The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

Was pleased with carpets once cleaned. Explained everything and did it. Carpets looked great!
I e used Home Advisor several times and have been very pleased with the service providers used.
Great experience, we're on time, responsive to questions, kept me advised all throughout the process. Definitely will use and recommend them!
My experience with Environmental Testings' Anthony Foote was excellent. Very knowledgeable and professional. He showed he cared about his work.
Home advisor is a great experience for me. They contact you right away and no job is to big or small. I will continue to use them.
Request for tree removal company bids answered within minutes and bid accepted same day.
I received several names for local businesses. Most followed up and came out promptly. Those that were booked informed me immediately and gave their next availability which I appreciated.
Very nice experience very helpful received quotes very prompt
Excellent. I would definitely recommend his service to other people that need to have stumps grinded. Overall great experience, very knowledgeable. Excellent service.
Home advisor helped me find a qualified installer that offered same day service.
Very good experience, But only had 1 business reply to my project.
Over the last three weeks I have had an endless repeat of contractors canceling at the last minute or just not showing up. The contractors that did show up were lazy, hardly performed any work, damaged my property, and spent most of their time smoking outside and throwing their garbage on my yard.
Awesome job with great results, done on time Great experiences.
Had a complete kitchen remodel. Contractor was a bit to young to have the experience he said he had. Work was slow and it seemed he was learning on my property. On the other hand, I had another project. Pull down, demo a brick wall and rebuild. I hared a different contractor for this and had the best contractor you coould wish for. Price, Quality, Deadline Met and work quality were awesome. So, between the two companies I hired I had to give a 3 star review because of the kitchen remodel project.
I got a closet organized, new air conditioner and my refrigerator fixed using home advisor
His review is by a Competent, Union trained, skilled contractor with 34 years experience. Home Advisor is an app written by someone with ZERO Construction knowledge and they are only concerned about their profits not your home project.
User and Buyer beware. Home Advisor is a complete SCAM. They do not do a thorough background check and they have no idea of the abilities of the people they send to your home. They make the homeowner feel like they are getting "free leads". The fact is Home Advisor charges the contractor for every lead they give to the contractor, therefore the contractor has to charge the homeowner the fees the contractor was charged by Home Advisor. They sell the leads to multiple contractors even though they say they don't, so they are making $150 to $500 for every lead they sell. They do not care about the contractors and they certainly don't care about the homeowner. The same group owns Angies List and Home Advisor
They also have a sneaky way of charging fees, they have Leads and opportunities. The leads they send to your inbox and charge you per message, even if the lead is in the wrong category of work they still try to charge you. You can easily end up with $300 to $ 500 worth of charges in a day. Home Advisor is a 100% money grab.
Using homeadvisor was great. Received different contractors within minutes of me requesting service.
Needed to replace a broken ceiling fan. Easy to describe and find contractors immediately. Price estimate close. I was only looking for estimates but I still was contacted by contractors which I wasn't really ready for and is the one complaint I have with Home Advisor.
Was on time, friendly, did well with dogs. Best price between 3 companies.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
