The selection process was easy. The the various cleaning services responses were quick.
I thought I was signing up for a particular company, not home advisor. When they called, they wanted to charge me $229 for service. I wanted a free estimate. When I declined, they still sent my name to contractors. I got a message the next day saying I owed this money.
I had prepaid for lawn care and spring clean up using home advisor. They promised me someone would be out at a specific time and date to perform the job. Well, no company had shown up to perform the job and $350 was taken out of my bank account. I had called for a refund and they asked if I wanted to reschedule. I said no because I lost trust in the business. I asked for a refund and the lady told me no problem and that it would take 3-5 business days to return to my account. So after about 9 business days of no refund I called back. I got the "oh so sorry about that" response and she told me they will reprocess the refund. Well guess what?! Another 5 business days later and still NO refund! My lawn looks like absolute garbage and I'm out $350. I will get my money back one way or another. Save yourself frustration and do not use Home Advisor or Angi's list. They're the same company.

I was very thankful for the recommendation from HomeAdvisor. I only obtained two recommendations and I called a third person on my own. I went with their recommendation because I am sure I could not have found the company I ultimately went with, without their help.
I have used Home Advisor for several projects for finding quality companies to complete projects around our house and church. We have used them to find companies that replaced our swamp cooler, replaced concrete drive way, locksmith, fence replacement, and garage door replacement.

MY FIRST experience was that my contractor had cancelled my appointment just a couple of hours before he was to come. Then he called and said he did not cancel two hours later and he could come now. So I said he could. He came with his buddy, they looked at the project and said it would be double the price I was quoted. When I said NO WAY I would pay that price, he angrily said "Well what is your Budget". These 2 men were in a broken down car, looked like they came off the street, and were rude. WHAT KIND of background did Home Advisor make. I was afraid they might do something, come back later and steal?

I have to say that i had Fitzs welding and fencing did a great job with my project to install a concrete slab between my home and the drive way, Very impresses with there work and the price was right. Work was done and completed on the 14 th of april. Will hire them again if needed.

Completing the request for service is VERY VERY EASY - generally generates 3 potential service providers. DRAWBACK to home advisor I feel after you use them between the emails and phone calls it becomes a hassle. I think Home Advisor should wait 4 -5 days before calling or emailing to see how its going
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
