The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

They were here when they said they would be. They were very professional, and they gave me a fair price
Very quick to get me in contact with several referrals that could do the job I requested
Way too many cold calls. I wasted days answering calls that could have been used on the project.
Let us know when they would arrive. Informative, friendly and efficient.
I had a terrible experience with HA. I reached out to HA in hopes of finding a professional to help me repair my central heating system. They were quick to set me up with a professional and take my payment, but come the day of the appointment the professional failed to show up. After calling HA multiple times, they made no attempt to contact the professional or assign me to another. It really makes me wonder how the screening process works when they add a contractor to their business. Also, the fact that they made no effort to rectify the inconvenience was disappointing. I will never again use this business moving forward.
At first I was not happy they had refereed a contractor who after being hired showed up drunk and continued drinking through the day. Would leave at noon when he did show up leaving one guy to do what work he could do. But they did call and work with me.
I requested names for tree removal and was sent four. Two of the services contacted me and gave me a bid after coming to my property. The Outfit I chose gave a reasonable price and did great work. I was very happy with the whole operation beginning to end.
Angi offered several plumbers to contact. Ace Construction was the first and they called me. I described the problem and sent a photo of the flush mechanism in the toilet to them so they would have the model number to see if parts were available. They determined they were, they got what they needed and were at my house and finished within about four hours of my initial contact. All that was very good. The problem is I have had four or five calls a day for two days from Angi asking if the problem is fixed and soliciting business. They are a nuisance and I have stopped taking the calls.
So I signed up for this service and was quite impressed by what I was offered. I was told that if I paid the $29.99 service I would pay $43 per service, saving me money. I was extremely excited about the service. Well, that is as far as my excitement went as when the guy came out to do my lawn he did a bad job. He did not clean up the leaves and when he was done with the job he just left. I was a little off-put as I thought at least he could say 'Bye' but when I went out, I too would have run away. I guess he did not care about doing a good job. The whole premise of their fixed price promise is based on a lie and is misleading. As for my next service, I was charged early and was charged the full price. Not the 10% off. When I called up I was refunded but not after a lot of arguing. Avoid this company as their website uses words that define the service, but whether they are aware of it or not the company is breaking laws in legal terms of their promise.
Adam was on time, very accommodating, called when he said he would. His helper was very nice as well.
I will call him if I ever have the need.
I have never used Anji before, and posted a relatively small project. I had responses from at least four businesses within a day. In two days my project was done. I was very impressed with each business that contacted me. I would absolutely use Angi again in the future.
I lined up an Electrician to do my wiring in one day. I am happy with my experience.
I love home Advisor. They call and follow up and make sure there isn't something else you need. I don't have to go back into the app to fill things out. They will send a list of contractors in your email. It's been an amazing experience. Lots of personal care!
Bunker Landscaping was a top notch pro. Thank you to Home Advisor for recommending them. Bravo
Cardinal Carpet replaced a seam in the carpet when he restretched the carpet and the seam looked better than the original seam. I was very impressed.
Filled out questionnaire online for work I needed. Was contacted the next day by the company I ended up using, they were phenomenal. My only issue is that now I keep getting calls asking if I found someone to haul away my furniture, who I used, if I have any other projects I need help with. Just make it stop already!
Very prompt response. Contractor was great and kept me informed through the process.
Acted most professional while providing, very fair priced, high quality work on time as promised. Works with a sense of purpose and listens to what is asked for. This craftsman is a hard working true gentleman.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
