Home Depot's reputation is marked by a mix of positive and negative customer experiences. Many customers appreciate the wide selection of products and the knowledgeable staff, which contribute to a convenient shopping experience. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly related to installation issues, return policies, and delayed deliveries. Customers frequently report dissatisfaction with the handling of complaints and a perceived lack of support, leading to frustration and a sense of being undervalued. Overall, while the company offers a robust product range, its customer service approach appears inconsistent, impacting overall satisfaction.

Not sure whether or not the Home Depot wants to honor the military with the 10% discount because they seem to make it more and more difficult to get it. Now you have to download some stupid app and login and then scan some pdf 417 barcode on your phone which is just idiotic and ends up taking up more time at the check out. Home Depot get a grip and make it better for military folks and not more difficult just to get the 10% discount, unless you really don't want to honor the people who put their lives on the line so that you can enjoy the FREEDOM and LIBERTY the military has protected during this life time...
We scheduled a specific day and time for a delivery and although it was confirmed Home Depot never showed
I ordered a gas dryer on 9/28 and it was scheduled for delivery on 10/8. I received a phone call the day before, telling me that a plumber would be out to connect it to the gas within 24 hours of delivery. When it was delivered, the delivery people said that it would not get installed the next day as it was a Sunday and that Monday or Tuesday would be the install date. On Monday I received a call telling me that it had been rescheduled until Thursday. I called Home Depot because no one would be available in the morning due to existing work commitments. I said I could do anytime after noon on Thursday and they said they would make a note of it. On Wednesday at 3:30pm I got a voicemail that my install window was 7:30-11:30 am on Thursday and there was no call back number or other info to reschedule. I called and now they can't install my dryer until 16 days from now. This is super frustrating since the first 2 times were fine. I will literally never buy an appliance from Home Depot again.
The Home Depo in Bradenton Florida on Cortez is a less than 1 star in my book. I took my elderly mother shopping at HD for a new planter and plant, found just what we wanted, only problem was it was on the top shelf and this began the problem. After I walked a around a good 15 minutes to find someone to help get get the planter down, 4 HD employees later the queen of rude arrived. Twice this lady yelled at my mom " which pot is it "? And then she pulled a planter from the bottom shelf and said " here you go" and there sat a mold covered planter, which I was told would wash right up. Remember none of this is said in a nice tone or manner. I had enough at this point, told my mom let's forget this and go to Lowes. I'm done shopping at Home Depot, NEVER AGAIN!
Bought a dishwasher, we were told we would receive instructions for delivery. We listened and we trusted what we were told! What a game this entire company plays! The worst! We sent the product back unopened because they were 2 hours late!
I purchased a new dishwasher from HD and it was delivered last Friday morning early; however it was missing a water connection kit. The third party installers were great and very polite. They informed me what was missing, gave me information to text or call HD, said they had spoken with their contact person with HD so they knew what was needed. Before noon I texted endlessly with someone that said they had the information needed and that someone would be back with be before the end of the day. Monday I texted again. None knew about my problem. Again, texted endlessly, person said they would be on it. This morning I texted again. Was told I needed to contact Whirlpool with the serial number and they would take it from there. This person also said call early in the day because I'll be on hold a long time. Now I wonder what is HD's role in this purchase transaction; I suppose they made a profit off of the sale, however they cut me loose to deal with this myself. My rating for their customer service on a scale from 1 to 10 is minus 3.
Home Depot NO COMPASSION FOR CUSTOMERS. I purchased some flooring and before finishing the installation, my Sons CANCER turned for the worse, so did not have time to finish floor, as I was helping to take care of him, and wanted to spend time with him, he passed away and then I completed the floor and had purchased more flooring than I needed and they will not refund me for the flooring as it is past the return time frame on the receipt. I was happy to take a store credit for it, Very very disappointing. All of you who either have had Cancer or someone you loved or knew, had Cancer which is almost everyone in the World may want to think twice about shopping at Home Depot.
Since I am working on home projects I went to Home Depot 3 times this week. The first time I had to wait 30+ minutes to get help getting and loading garden soil in my vehicle. The next time I need help finding the right items. After walking through the entire store, seeing a total of 5 employees, ALL helping more than one individual, I left and went somewhere else. Today I went back to purchase kitchen appliances. ( I had looked at them the last two times I was there but the only person I could find was already engaged with a sale.) This time I sat and waited (approx 6-7 min) for the gentleman at the other desk to finish with his client. He was kind enough to let me know that he was not in this dept but was just helping out until the girl working in the dept was finished with her other client. After waiting and looking around for another 15 or so minutes, I saw her and asked if I could interrupt to ask a question. She then told me she would have to look up the issue as she did not work that dept normally. The ONE and ONLY person scheduled to work in the entire appliance section had to call in sick so she was covering. I have complained to management on other occasions about the understaffing, to be told that according to their"sales" the staffing was appropriate. Well... maybe so since today I went somewhere else to spend my $6000. 00. It is a shame because your employees are exceptional when you can find one available.
NEVER AGAIN will I purchase any item from Home Depot. I ordered a GE washer/dryer unit for a rental property in August—over a span of 1.5 months, 3 deliveries were made with the product severely damaged each time. One of those times, delivery crew damaged the pipes and walls AND threatened my tenants. There was a 4th attempt at delivery but the delivery crew failed to wait for the 15-min window and left without completing delivery. Unbelievably awful experience and so I will never shop at Home Depot again.
I ordered a ladder on 9/10 that supposed to be delivered to the store on 9/16-21. It is only 100 miles away in their warehouse. Received email that the product in on the way and will be there on 21st. 100 miles, I can walk there and back in 11 days. Comes 20th and I tried to track the progress but no tracking is available. Called customer service and they told me that they can't track it either. Comes 21st still no tracking. Called customer service they said more likely item is already in the store and to call the store. I tried to call the store but no one is picking up. Comes 22nd I finally was able to reach someone in the store and got the same exact answer. CAN'T TRACK.
Called customer service again. They said had to re-order the item again and send it to the store. For another week of wait.
I never liked the Home Depot because I think they are really bad but this one really tops it all.
I have ordered online several times from Home Depot and they use UPS to deliver in our area. They are not reliable and my items have gone to 12 Cities, Two Provinces and Two Countries and still not arrived at our home. Home Depot needs to use a different more reliable Delivery Service.
They offer a $25.00 gift card but that's not the point. They know about the problem and should fix it by using a different service.
Delivered great package great looks great haven't had power failure yet easy to read instructions Home Depot is my favorite store to buy this type of product between champion and them I will be fine
Ordered two patio chair covers from Home Depot. Shipment came in a large box, but contained only one cover. Phone calls to Home Depot "Customer Care" failed to resolve the issue. HD would NOT ship the missing item, and suggested I dispute the charge with my bank. This for a customer who regularly spends substantial amounts at Home Depot, including a $1700 refrigerator just last month. The item in question cost less than $30. HD spent more than that in not accepting responsibility for a missing item. I hate being driven away from a store I like, but that's what happened.
It took 82 days for them to complete the job. That is from the time they put the first window in til that completed by putting the last screen in. Very POOR pro service. I would most likely still be waiting if I did not call and find out the screens have been sitting in the warehouse for a week. Windows are good but service is a 1.
In 2019 (two separate installments, one in winter the second in spring) we spent over $25,000 installing all new windows in our home. When it rained recently rain poured in one of our second story windows, all the caulk fell out and the rain went into the electronics on my desk. A representative from HD came out and assessed that they were not responsible since the installation was more than a year ago. He hinted that the work was not done correctly (obviously) and I also surmised from this conversation that his company was the original installer! Of course he's not going to admit his company did a poor job. I feel I was misled and exploited by Home Depot. I hate to see which of my 36 windows fails next. After spending that much money with HD I was shocked that they would not caulk one window.
Terrible experience with renting a pressure cleaner: lost 4 hours of my time going back and forth changing equipment, paid 3 hours of the cleaning guy and filled with gasoline the tanks if 2 different machines.
And I didn't even get an apology!
Maytag washer
This thing is absolute junk. Worked for two months and was broke down for the next 6 months because Maytag will not service due us being "too remote". We are 6 miles from the Priest River city center and 18 miles from home depot in Sandpoint. The closest certified repair person is 9 hours south in Boise. Finally got it fixed after 6 months and guess what? Its broken again with the same F2E2 code. Why does Home Depot sell products that are not supported? Shame on HD because they know all of this. Not to mention i bought the extended warranty. Save your money on that too, it's useless. Believe it or not but they actually gave us a brand new Hotpoint washer to use while ours was waiting for repair and that is now leaking gear oil all over the floor. Junk is Junk! & Good Luck!

I bought a Electrical Stove and does not come with a plug. Plus the salesman there did not say anything about it, clearly, he does not know what he is doing.
I made a mistake ordering my book case (Manhattan Comfort) online in home depot. It was supposed to be delivered in 2 weeks. I called up after 3 weeks to check. Home depot order processing was sitting on my order all this time and sending the order to vendor after I called up. I had to cancel this order. So much time wasted!
Answer: Hi Betty, you can also return without receipt if you purchased using your credit card. Give them the same CC and they can tell the price you bought at.
