I booked a flight during the COVID-19 time. I tried refunding it and on Hoppers website it says that the operating airline is to refund the charged fees. As I called the hotline from british airways (operating airline) they let me know that it is in fact the operator I booked with who is the one to refund the fees. Now I tried to call the hopper hotline only to find out that they dont even have a proper customer support site. Rediculous. I am never going to book with this scamming side again. Even if they claim to have the lowest prices, in case the flight is cancelled its pure scam.

As many other people are reporting, Hopper are not giving out refunds. I booked a flight to Phoenix, Arizona which was canceled by Delta (similar to another reviewer here). I also got the 'Cancel For Any Reason' Insurance. Problem is, that you can't actually cancel through the application, though they say you can. They removed the button. You have to contact customer service, who are uncontactable. Anyone else affected, remember to post here and file a complaint with the BBB, to do your civic duty and bring down these corrupt companies. Also, review on TrustPilot where it has many fake reviews. This company is going to go bust, lawsuits are taking place.

Beware
June 12, 2020

First time and last time user of Hopper. As well as I'm informing everyone who is traveling to beware of Hopper. I made round trip reservations to travel using an airline booked through Hopper. I'd booked a hotel for three days as well as encouraging family to book their reservation through Hopper. I purchased to forms of Travel insurance and I was screwed. COVIT 19 broke out. My travel plans were stopped and Hopper ignored my purchase of two forms of insurance from them and apologized for giving me ZERO DOLLARS or any form of compensation for my inconvenience. Well, enjoy that $$$! It'll be the last from me. CONSUMERS BEWARE!

Don't use them

I would not even give them a star. We have been trying to make a claim for the "cancel anytime" extra insurance and they make it so difficult for you to do so. You can't find a phone number to speak to anyone. Never again.

I have very bad experience with Hopper this time when I need to cancel and refund the flights due to the impact of COVID-19. They don't have customer service phone number. You only can contact them via the App and leave message to chatting robots. I left messages multiple times with my cancellation request and asking for response/update. They just don't respond. Since you are not able to reach them directly, you can do nothing but wait while they don't respond you!

All 4 of my flights that have been cancelled due to the current situation with COVID-19. I contacted all the airlines I was flying with and they tell me I can ask for a refund but can only do it through hopper. I wrote to customer service with a lot of time in advance and I'm still waiting for a response from this app. Mt flight was due long time ago and really stressed over this because just want my money back.

Fraud

I purchased the any reason cancellation policy and was notified today that they gave me a credit with the airline. I filled out the appropriate online forms for cancelling and they even quoted the amount I would receive back as a refund. Cannot get any response from them as it is only an automated message. Filing a complaint with the better business bureau. This company are fraudsters.

I have 4 airline cancellations because of the coronavirus. Aeroflot cancel the flight from Venice to Miami, Emirates we when to the office in Rio da Janeiro to ensure that our flight was cancel also submitted cancelations for two more reservations via hopper. According to hopper my credit card should be credit in 14 business days but so far I didn't received any credit and they are not responding my messages.

I have booked my ticket through Hopper with British Airways and paid for all types of insurance too and my flight was on March 14,2020, from USA to Turkey and return on March 31,2020, from Turkey to USA, however, due to COVID-19 President Trump banned all Travels from USA to Europe and vice versa on March 11,2020 so I have messaged Hopper since this fraud company has no direct number, I contacted British Airways couldn't reach anyone for days till to date. I don't know how to sue them they have my money more than 3 weeks now. Today I rechecked Hopper messenger they removed all my flight info and messages They are fraud never buy ticket from them and the government should find out where they are located and they should be jailed by stealing people money during this pandemic and unemployment.

I paid for addl insurance through you to cancel with no penalty and tried contacting you all for 3week see all the messages above and on the day of my flight you tell me you cant refund my money.and th re airlines cant help me. This is a fraud and I'm going to file a com. Plaint and write reviews about the addle 17.00 per insurance to cancel at anytime for any reason is a hoax and how if you responded this late to me that I cant receive even credit for my $313.00 which I paid for these flights.

No customer service. Took over two weeks to get a vauge response. I asked for a phone number or e-mail address of an actual human I can speak with. They said they had no phone number and refused to give me any contact info to speak to anyone. SCAM.

AWFUL

I cancelled a flight in Feb w/in 24 hrs, rec'd conf. It was cancelled and I'd be refunded. It is 4/3 and still no refund. I've been trying to get in touch with customer service weeks to cancel my family's trip-I paid for the ability to be canc/ref w/out hassle... WELL my flight is < 72 hs now. I will sue if I don't receive an explanation and a FULL refund. I'm writing here in hopes an admin sees this and starts offering better service.

TERRIBLE

I planned a trip to Galveston, Tx a couple of months ago before the Corona Virus was big. And now it has grown and my concern of becoming sick is real. The fact that you don't have a real person to contact and that its all over instant messaging is super frustrating. Anyways, I applied for a refund BECAUSE of the fact that Galveston is basically shut down as a city. I do not want to get sick or get my girlfriend sick for going. All they did was cancel my trip but did not issue a REFUND because of the PANDEMIC that is going on. I would understand not refunding if I just canceled under normal circumstance. BUT there is a pandemic... I need my refund... and I need to be able to get in contact with someone via telephone. NOT a chat system that takes hours and sometimes days to be responded to. THIS IS RIDICULOUS

I've been using Hopper for a few years to book trips and have never had a problem since I've never had to reach out to Customer Service before. Due to the COVID-19 I've had to cancel two flights, much in advance and have yet to hear back from anyone. I've sent several messages which have gone unanswered. One of my trips was over $700. There is no phone number to contact Hopper which makes this even more frustrating. I've contacted the airlines and have been told that Hopper has to resolve the issue. I will never use Hopper again! This is the worst customer service I have ever received. I didn't know it was legal to not have the option of calling a company.

After attempting to cancel a trip booked on hopper for weeks I sit here out 1600$ for a trip that cannot even happen. Hopper doesn't respond to anything, emails, chats, NOTHING! I called both airlines and they cannot do anything since Hopper is the "agency" who books the flights. Ironically, one of the airlines has already canceled the flight, yet Hopper is doing NOTHING!
During a time where the world is in a crisis, the behavior of this company is despicable. If I had directly booked through Jet Blue the tickets would have been refunded with one call... no problem.
WARNING... DO NOT USE HOPPER

Trip was cancelled by them because of covid 19 which i understood, did not get the cancellation trip till an hour before the flight. They sent out a text for the cancellation of the trip and did NOT refund me even though it was on their behalf. Have to put a dispute with the bank. And when I look for the purchase on my hopper app, they erased my purchase but yet still have not been refunded.

Hopper is a joke. I will NEVER use it again. I messaged them for the first time February 15th about making a change to my booking and have yet to get a response. My flight was canceled and I should get a refund but I can't even get a reply! Why do they not have an email or phone number? Because they are crooks. DO NOT BOOK WITH HOPPER!

I have dealt with various travel companies in the past. Hopper was by far the WORST experience I have ever had. We had a flight to Key West for a wedding there. I bought insurance on the flight just in case. As the coronavirus hit and people were being told to shelter in place the wedding was canceled. We were in a shelter in place so I called to cancel the fight and get a refund. I was told that Coronavirus was not a valid reason to receive a refund on the ticket. That was honestly the most ridiculous thing I have heard. Goes to show how much Hopper cares about its consumers. I would NEVER recommend this company to another person.
