refund, and I was told to call Expedia. After a couple of weeks, I got my refund. It was an awful experience!

I accidentally booked the wrong hotel (happy) fingers. David was great with helping me change the arrival date even though I couldn't cancel. Regift I guess

You think being a customer is bad try being an employee so much worse. This used to be a good company to work for then things changed drastically and dramatically. Many of us had to go out of work on stress and anxiety leave due to work conditions.

Instead of using US employees they are outsourcing jobs to Mexico we all know how well outsourcing doesn't work for the customer. Well it is worse for the US employee since when the outsourced worker lacks the skill to do their job they transferred the call to US workers, so now we have to handle the calls coming into us and the added calls from the outsourced workers. They can pay cheap wages to those in Mexico that is well below a living wage in US or even in Mexico for that matter. Not to mention that in my opinion this is so unAmerican for a company that makes the bulk of their millions from US customers. US customers using USD deserve service from American workers. Be nice to your American customer service person it's not their fault and your yelling at us just adds to the stress and anxiety that HotelTonight already piles on us. Not to mention that even though employees quit in large numbers they hadn't rehired additional US workers in over a year at the time I finally left the company to salvage my sanity and my health.

We are supposed to make the customers LIKE the fact that hoteltonight no longer refunds the guest for any reservation no matter what the reason. We are supposed to make the customer LIKE the fact that almost all reservations are non-cancelable now. If we can't make you like these things and you give us a bad review based on the fact that we can't provide you the customer service you deserve and that we would like to give you, we are chastised for it in performance reviews. Yes they treat the employee so much worse than they even treat the customers.

HotelTonight was also able to make Glassdoor remove valid, legitimate negative employee reviews of the company. To any HotelTonight employees if you are having panic attacks on the job it is not you - it is definitely the job. Many of us thought it was just us and then we found out after talking to each other - it was the job doing it to us. Take care of yourself because HT doesn't care!

I was scammed

I searched for a hotel in Helsinki in which to stay for a 16 hour layover on my way to Hong Kong. When I booked "Helsinki, Finland Holiday Inn Tampere Central Station" they sent me a confirmation with the address. When I put the address in Google maps it was over 105 miles or about a 6 hour (one way) train ride away from the airport. I contacted support immediately (within 5 minutes of receiving the address or 10 minutes of booking) and they absolutely refused to cancel the reservation despite the fact that it was obviously ridiculous to spend 12 hours traveling for 2 hours of sleep. If it wasn't a scam and if they cared about their customers, at very least they would not allow hotels in other cities to advertise under airport cities.

One word: SCAM

You will need a lawyer to read the fine print because their goal is to scam you. Hotel added a whopping $50 per night as a facility fee. What is a facility fee? What did I book? BTW the $50 was automatically charged. So, they misrepresented the price - hope the FTC looks at their business practices. Royalton Hotel NYC - add 50 per day plus tax to the price.
