The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

Within minutes of completing online project request, I had responses from contractors.
This company is absolutely horrible working for as a pro they steal money everytime you as a consumer call in to check prices they send out false leads to the contractor giving them info to call you say that you are ready for work to be regardless if you actually wanted work done and they charge us 75 to 150.00 for the false lead I have also been charged for leads to where I call the customer and they have never even heard of home advisor this company is a scam and you should watch dealing with them they are the worse company I have ever done business with so please be advised they are a rip off company and can not be trusted
Filled out the fields with the information needed to match my needs with the right service.
I had an excellent experience on November 9,2020. However, that is not the case today when I can't even ascertain in pro information to resolve my current problem.
Great they were on time. Finished on time. Cleaned floors, fans, blinds, and dusted everything in between.
Job well done. Very courteous people. They even raked and blew dry leaves around my house. I did not expect that.
I've used HomeAdvisor for years, including recently for a dryer vent service from Grateful Duct Cleaning. HomeAdvisor has been great and, in this case, Grateful Duct Cleaning was wonderful! I would highly recommend both HomeAdvisor and Grateful Duct Cleaning.
I have gone to HomeAdvisor for most of the big jobs around my house. I have used them for several years. Recently, the lack of response from vendors is disappointing. I requested multiple quotes on a tile replacement job that was fairly large. I got 1 response. I have made a request to get roll off quotes and am still waiting for any response. I will still use them, but will have to start looking beyond HomeAdvisor for contractors willing to put in bids on projects.
I would rate my experience with HomeAdvisor a 5 out of 5. I was given a number of contractors in my area and several reached out to me before I could contact them. Each contractor was on time and professional. Each followed Coved-19 protocols. Each took time to measure the area and provide an estimate.
I was apprehensive that they will only promote certain contractors. But they followed up with me a list of contractors and helped me find a specific one for my needs. It is really a great service.
Home Advisor is awesome! When I requested for a service, they followed up and provided me with the right person that helped me too get the work done on time and within my budget.
Needed extensive palm tree work in my yard. Found the ideal company for the job.
Excellent job. Everyone was very helpful. Follow up was great
I paid a fix price to get my heating system duct system cleaned through Home Advisor's Service. It was a disaster. They did not note the correct phone number(changed from prior number used years ago in original Home Advisor). So the first contractor called but we did not get the call. He apparently came to our house on a Tuesday but did not get out to knock on the door, otherwise, our dog would have barked. I called up to report no show and they said they would send out another one by Thursday. I received an erroneous confirmation of my appt for Sunday, despite verbal and in my acct, Thursday not Sunday was listed. It too multiple emails to get them to rectify the wrong day. Again no show and no call. I called customer service and they were full of excuses. I requested my refund which they did issue, however, they ignored my request for a manager to call me back.
Provided sufficient individuals to provide estimates. Representative was also very helpful. I didn't understand the fixed priced estimate, no one responded to that and the estimates were all over that amount.
HomeAdvisor was easy to use. I had 7 replies within an hour or so.
Needed a pipe boot replacement to fix leak on my roof. Roofer showed up on time and got the job done quickly.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
