Agreed to permit job estimate from same. After deliberating several options over a weeks time, offered job to same Company. Results were excellent.

Erin and Abe at Home Advisor were both most helpful, particularly Erin. Erin arranged for two contractor appointments. I used one of those contractors.
I did not like getting two immediate email request for payment from Home Advisor when I was going to pay the contractor directly. I paid the contractor the full amount, on the day of the work, and he deposited that check the same day. He could not have gotten his money faster.
I tried to use HomeAdvisor for a week and a half. Wish I had looked at this site before I signed on. I got a total of four leads in the week and a half. Of those four leads only one could be considered viable. I was credited for two of the bad leads. The third was reviewed and I was told I would not receive a credit for it. The lead was for work that I had not listed as one of my services.
After telling them that I wanted to cancel the service I got a call from customer service. I was basically told that I had not given it enough time. I paid $100 to start up and got one lead that may pan out in 3-4 months. They offered me credits, but what good are they if I get bad leads.
If you are a customer looking for a pro, take the time to make sure you are picking the right category for the work you are looking for. Recommend looking for local contractors. They will be more responsive and less likely to blow you off.

We had a salesman stop in and we told him we wanted to think about it. So the salesman said he wanted credit card info in case we decided we wanted to start. They instantly started charging the card with out our permission and when we refused to pay they sent it to collections
I was pretty specific in what services I was seeking in placing my ad, but because it had the word lawn in it, apparently that opens the flood gates to everybody who does anything with lawns, especially lawn mowing services.
I have used Home Advisor three times to find professional services and have been very pleased with each experience.
