The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

I used HomeAdvisor to find a person to install my vinyl plank flooring. I had not even finished inputting information about the project before I was contacted by G and D Construction. I hired the company. The installer did a great job. It was easy to find an installer using HomeAdvisor.
Very courteous and professional did very good work was very happy with the time quality little disappointed in the price but overall happy very happy thank you
Contractor came to pick up mattress and hauled off.
Pretty good. Got two good estimates, and one who pressured to go quick. The one going quick was $500 more than the others, with the excuse they had a 6-month backlog. But could move project up because it was an emergency. Price would be locked in if you accepted that day. Not good. People know when someone is bull-$#*!ting.
Also forcing you to get the App to read the email correspondence isn't cool for those not so savvy in using Apps. Just give the message in the email too.
I always call home advisor for my projects. I am never disappointed.
Everything explained to me and a follow up call after work was done. A pleasant experience.
Company arrived Friday afternoon and looked at the project. They went to finish another job. They returned Monday morning at 7:30 AM and installed a new pipe from the water heater. They lit the water heater.
The recommendations provided were not screened well. The one that was rated highest by Angi was a person who was operating out of his garage, thus not an established business. Also, I have continued to get messages from Angi for things I have not interest in.
On the coldest night of the year, our forced air furnace quit working. I tried cleaning the filters and rebooting the entire system. No luck. When the sun rose, it was single digit temperatures outside and down to 60 in parts of the house. I searched on line for a repair person, hoping I could get one to come out on Monday. ASC Air Services was able to schedule for that Sunday afternoon.
They did an amazing job! I highly recommend them to everyone! They were very professional and took great care with our belongings. Would definitely hire them again!
Home advisor does good job. There response is good. They always followup.
Great and fast turnaround for what I needed. Very helpful service when you're new to a city.
Very prompt response to my initial contact. Contractor was terrific to work with.
Booked 12/16/21 for 12/17/21
We were scheduled for a 6pm service tonight. Around 10:00 this morning I received a text from an unknown number simply asking me for my number so they could call me. I had to question who it was because they never even introduced themselves or why they were calling! They THEN explained they were the handyman being sent for our service that evening and said they were going to call me, which I assumed was soon after, but I didn't hear anything so I went to work. We waited from 6 to 6:30 but when no one showed up I contacted Angi and spoke to someone who gave me our handyman's number to reach out to him. When I finally reached him he told me he needed to reschedule until next Tuesday. I told him that was unacceptable because our shower is completely inoperable and that I would be calling to cancel. When I called Angi back, I spoke to Jessibel who I explained to that I wanted to cancel because the handyman was not able to come as scheduled tonight. She told me that I could reschedule for Monday, but again I told her that was unacceptable and that I wanted to be refunded. She said nothing else and the very next thing I hear is a dial tone from her hanging up on me! No apology, no explanation, so I don't even know if she has even really cancelled. Because I scheduled through Angi yesterday, I passed on other opportunities to get our work completed by this weekend. This experience was completely unprofessional and unacceptable! I will never use Home Advisor again and will share with others this experience I had and tell them to beware!
After I signed up with them I got a recommendation to Shine Bright Carpet and I requested a quote, I got a call and he wanted to know what day was best for me, I said I was home now since it was mid morning, he had just finished a project and said he can come over, he did and gave me a quote and I hired him on the spot. He did a great job, I was glad I did.
Excellent. I was looking for a company to cut down 60 ft trees. I initiated on a Friday. They got three outfits to contact me before the following week. They called back with follow up on Monday.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
