I contacted Home Advisor to get a quote on replacing the glass in 2 different windows. The contractor came and took measurements. My debit card was then charged $562.50 for the quote alone. On top of $1200 to get the glass fixed. I will never use this service. Use the Nextdoor or Social Media to get a quote from the same contractors for free!
We got hooked up with a lawn care service to take care of some overgrown lawn that we were being hassled about by code enforcement (not even on our property) they quoted us $125. The lawn care person kept pushing back the date he would come out. This caused us to get a court citation. When he finally did show up, he mowed the entire lawn (which we had already done.) except for what he was actually hired to do. Told us he would have to come back the next day as he didn't have the proper equipment, came back the next day and said it was too hot to do it. Came back again barely did anything and said it was done. Boyfriend paid him the agreed upon amount in cash cause he was frustrated and done with the whole thing. Home advisor has now charged my boyfriend $308 dollars over the last month for doing nothing. They said they refunded it but the bank statement shows: June 24th -$29.99, June 25th -$73.00, July 1st -$10.00, July 2nd +$10.00 (the only refund), July 9th -$10.00, July 16th -$93.00, and July 23rd -$93.00. He has called them twice about this, they say they refunded it. He called the bank today and even they said there's no pending refunds. So all in all, Home Advisor has charged him $308 for absolutely nothing. Plus the $150 for the lawn care guy that did everything but what he was supposed to. Plus the $150 fine his brother paid cause it didn't get done. Then $180 for someone else entirely to actually do the job (fantastic guy) and put his bank account in the negative. I dont suggest using this site at all.

After I made the call, I had a few calls from different contractors. The very next day Domingo came and gave me a good estimate and I signed with him.
He came out right away to help. I had been without a dishwasher for three weeks. The company that delivered it finally told me they couldn't install it and told me to call a plumber. The plumbers told me they don't install dishwashers
Rebecca came for an initial visit to see what I needed done. Which is everything. Then she came back and did an excellent job.

I have had good results with Angi's list and have completed projects happily. Sometimes the "professionals don't contact you which is frustrating, needless to say I hired one who did! I will continue to use this service! I like that they have had background checks etc
ASKED FOR TREE REMOVAL IN MY AREA, WAS GIVEN FIVE NAMES I BELIEVE, AND THEN MORE WERE ADDED.
SOME COMPANIES WERE TOO BIG AND HAD TO WAIT WEEKS TO EVEN LOOK AT WHAT I NEEDED.
I CHOSE THE HANDS ON AND RIGHT AWAY LOOK SEE.
One of the vendors was scheduled to arrive at a specific time slot, which they missed. They came later and said that they don't do time slots, just Morning or Afternoon and call to tell you they are coming. Homeadvisor and this company need to get their stories straight.

Strong Roots tree service was great. The landscaper suggested was a disappointment! Dam... Brothers came out, gave an estimate & said they would be out 1st week of Aug. I asked for a written contract showing the work to be done, as I will not be here! That was the last I have heard from them. Their phone has been busy 24/7 for2 weeks! No word from them. If they come out & do any work... I will not pay them. I have NO contract with this co.!
