HiBid has been the top auction site I have used for the past several years. They consistently have some of the best industrial/commercial items up for bid and have been a big part of getting my hobby shop kitted out with quality equipment. The registration and bidding process is straightforward and easy.
I'd like to be able to see what bid one the auction after the fact. There are times when I step away and I don't bid high enough and I lose which is okay. But I'd like to know how much I lost the bid by.

45 dollar handling fee this is the absolute first time I have ever paid a handling fee on top of buyer's premiums this is ludicrous I won't be bidding on your sites any longer

I am a new bidder and I thought it would be more difficult than it was so far it's been a pretty cool experience. I had to email one place that I needed to pick up one of my winnings, and they answered in a timely manner and helped me out immensely

I bid on about 15 items some were repeats due to expected other bidders and I sent notes to auctioner 8 hours ahead of auction. No bids were cancelled and now I have duplicate items.

My bidding was fine. But when i went to select a pickup time, i was unable to navigate to any schedule for pickup.

I was high bid on October 13. There is no contact info for the auctioneer. Their phone is not taking calls. No email returned. Not sure if I have win the article or even where to pick it up. Seems someone has dropped the ball.

We've purchased at several HiBid auctions, but mostly in Montana. This is the first time we've purchased with Weiss Lake Auctions, and so far it's been a disappointment compared to our other experiences. The credit card charge was immediate (as usual), but I'm not 8+ days out from purchase and still no information on when the item will ship. I reached out to them several times last week, and only after many days and requests did someone reply saying they are busy and I would not hear anything about shipping until this week at the earliest (still no word). Hopefully it will all work out, but it can feel like a scam when they want payment but then go radio-silent on your items, with no ETA given for delivery (or even when/if it will ship). This is an avoidable problem - they need to staff appropriately -- that's part of what the buyer's premium is for.

Overall, the bidding experience is very easy to use. The one place for opportunity - the platform is very clunky when it comes to viewing and opening photos of the items. It is slow, at times unresponsive and it just doesn't respond well when trying to move through the photos.
But again, overall the experience is easy to use.

I enjoy hibid and use it all the time. Your desktop application works fine but your mobile app has some quirks:
1. There is a floating search bar - not sure why but it gets in the way, particularly for a live auction.
2. When you get search results they go down only one page, the results won't get any farther, they just stop there. You click on more results and nothing happens.
3. You can't get just US results - it's international.
4. There is no way to filter to see only shippable lots.

I've never done an online auction before, and I'm still trying to figure it all out however, my experience was good. I kind of enjoyed bidding against somebody I wish there were more in my area. I especially like the future where it says shipping available or no shipping. For a first time, it was very easy for me.

Overall we have had good experiences with the various HiBid auction companies, quality merchandise and titles that matched those items. Our recent experience with Southern Treasures has been an exception. Their titles on jewelry were stating "14kt Gold", only down in the description did they state the item was 14kt over sterling. I feel this is a deceptive practice and will be extremely careful from now on about carefully reading the entire listing. I have been associated with the Auction business in one way or another, as buyer, seller, and auction employee for 50 years and this is not an ethical way of merchandising.

I love HiBid and made several purchases 95% satisfied.
Only issue is there needs to be a better way for HiBid to handle disputes directly between Auction and Customer.
Had a negative comment that wasn't true, can't get it retracted because the person that commented sold his auction to someone else. It's very discouraging.

I do wish that you had an easier way to access future auctions from the auction houses I have already bought from before
Answer: Licensed auctioneer here- auction law is that if you give notice that you need to retract your bid before the hammer falls (or the auction ends online) that the auctioneer is required to retract the bid. Actual law also dictates that bidding must start over at opening bid, not the next highest bid.
Answer: Very easy. If you dont get someone immediately they do call back. But once again if you have a problem with items contact the auction house not hibid. Hibid doesn't auction they only provide the platform
