Good & bad experiences but the bad has really p***ed me off!
The good - a relatively cheap hotel near the Sydney Australia airport for a night, before an early international flight.
The bad - the hotel was great. However, I am extremely sure I booked the 2 nights in the city, the price was in Australian dollars on the website. My roughly AUD 700 for 2 nights turned into AUD$1150 once I received my bank statement!
I AM FURIOUS & WILL NEVER USE HOPPER AGAIN!
Don't waste your money buying what you think are safeguards with Hopper. Contact the airlines and when they don't help. Hopper blames them and you have your money away. Find a more credible company to work with.

If you need to modify any booking getting ahold of an agent on the phone is not possible unless your reservation was 'hopper VIP'. The automated phone lines are beyond frustrating.

Don't buy a hopper gift certificate. I received one over 6 months ago and have not been able to redeem it. I have spoken to so many people over 100 emails and phone calls and no one at hopper has been able to resolve the issue. They also will not issue a refund. So they have stolen $90.00 from me.
I will post the emails so people can see how ridiculous the excuses are. I can imagine a company which has received tens of millions from capital one, can higher a competent IT team.
I don't know who to talk to but I want my money back or fix it.

I was charged over a hundred dollars more for my stay through hopper.I stayed a weekend and it was 334 through hopper but the actual hotel was only 222 I was told I would be refunded the difference which wasn't true

The worst people i have ever dealt with! I spent over an hour on the phone with customer care trying to make a change on my reservation and got nowhere! Very frustrating! I tried to ask for her supervisor and got put on hold 3 times for 15 min each time! I finally got cut off! Never again! Stay away!

PLEASE DO NOT USE HOPPER! 48 HOURS PRIOR TO MY TRIP HOPPER SENT A EMAIL TO ME STATING MY HOST HAS CANCELED AND A REFUND WILL BE ISSUED IN 3-10 BUSINESS DAYS. I had reserved a resort in Orlando, FL. They charged me the reservation + the security fees. Okay. On the day of the check-in I received an email saying the meus for my room had to be picked up on a Smoke Shop near by the resort I was staying. I immediately thought that was strange, but I went (I had traveled to Orlando and had paid already). When I entered the smoke shop ad asked them for my keys, they said "I'm sorry, we have no idea what this is about". I went to the resort to see if they, at least, had my name on the reservation and of course they didn't. I called Hopper costumer service, which was HORRIBLE. They put me on hold for almost 30 minutes and kept transferring me from person to person, and no one was able to resolve anything. When I asked the lady for my refund, she said she would transfer me to her supervisor and put me on hold again. After a few minutes they hung up the call on me. DONT EVER THINK ABOUT BOOKING WITH THEM! I was lucky I had some extra money and I was able to pay for a new reservation on the same resort. I called my banks and got them to refund my money also.

This is my messages to hopper.
Took picture of flight guarantee said if delayed over 2 hours or cancelled $1000 to book on another airline. Which I took a picture of cause I laughed at this just another tax basically but was delayed 4 days last time I fly flair so I purchased. Then with my ticket I was sent saying it would only cover a flight that day or the next up to $300. What a joke you cant get anywhere last minute for $300, $1000 maybe and even then you probably have to kick in some cash. I took a picture of both and am happy to send it. You cant promise up to $1000 and when I pay it tell me I am only covered for $300.

After I canceled my booking my money went into the hopper wallet and not back on my card. It's impossible to talk to a representative to get my money back

On November 15,2023, I purchased an air ticket through the app with hopper booking code Z-E1GIL0T5B, worth $196.40 and added $37 dollars for change for any reason, for a total of 233.40. Because they assure in the app that they will refund the total purchase if it is necessary to change or cancel the flight. I had to cancel the flight and they only refunded me 25 dollars, it's ridiculous, it doesn't even cover what I paid to change for any reason. I tried calling the phones that they say work 24/7 and they didn't answer. But after filing a complaint with the BBB, this was their response, they do not give any reason why they do not return my money as they promise in the App, they do not even know how much the amount they returned me was, they are a disaster, have be very careful with this Hopper

I recently booked a flight with Hopper. Their app says One carry on bag is included, so this is why I booked that particular flight. Now, at the time of the check in, the airline charged us with $95 extra for our carry on which was supposed to be included.
Then I checked online with the airline and found that the type of flight I had booked does not really include any carry ons.
Of course I called Hopper and they asked me for a screenshot of the original offer in the app, which of course cannot be seen anywhere but only at the time of searching for flights. My only option was to search for a similar flight which still offered the carry on, so I sent them that along with the airline website info indicating that type of flight does not include carry ons.
There was no way at all to get back my $95.
DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING USING HOPPER.

I recently had a harrowing experience with Hopper, an online travel agency that claims to simplify the flight modification process. Unfortunately, my encounter with this company exposed their questionable business practices and left me deeply dissatisfied with their services.
One of the most alarming issues I faced was Hopper's deliberate obstruction of direct modifications with the airline. Despite their promises of convenience, Hopper essentially acts as a middleman, making it impossible for users to make changes to their flights directly. Any attempt to modify reservations through the airline is systematically blocked, forcing users to rely solely on Hopper's customer service.
Herein lies the second major problem – the non-existent and unresponsive customer service. Hopper's customer support claims to offer assistance through a chat service, but users are required to pay for the "privilege" of talking to a representative. This paywall is a red flag in itself, as legitimate companies typically provide customer support as part of their service.
To make matters worse, attempting to reach out to Hopper's customer service via email proved to be a futile exercise. The email account seems unmanned, leaving customers in a frustrating limbo, with no responses to urgent queries. This lack of responsiveness is not only unprofessional but also indicative of a company that intentionally ignores its customers, leaving them in the dark about critical issues.

I strongly advise against using Hopper for any travel arrangements, as the risks and frustrations far outweigh any potential benefits. Save yourself the headache and money – do not use Hopper.

Pictures of hotel looked decent, pull up to the hotel and rooms had doors and windows boarded up. No management on property or to even check me in. Called no answer knocked no answer called the customer service at Hopper and they basically said I was on my own cause I didn't pay for the cancellation option.
I'm out $108.00 and then had to go find another place to stay and that was another $100.001st time ever getting CATFISHED on a hotel room by a $#*!in app! Never again HOPPER - I do not recommend -O stars

Hopper did not link my flights from Cleveland to Denver to Vegas. Since they failed to link my flight my checked bag could only go to Denver, Frontier could not correct this before I left Cleveland. I had to get off the plane and run to baggage claim and recheck my bag and pay another $70. On top of that i barely made my next flight, it was very close. Hopper has been non-responsive. Their customer support is awful and they do not return messages.

Hopper books flights that they cannot or will not support their customers… they take the $$ for the reservation and will not do anything else to assist. I also discovered they overcharged $250 per ticket than it is normally, but will not cancel or refund. That is up to the airline. Worst service ever and it's a call center in India.

After I timely cancelled a reservation the system re-entered the same flight data and charged my credit card without authorization. There is no way to actually reach them to resolve problems. All of the phone numbers and addresses posted on their site lead to a dead end from which they never respond.

I am owed a refund from Hopper for a cancelled flight. The airline referred me to Hopper because I paid Hopper directly. I called Hopper multiple times, always getting a different story. Now they are telling me it is not their responsibility.
I will never book thru Hopper again. The low price is not worth the customer service run around.

1st flight time change and I wasn't informed. Because I missed that flight, they cancelled all remaining flights, including my return flights. I spent thousands to get home because of Hopper. Answer: File a claim with your bank. They charged me An additional 2 nights after hopper said they would refund my money. Instead they went without my consent n charged me an additional 2 nights. I was robbed for a total of 3 nights. Without being able to contact any support. A total Scam!
Answer: No they are about polar opposite of trustworthy. Run don't walk away from this company. My lesson cost $1435 dollars. If you require customer service look elsewhere they have none. Not even a phone number which is the first red flag.
