I am very disappointed with Home Advisor. I was not with this company (Thank God) for a long time. They are ripping people up in front of their faces. I have spoken today to two salespeople and two managers to help me out with another $ 400.00 of charges knowing my account was paused until December 4th. (Today is 10/28/20). For the previous month, I was supposed to receive a credit of $325.00. My account was never credited. The sales representatives are not telling the truth. They are choosing words to screw people like me. On 10/02/20, I have spoken to Mark. At that time, I was trying to cancel because I was getting false leads; for example, we clean residential houses only. The lead was to clean gutters, outside windows, etc. The other issue was once the lead shows, I try to reach the customer, and the recording says that it's not accepting calls because the machine is full. It seems that I'm blocked out. Another client has answered but was very unhappy that I've called, she was not ready or something like that. That was embarrassing. This company should be brought down quickly. Today I've canceled the service altogether.
Looked for someone to clean up after pruning home fruit trees. Picked one. Got a call immediately and they were there within the hour! They did a great job too. Impressed.
I was a first time Home Advisor user. Home Advisor made it easy to connect with several potential contractors to obtain quotes for work performed. Additionally, I feel the company went above and beyond to ensure that I had an adequate pool of assistance to choose from.
It took a number of tries to be able to find credible contractors to work my project over a course of couple of weeks. This delayed my time-line to get other projects started on time.

J&y contractors did a awful job on my door was asked to rehang door all he did was put some weather stripping on that coming off charged me &150! Gave me back $75 and this is what I'm left with door won't even close completely

I used home advisor to hire a local contractor to install an exterior door. Guy was an hour late no call text or remorse. Left the job door unfinished, door locks handle missing, said he will be back next day. Cancelled saying he had another job that day. Was supposed to be here at 8 no show, call or text till 10 asking for an address. Made the guy wait as i was at another appointment being the guy was a no show and when i called back number was disconnected and no way to reach him. Left me high an dry.
Called home advisor. Said they could not get me anyone for 2 days minimum. Didn't know who the contractor was, didn't have a number. Couldn't get me a manager. This company is a wreck. They constantly gave excuse after excuse.

Columbus Concrete Coatings (Brady Epoxy Flooring; Brady Epoxy Flooring LLC; Nicholas Brady) Do NOT use this company. Work is shoddy, incomplete, unacceptable. Fails to correct problems (rough, uneven and bumpy surface with pitting of porch floor epoxy coating) as promised. Overcharges and engages in abrasive and lecturing conduct.
Bill Pierce contacted me promptly and I scheduled an appointment with him for the next day. He arrived on time and did a thorough inspection of my heating and air unit as I requested. My system is in good working order with no issues to address. He then installed my smart thermostat (Ecobee 3 lite). He made sure that everything was working properly and that I knew how to use it and the app on my cell phone. The work was done at the agreed upon price, which was affordable. Mr. Pierce if professional and personable. I will be contacting him with any future heating and air issues.
Easy to get a list of contractors. Home Advisor even requested quotes for us. Most requests were answered. The contractors who responded were a good mix of small and large companies. We were happy to get the request for our review of the contractor we chose.
I was a bit hesitant to use such services as HomeAdvisor, I guess I feel like I am being channeled to certain services without my knowledge of WHO I am being recommended to or WHY? Guess I feel that quality PROs shouldn't have need to such services, but maybe I am just out of step with the times.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
