Apology

I must apologise for my poor post on hoteling as I was just a bit concerned about not having a room booked
Once I found the right email I was contacted in 10 minutes and issue was resolved within two hours
I couldn't get the room I booked but have been reassured of a full refund and now at least I can rebook directly through the hotel and not worry about having two rooms booked

Headache
January 5, 2016

I booked two nights in ixtapa 01/04/16-01/06/16 and when I got to the hotel they did not receive anything from hoteling. So I had to book another hotel right away just because I didn't want to sleep on the street. Now I'm demanding a full refund of my money but hoteling has not reply after two emails I sent.

I'm truly sorry for this situation. Please be assured that this is not our standard practise and we reply to all emails as quick as possible. Currently we experiencing high volume of them, sadly that's why it takes longer to receive response.

I booked a hotel at hoteling.com last month. I should check the review before make a reservation...

My plan has been changed. So I send them an e-mail to make a cancellation and about fees. And they replied me shortly that ----------

Thank you for contacting hoteling.com customer services.

Our cancellation fees are as below;

7 days or more prior to your check-in – 20% of your booking value, plus any applicable supplier charges

6 days or less prior to your check-in – 100% of your booking value

Your booking can be cancelled via the Manage My Booking section of our website, and any refunds or charges due will be displayed during the process.

Any refunds that may be due will normally appear on your chosen payment method within the following 7 days, depending on your bank's processing times.

If you require any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us on *******@hoteling.com. ----------

So I cancelled a booking on thier website 10 days before check-in date.

But there's no refund on my bank details after 7 days so I send them an e-mail again but I got a reply that they don't refund. WTF?

So I send them an e-mail again but they're still ignoring...

Also I made an option - Australia in the bottom of the website and booked. But when I checked my bank account it was few hundred dollars different... They showed me USD Dollars? It seems they're USA website. OmG... Much higher than I saw the price!

Are they a genuine website?

No invoice

I was lucky that i found my room in budapest and - so far- it has been charged the right amount on my credit card.
However i need invoice for my staying and they said they are only "intermediary" so I asked the hotel and they said they did not get money so they cant issue invoice. Again back to hoteling they said we are intermediary, so i asked for whom, they said "we dont know"... at the end i dont have so far my invoice and cant put on company costs the room. Will not use it ANYMORE

Avoid at at all cost. Booked a nice room in Bangkok from 31.12. For 3 nights, BKK being very full these days. Got a confirmation after booking on the 25.12, paid and when I landed in BKK on the evening of 31. I found a message that the hotel was full and they had rebooked me into a crappy, smelly Holiday Inn. I protested, no answer. Went to the confirmed hotel, they showed me the Email they had sent to Hoteling on the 25th that there was no room available. So they did confirm the booking when the hotel had rejected it, sat on that info for 6 days withou bothering to notify me and half an hour before checkin they send a message and kick me into a shabby chain hotel, of course keeping the money and not reacting to my mails. Never experienced anything like that.

Update: after one week and daily reminders still no reaction from their "customer service". Reaction on my Review here was completely useless, I assume they use an electronic text generator with the standard "sincere apologies" bull$#*!. Conclusion: incompetent does not describe it accurately...

Worst experience ever
December 31, 2015

Absolute trash, worst experience booking a hotel ever. Place never even got the booking, tried to get a refund but they scammed some "cancellation fee" off the top of the booking before refunding several WEEKS later. Avoid at all costs to save heartache.

Deceptive crooks
December 30, 2015

Long story short... these guys are very deceptive in their practices especially where clear and upfront information is needed regarding fees and their policies. I have used many sites like hotels.com, Travelocity, expedia, etc. Hoteling.com positions themselves as being a mainstream travel services company, but has hidden policies, not to mention backroom third pary providers, that will hit your wallet. They ARE NOT like the big mainstream companies that operate within familiar travel guidelines that every traveler knows so be very careful if you use them... in fact I would advise that you not use that at any cost. They are unscrupulous bottom feeders. Thank you and good luck.

Follow up on hoteling
December 30, 2015

A representative from hoteling contacted me on the changed hotel reservation on my original request that was subsequently changed when I was transferred to the hoteling web site. I tried to replicate the miss matched hotel and again I was transfer to a different hotel that you could see an address And realize the hotel was changed. Not only did the rep not check this I was told the hotel change was still in the LA area. Seriously! Be aware of web sites that do not offer no charge to cancelling a reservation mine was over 2 months out and they charged me for a 5 minute reservation which I promptly cancelled after I was given the address. Which of course was different from my original selection. S.

Due to your issue with the reservation I have checked it with our supplier and your reservation is fully confirmed with the hotel. However it's a standard procedure for our suppliers to send the reservation list first and provide the customers details later on that's why the property haven't your name yet. I just booked a reservation for an all inclusive hotel in Mexico and it wasnt until after the confirmation came through that it was printed out that the reservations was "room only" which is a total scam to not show that upfront to the consumer when booking. I called the customer service number within 20 minutes of booking to cancel for full refund but was told there was nothing they can do but give me 80% refund, even upon immediate reaction to cancel the reservation. To lose $300 immediately when the terms of the reservation were not completely stated upon booking process seems completely unethical. I still have not been able to get a full refund, so sadly will need to take this up with my bank and dispute this charge through VISA.

I'm very sorry to hear that you feel this way, however in this case we can only follow our policy, which is if you want to cancel you will be charged a cancellation fee 20% of the full value of the booking, as the mistake wasn't on our end.
During the booking process, on the 3rd page ( first one you choose the destination, dates and number of people, second one hotel) you have the hotel breakdown where you can see the room type, meal basis ( so if it's Room Only, Self Catering, Half Board, All Inclusive etc.) and the price per night. Also on the last, payment page this information is visible. It clearly states during the booking process what exactly room are you booking, so unfortunately we are unable to provide you with the full refund.
I apologise for your disappointment.

SCAM!

I search through trivago and got directed to hoteling.com for room reservation. I tried twice and error message prompted '3rd party failure' and no further confirmation was receive nor the room was booked. However when i received my credit card statement, i was charged twice! Called to the hotel directly and the reservation team could not locate any booking. Email to hoteling.com but no reply at all! Please be attentive and refund the payment!

I just booked a hotel in China - the wrong dates came through on the booking sheet. I phoned and tried to change dates to those that I wanted. They took so long on phone and then asked for my credit card details over the phone (I would never provide these). I asked person on phone to just cancel the change he was doing as it was taking to long and said that I would go on website and just cancel the whole thing. I've now been charged $90 (about the same as one nights accom) for changing the dates and then cancelling. The fact is I said not to change the dates and didn't authorize him to do this.
At this stage i'm waiting for a refund of $165.26 having paid 90.71 for the privilege. This is not on and I will be making sure others know that this company is very untrustworthy

Not Again!

So I booked last night, did not receive a confirmation email. Called the hotel directly and the don't seem to have a reservation under my name. Hmmm, I've been on the phone with this company, hoteling.com, for over 15 minutes when they clearly said my waiting time was "less than minute." Oh, but they already took the payment out of my account. I am very disappointed. Makes me not want to ever book with them, not that I intentionally did, but still. Booked through Trivago, I thought I was literally booking through Trivago. & of course, they don't have a number to call. Have I been ripped off?! Now, let me continue waiting…. Hope I can speak to an representative after such a long way (now running on over 45 minutes, what happened to the 1 minute hold?).

Book a 3 night stay at bangkok. Credit card been charged but no booking reference number is send to me. Email hoteling customerservices more than 5 times, but to no reply. No booking reference number, no COMFIRMATION email. If the company can't be bother to even reply email, what's the point of asking customer to email them. Totally disappointed in them. We booked a vacation for December and saved a ton with this website! I read reviews before booking and was skeptical, but all was good! After hitting pay we did get an error bc our cars put it on hold, but once we accepted it went through. We waited a day then called the resort direct, they had our reservations and all was good! Will definitely use the site again
