The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

Excellent. Used great company, service was excellent.
Interviewed 2 contractors over the weekend- chose one-
Work was done by Wednesday
Very pleasant, the crew was all friendly and professional.
Contractor responded right away and followed thru on appointment, price was fair could not be more pleasant
I have had nothing but positive experiences working with vendors recommended by Home Advisor. My issue is that when I request a quote the request also seems to go out to the open market which has meant I get a lot of offers from firms/people that have not been screened by Home Advisor. This is troubling to me.
I found Home Advisor to be an excellent source for anyone seeking professional contractors to work on their home projects. They will contact the contractors for you and shortly thereafter you will receive a phone call from several perspective candidates. This aspect of their service is very helpful. You have the option of negotiating your price with the contractor or hire through Home Advisor at a discounted price for a nominal annual fee as a subscriber. Great job Home Advisor!
Mr. Salazar was very professional and prompt. I appreciated his attention to do his work well. I highly recommend him to anyone that is looking for an expert outdoor tile setter.
I had a great experience finding a handyman to install cabinets for my garage.
This is our second time using Home Advisor for our projects. We have been extremely pleased with the companies that we hired with Home Advisor. I am very happy to have your program available whenever we are in need of any help with any projects that we no longer have time for.
I was contacted by Home Advisor and offered a "special deal" $100.00 for $300.00 worth of leads. It sounded like ma good idea so I tried it.
I received a total of 10 leads (which used up the whole $300.00) leads ranged from $28.00 to over $70.00.
I got 2 jobs out of those 10 leads and never even got a return call or email from the other 8 after I quoted the job or asked for more information.
My prices are lower than most contractors in my area so that's not the issue.
I made a total of $400.00 on the 2 jobs that I did get... Now if I were able to only pay $100.00 for this amount of lead without a "special deal" that would be great but keep in mind these leads will normally cost me $300.00 out of pocket cash. Paying $300.00 to make $400.00 is a sure way to bankruptcy.
How do I know that HA doesn't just send false leads to me just to make themselves money?
Is there a site out there that charges me based on if/when I actually win and get paid for the job? Please tell me if there is because I would join that one IMMEDIATELY.
This place and all places of it's kind are SCAMS
Googled house cleaning on Friday. Home advisor gave me a list of 10 services to request a quote. By Saturday Heaven Seed contacted me, came on Sunday to see what needed to be done and give me a quote. Came today, Wednesday, to clean.
2 pros came out and looked at project and said they would get back to me and I never heard from them again. I assume the project was too small. However, the pro I hired was excellent, and I am hiring that pro for additional work
I tried Home Advisor several years ago after seeing advertisements on the television. I found it easy to navigate their website and find contractors in my area. I appreciate the follow-up because it showed that they were interested in their recommended contractors as well as the feelings of their clients.
I was called by David McGowen, he came and measured and told me how much paper I would need AND where to get it. He showed up the next day and I have 2 beautiful walls within 3 hours!
Requested for assistance and within minutes how do you professional to contact
It took me three companies before I found the right surveillance company SO you need to shop on any type of project
Pleasant and efficient. I would highly recommend. It was nice using a company that was close to home.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
