The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

I don't like having to use the app. It time consuming. It takes to much space on my phone as I do not have a computer. I had to jump through to many hoops. It was much easier before.
I have several home projects to be done and very unsure on how much each project will cost. When I use Angi's list, I can get serval pro's contacting me and giving me estimates. That gives me better negotiation skills and a better idea of scope of work etc. I can make a better judgement call on who to use and the price I can afford. It's great!
Angie's service was terrible. Over 20 emails were received even after I hired a service provider. Angie's 15% discount was not offered until after provider was committed. I will not use Angie's again.
They came to do a cleaning job after other so called lawn professionals left a mess of tree stumps, pine straw, pieces of limbs and left our lawn immaculate! I am so happy! We have the best looking yard in our community!
Good from start to finish. Young man was knowledgeable and courteous. Also was prompt and on time! Will use them the next time the chimney has to be inspected or worked on based on this experience.
Everything went very well from start to finish I am very happy with this service it makes searching for service providers a lot easier
Started out on bad footing Angi couldnt understand I didn't need floors or bathroom remodeling. After 2 customer service representatives explaining what we needed they had contractors contact us on what we were looking for. We found one who was willing to look over the job
Easy to work with; on time, finished below estimate, highly knowledgable, very skilled, professional and clean, respectful of our home. We'll hire them again for future roof maintenance.
I have received 67 emails from these people. They hide ( very successfully) the unsubscribe link. I do not need or want their product and their marketing is sleazy. They will not leave me alone. Do not buy from these people. God forbid if you get on their list, good luck trying to get off.
It was good. The serviceman got to work right away and light works fine. Pleased with the experience.
I used HomeAdvisor to hire a professional to sand my deck. Two individuals showed up with NO tools or experience, and couldn't have been more than 21. I obviously looked confused, and asked them what they thought they could do without tools and they told me they were under the impression I would supply the tools and ladders to "clean the deck". I am 8 months pregnant and don't have the means to carry tools, even if I did have them, which I don't! I didn't want my deck cleaned; I wanted it sanded! It was a huge mess, and only delayed my project that much more. As if that wasn't enough, I was still charged for the labor! They didn't lift a finger or sand a single board! I called Home Advisor's support line, and the gal working said it wasn't their fault, and that I must have miscommunicated something when they were setting up my contractor. She said they could "only reimburse me 50% or send another "professional" out to clean my deck." I AGAIN said I didn't want it cleaned, I wanted it sanded, and they didn't send a professional, rather two people who had no idea what they were doing! I ended up doing a chargeback. DO NOT USE HOMEADVISOR!
Included are texts from the "professional" that was sent out. No idea how he was able to text me, but when I tried to text him back, the system said the number was no longer available.
Take your time & screen the applicants for reliability, experience, price. Some will not show.
I started filling out the questionnaire before I realized I was not going to be given a list of Angie contractors with all their background information - like on the old Angie's List. So I stopped filling out the questionnaire and exited the site. Nevertheless, I got calls from total strangers about whom I knew nothing soliciting me for my project. I HATE that. I want the old Angie's List back.
I checked with two of the companies recommended by Home Advisor plus three on my own. The one I selected from Home Advisor was excellent! The project was to install a brick patio and walkway
Great. The smell from the dirt is gone. They keep us informed on what they were doing. They did it in the right amount of time.
It was easy, quick, and they called me within 10 minutes.
Their work was outstanding and if finding a problem discussed it thoroughly with you about cost and prior to continuing.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
