The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

Had a smaller painting job scheduled to finish painting our kitchen ceiling. No call. No show. No nuthin. Took over an hour on the phone with 5 different reps to get to a place where they could refund me. Their customer service line? Yeah... isn't taking calls. Save your cash. Save yourself some trouble. DO NOT USE THEM. It will be interesting to see how long my refund takes.
We had Ironwood Tree Service LLC remove two pine trees from our yard. One of the trees was dead the other was a large healthy but needed to be removed for other reasons. Sean, the owner, came out, discussed how the removals would be done, how long it would take and how the clean up would be done. The dead tree was quickly removed. The other tree was removed piece by piece. We had several flower beds near the healthy tree, great care was taken and none of those plants were damaged in the tree removal. We had also asked for the stumps to be ground down below ground level, this was done a couple days later and all debris was removed. Sean and his crew were professional, polite and left everything absolutely looking great.
Problem wasnt fixed and there is magically no one to talk to.
Spend your money elsewhere Its complete garbage
They force leads w/o your consent and then attempt to bill you? I cancelled my CC the second I saw how they lie and yet they still send leads, won't hv a supervisor call me, and constantly lies. This company needs to be sued and I might be the one to do it. Disgusting.
I just think it's stupid ridiculous that you get charged just for leads before you even get to close those leads and get the job! At the end of just 1 week we got charged over $300 for So called "leads" and they weren't even serious clients or ready to hire! So we lost $300 and didn't make any money at all in just ONE WEEK oh you bet I'm not staying for TWO.
They will send hundreds of fake leeds regardless just to rack up as much money to charge every month. Even after countless times of asking them to cancel my account because of surgery I was going through they begged me to stay with them lying to me that I wouldn't be charged anymore. Guess what a hefty bill came in.
I have been having trouble trying to find a contractor to fix my pool heater. Home Advisor stated for a fixed price they would send a contractor to fix the pool at an agreed upon time. Two days before the appointment they confirmed the appointment. At 6:45 the morning of the appointment they text me that there was a Pro call out and would have to reschedule. First what the hell is a "call out", second why confirm, Third they didn't even have a contractor to do the job. But I paid in advance and yes "$#*! happens". But the next appointment the same thing happened. I can't keep rambling on about the poor customer service. Suffice to say just find your own contractor and stay away from Home Scammers.
This company is horrible. I paid for a service ahead of time, through the company. The service provider showed up to my house an hour and a half late. He did not call to verify that he would be late and did not apologize. I called Home Advisor twice. Upon arrival he stayed at my house for 30 minutes of the 2 hour time and said we needed another part. Instead of going to the hardware store, that's less than 5 minutes away, he persisted that her had other appointments and that he would but the part and come back this afternoon. He never showed back up and did not answer his phone upon calling. I'm out of 150.09 and I still don't have the problem fixed. He has the nerve to ask for a tip for him going to the store for the part during the previous conversation. I'm beyond pissed. Don't use Home Advisor.
Contacted Home Advisor for help on a clothes dryer. Was told Ii would get 4 replies. Got one. When called the Quote price was increased and for two hours of work with no guarantee the dryer would be repaired in that time. When pressed they said thequotet only covered labor as all parts were extra. So much for fixed price. This service is a scam. Don't waste your time.
After explaining to Tony my expriance and concern with Homeadvisor, I continously receive other calls from staff members.
Satisfied with repair timly and accurate Recommended to neighbors
Work completed at a fair price, Not paid until job was completed.
Home Advisor is awful if you are a pro wanting to provide services you get charged regardless of you being used by the owner or not. They pull you in with sales and deals but then fail to support anything they say. They have a customer service number that is not active when the recording says it should be active, they have live chat that they don't answer, and they have features on the site that prevent you from doing much. This company is all about making another dollar and could careless about the companies that are paying them. If you are considering signing up with Home Advisor to expand your services, run away, they don't deserve the pros that work with them. Furthermore, they try to get you to sign up even though you don't really fit the services they are mainly focused on by trying to convince you that it will still be worthwhile. My current services I got about $500 worth of leads and membership for $100 and I would never renew. I rarely use the word HATE but I HATE this company. I recommend that all homeowners stop using their services as well as they are supporting a company of greed.
Stop using this app. It is unfair to the contractors. If 4 companies bid on the job, all get charged regardless of who wins the job. Up to $90 each! Many "leads" can't even be contacted and yet you are charged a fee. Try to get your money back and you might as well forget it in many cases.
We discovered a leak in our attic from the overhead pipes. We contacted Home Advisors on line. Right away, we were contacted by Barry J. Wasden of Regal Plumbing. He came right away and made the repair. We were VERY impressed with this young man, and will not hesitate in calling him again for future plumbing jobs. Page Family
Used home mis advisor lately for our house renovation..one guy came for drywall never came back.. prepaid for pool repair.. bumped us twice after we changed our schedules all around.. now an hour before he was coming again...no show must reschedule..do not ever use them.. unfortunately they have it rigged that the pop right up when you look for contractors.. don't be fooled..use word of mouth and recommended pros.
Home Advisor created a profile on my business without my permission and there is a 2.5 review on there from a customer from 2006 out of Littleton Colorado. I just started this company last year Louisville Tennessee
From the providers side, their business model consists of getting you membership fee and then wholesale ignoring you as far as service goes. Just have a look at that reviews and see for yourself.
Master pro Zach was great. Very professional, courteous and prompt. I was very pleased with their work.
I found someone in Chelsea Al for yard work. He did the work but not very professionally. I must have gotten 5-6 phone calls from home advisor questioning me before the person even showed up. I couldn't get them to stop so I quit answering their calls and it finally ended.
They send leads to multiple contractors for work that is already completed and make money on all contractors. Which is fraud
Beware of there service
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
