"As a new business I'm constantly checking my finances and making decisions based on little amounts of capital and resources. I chose HomeAdvisor to help me gain traction with new customers needing services. Initially I was told I would need to "invest" into HomeAdvisor in order to get the best results, I knew then I was going to be taken advantage of, but I obliged. One month later HomeAdvisor accounts for %47 percent of my expenses less than a %150 R. O. I. This number amount to nearly $700 worth of charges right out of the gate. They charge you for leads even if the information provided is wrong as I've had to wait on the phone for 45 minutes to get a $15 credit. Seems pedantic, but when it happens 6 or 7 time a week it becomes very expensive. HomeAdvisor owns all the major lead services in the nation and forces people to use its platform at an expensive rate regardless of which service you choose. I. e. Angies List, Thumbtack, etc. The Pro Customer Service operators are rude and read from a script regardless of the issues you are having na drefuse to provide any actual help. Consider this your warning.
Home Advisor presented 3 repairmen. I selected Pandemic Repair man Arthur. Home Advisor provided a good list of top notch candidates.

Home Advisor provided me with a good list of contractors to start my research process. I ended up choosing one of their recommendations. This is the second time that I have used Home Advisors and the second time that I have selected one of their recommendations. This is a great service.
Needed a landscaper for a cleanup job for new tenants. Home advisor gave me a few options but I also received phone calls from different prospects who could offer me quotes. I chose Miguel's Landscaping and it was the best thing I could have done! Exceptional work.

Some of the contractors we met with advised this site charges a high premium for the quote. I get lead sourcing is a business however for jobs that are inaccurately projected on this site, the cost to the contractor regardless if they get the job or not is steep. This structure would need to be revisited in order for me to use this company again to source a contractor.

Homeadvisor did not properly match appropriate contractors to my work request. Several contractors contacted me but were unable or not equipped to perform work requested. I don't think it's appropriate for homeadvisor to charge contractors for incorrect referrals. Don't send me tree removal services when I don't have a tree to be removed. I was fortunate to find one contractor to take my job after getting six incorrect referrals.
I wouldn't have had any idea of where to start to get this project off the ground without Home Advisor. I received almost immediate follow up from a representative who matched companies to my request. They contacted the companies who, in turn, contacted me in a short time. Some companies could not do the job that I was asking for but that was clear during the call. No wasted appointments.
Went online to Home Advisor app and filled out questionnaire for the job that needed done (less that a minute) and clicked done and immediately received Kyle's power washing service number. Called and set up appointment to come to the house for an estimate the next day. The price was very reasonable so I hired him on the spot. He did a fabulous job, and showed up on time. Home Advisor really came through for me on this job!
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
