The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

Excellent. Got a call, helpful friendly service. Was contacted by service within two minutes. I reached out to many people prior with no response. Home advisor saved our butts! Thank you thank you thank you
I was on the website of a contractor.
After I hit submit for an estimate on windows (I never heard from him) another form popped up, asking if I had any other "jobs" to be done. I thought it was the same contractor.
After I added "insulation in knee-wall", swap out light fixture, indoor and outdoor painting, my phone blew up with over 20 calls at the same time!
I had no idea I had been LURED into HOME ADVISOR.
I know every business gets charged $80.00/ for the "lead," which is a rip-off since nobody can answer 20 calls for 5 different jobs, at the same time.
I was ready to throw my phone out the window.
Most of the ones that made it through, NEVER SHOWED UP.
The others said I would be subjected to a 90 minute sales pitch DURING A PANDEMIC.
I told them to "not come."
I NEED these jobs done. I do not need anyone to "sell-me" that I need 5 windows.
I had calls for things I never asked for, like flooring and bathroom tiling.
I need PVC wall panels installed with a kit with 0 grout, NOT tiling.
So far, 0 PAINTERS have showed up... ZERO... interior and exterior painting and painters aren't responding?
Home Advisor does announce it's presence, when it lures you into forms, attached to others websites.
Its nefarious.
Don't use this service. They send you false leads that are not companies. When you call they transfer to every department in the world and no one knows what they are talking about. They say you can request a credit but then your credit request is denied and they only issue in house credits but still continue to send you bogus leads. Don't use them they will only take your money and you don't make any of it back.

Great company to work with on my project, on time, professional, experienced team, cleaned up afterwards, honest and cost was lower than estimated.
Cracked granite on kitchen counter. Was told by others fix couldn't be done. Marc with N2Stone confidently took on the job and did a fantastic repair for a reasonable price.
I had some damage to my wood floors. For each area they knew exactly what to do. They are experts and the price was reasonable.
Good experience. They were on time, polite, courteous, and professional.
When I am looking for contractors for different projects I go on HomeAdvisor first. They are very quick to email contractors to your inbox and/or text.
Of course, it is your responsibility to interview the contractors and make your own decision. I have met several great contractors through HomeAdvisor
Charged $300 downpayment for Leads. Gave me 4 leads that had NOTHING to do with my Business, I co Commercial Disinfecting, they gave me Cleaning Leads. Apologized, kept the balance of the deposit and told me there was nothing they could do. Suggested I call the Leads and try to sell them on my service. This may work for the larger businesses, stay away if your small.

Top Dog in Rayond NH was there to fix the problem. Great experience in a troubled time.
Homeadvisor provided numerous high quality contractors experienced with concrete work.
We chose a recommended vendor who was great. They were the highest rated on Home Advisorg and did a great job.
Home Advisor who Sucks Owns Angie's List! Most people don't know this! I was getting leads from Home Advisor that you pay per lead and I was getting leads from Angie's List that you pay per month. My Monthly fee for Angie's List was close to $800.00 per month. The leads for Home Advisor was up to $1,800.00 per month. On Home Advisors leads it said Angie's List right on them! I would call my customers and they would say I never contacted Home Advisor! I contacted Angie's List. So the Scam is pay per lead on Home Advisor while paying your Monthly fee on Angie's List. They would get you to pay for both! I called and called and called both Angie's List and Home Advisor to complain and all I ever heard was we will take care of it! Yeah right! I was run around between both companies. It's the same thing with all these big companies all they care about is stealing your Money!

I used HomeAdvisor to locate a roofing contractor when the flashing around the chimney began to leak. My roof is relatively new and I have had no other problems so I knew it was not a matter of needing a roof. I had previously tried to get a roofer in my area to fix this but had been unable over about 3 weeks to locate anyone who was willing to even look at it. Within a couple hours of entering the project in HomeAdvisor I had two roofers who came, looked at it and described what they would do to fix it. They offered largely the same solution which was assuring. I chose the solution that was a little more extensive and expensive but that I feel addressed everything possible. I am very pleased with the end result.
After scheduling carpet cleaning, and paying upfront, I was stood up after traveling to meet their vendor in below zero weather. No call from them, and after 45 min on hold for support, I was disconnected. Finally money back. Moved in with dirty carpets! Never had worse service or response. Stay AWAY!

Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
