The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

This was first time I have used Home Advisor - to which I was channeled thru NEXT DOOR app. I'd do it again because it saved me from doing the searching and contacting.
And the company was reliable and efficient. 100% satisfied.
Home Advisor is now into scaming people! I clicked on what looked like and said it was a local College Pro painter. Itt asked for my information and what I wanted done, so I filled it out. Then all of a sudden I was getting phone calls and email from companies I never contacted! Home Advisor made themselves look like another company, took my information, and shared it with a bunch of other companies without my permission! What a scam and another way to steal peoples info! Don't use Home Advisor or Angie's List. I guess I will keep to Nextdoor Neighbor and local Menards for local contractors!
Easy easy. I contacted site Wednesday night. Advantage called me right back. She came out Thursday to consult and Friday did the planting. I expected to wait a couple of months
Easy, convenient, trusted. Was concerned when Angie's List changed to Angi. Afraid the changed, merge, sale or whatever occurred on the business end would change the trustworthiness but that doesn't appear to be the case. I was very happy with the service received.
I called what I thought was a local contractor I found online only to find that it was a dummy site to put my through to HomeAdvisor. I explained that I was looking to have tiles replaced in my shower floor. The first person I spoke to transferred me to another person and I had to go over everything again. That person clearly didn't listen to the fact that all I was looking for was tile work. Now I'm getting nonstop calls for shower inserts, walking baths,, and everything except for what I actually need. Very irritating. Just skip using a third party like Home Advisor and find someone local on your own.
I received several companies with Home Advisor and initially went with a highly rated company in Winter Haven. They came out, gave me an estimate, I signed a work order. They never returned. I called three times and they never returned my call. So I chose Gutter Logic out of Tampa. Actually received a call back and they completed the job within two weeks.
We were having trouble finding a roofer, so I went on HomeAdvisor and found M&J Roofing. They were quick to reach out and had the job completed within a week.
The companies recommended all responded to my calls and were honest about how quickly they could start my project. I was very happy with the company I chose for the job.
I've never really used to advisor because I found that their information to general. They offer a fixed price service for hourly rates with a minimum of two hours but by choosing that you have absolutely no idea what service you're actually getting in detail and yet they want you to pay upfront. So I found that very confusing. I was immediately contacted by one of the suppliers who ended up using however I receive no other contact from any other supplier Which I found very limited in terms of having choices. I had to go out of another comparative suppliers on my own.
We received estimates promptly with excellent companies. It's a great way to get estimates for projects with high quality service. Would definitely use again.
Was going to forfeit my computer repair job when HomeAdvisor sent Nick's Quick Fix my way. Nick went right to work diagnosing the problem, explained various options, and let me choose what I felt worked best for me. It was a win-win and I appreciate his knowledge and expertise.
Home advisor found a great contractor and then checked up with a real person on the phone to be sure I was happy.
We searched out a contractor to install a rooftop antenna (we don't want cable TV). We found someone who did an excellent job.
My experience was very pleasing. I really like how they took the time to explain to me how the new garage door opener works and explain to me the warranty I have with the garage door opener and finally they cleaned up after themselves which is always a big plus
The site gave us a few companies to contact for our project along with reviews. Very easy.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
