The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

I have used HomeAdvisor now for several projects. It gives me the ability to get multiple quotes and picking a professional that fits my budget and personal qualifications.
Kitchen cabinet install. The project was done in super great time. And we have nothing but good things to report
Hard Working Ladies were hired to clean my house and I can highly recommend these Ladies. They're hard working and very thorough.
Excellent. Juan was professional and timely. Kept us apprised of the project status.
I called many tree service companies and could not get one to show up for an estimate. Home Advisor got me two firms to contact me within a day.
Very good, dependable service... very personable and professional AND honest with us about tasks
Always find this to be a good source. I like receiving more than one contact for comparison shopping, price shopping and sometimes scheduling. I also like the follow-up call. I know the people being offered are consistently vetted by Angi's list through this follow-up process. That makes me comfortable with the referrals given. Next to word of mouth, it is the next best thing.
This company is reliable, knowledgeable and prompt.
I have my company in Miami Florida and the truth is I have a bad experience with Angy. They send you the approximate monthly expenses that one proposes in just one week and 97% of the leads are wrong numbers or clients who have already completed the project. They never give you credit and it's always a lie. For a supervisor to call you back, it takes almost two weeks when the term has already expired. You spend $800 a month on ads and at the end of the day it's garbage
I was very happy to have multiple calls from cleaning companies after I requested a quote on Angi's list.
Contacted HA to obtain company to repair chimney vandalized by woodpeckers. Submitted online form. Got quick response from several companies. Arranghed for 3 to send reps and submit estimates. Picked the one that seemed best in terms of work and price.
I understand the service is to get contractors to help out on a project. I would like to choose from a list and not be forced to call the first 3 that pop up in the search. Then once the project is submitted I get bombarded with a phone call from all over the country. I only answer a phone call from people in my contact list so every call turns out to be a calling center trying to set up an appointment because they got a trigger from HomeAdvisor. I wouldn't know because I never saw a list of potential contractors. I really don't like that kind of service. I'd rather be able to pick who I want and not get hassled by phone centers trying to book an appointment and not know anything else but to book the appointment.
I would prefer getting a list of roofers and allowing me to check them out and decide who I wanted rather than giving me several names. I didn't care for some of the comments on the BBB and other sites on these company's. A couple called me relentlessly even after I told them they were not in the running.
Excellent.
I found a mover that had great communication, excellent service, and affordable.
This website CAN be a good tool if it's used correctly. Find a contractor that has over 20 reviews positive reviews that is then go with that company.
I had a horrible experience with them and here's why: I went to the site to find a contractor to build me a covered patio. Then minutes later I got a handful of calls from this company with suggestions as to who I should call! This should be a big no no! If they do suggest a company at least have it be a company that has over 20 positive reviews! BUT NO! They suggested me someone who was close to me but only had maybe 2 reviews at the time. So I hired them trusting home advisor… Which was the biggest mistake of my life! I hired the company and paid them over $19,000. For a job and they only did part of it and never came back to finish the job! Lesson learned… don't trust this website and you guys should never suggest a company to any potential customers where the company has less than 20 reviews. If I did my own research and didn't get a few calls from you then I would've saved me a few thousand dollars! Anyway you guys need to work on that and now I've lost thousands of dollars to a company that you guys suggested to me. That company btw is RCR Contracting, LLC. They should be removed asap from this website.
Alex was very personable. He completed the job in approximately 1 hour. I will definitely call him again.
Extremely happy with home advisor
I received many reliable company's to work with immediately, and was very happy with applied techs professional care of my property and attention to detail.
I honestly can't say enough goog things
Home Advisor Powered by Angi is more complicated than Home Advisor was. There are more steps and I'm not sure what step of the process I'm in at any given time. I got multiple emails about booking my project after I had chosen a vendor (who responded very quickly, and the work was completed. I don't like getting an estimate on the job without speaking with anyone. It's too easy for something to be lost in the process.
Expert service from united sewer and water. After the person left 2 other home owners staed that they will call them. Thank you home advisors for continune help.
I like using HomeAdvisor because it provides vetted professionals that can be contacted right away.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
