However... the electrician they (Home Advisor) recommended to run electricity to my hot tub scammed me and skipped out on finishing the job they started because I paid him in advance...! I was very foolish to do so...! He lied to me several times and is not a good man.

We would've never found our great painter without Angi. I appreciate the reviews and the whole way it works, now much is required and it's free! The only downside was there were too many calls from too many businesses long after I hired someone, so that could've been the fault of the businesses or Angi; I don't know.
He was very courteous and in and out within 1 hour. Found the problem and I didn't need the garbage disposal replaced after all. It was just an electrical issue and after a little trouble shooting to rule out possibilities, he found it. Ask for Scott's :)

I signed on to this website, and within minutes I had several great choices to choose from. I hired the first one that I met with because he was professional, on time and gave me a great quote on several properties that were in need of gardening. He did a great job, and will come back weekly.

I would have wanted a less evasive experience. I have blocked Anji from sending messages and reported to spam.
Angi has charged me multiple times for leads that never call me back even though i call as soon as i get the text, charging me $25-$45 per lead. They even charged me for leads outside of my designated coverage area.
This sort of BS with unvetted leads, "customer left no information regarding the job" and other shady crap boils down to nothing more than stealing from small contractors, Angi List appears to be another large Corporation that pitches a good game but doesn't deliver. Be warned - they pester the crap out of you too. Calling at the most inopportune times.
HomeAdvisor quoted a price of $559 to have a fence extended on my property. The actual cost came in a bit over $2600. I'm not certain what HomeAdvisor is for. Also as I attempted to finalize the online order I was automatically shunted to a site where I had to take out a loan from a third party for the quoted price.
I had a good experience with HomeAdvisor. I have used this service several times. I will use them again in the future. I look at the reviews to make sure that others have had a good experience with the company.
